Former WH physician Rep. Ronny Jackson reiterates demand that President Biden 'needs a cognitive exam NOW'

Since even before he entered the White House, concerns have been raised about the apparent decline in President Joe Biden's cognitive capabilities, and those concerns have only grown as the decline has only grown worse and more apparent.

At the forefront of those raising such concerns is former White House physician-turned-congressman Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who reiterated his standing demand last week that Biden undergoes a cognitive exam and transparently share the results with the American people, the Conservative Brief reported.

Of course, the president and his White House have staunchly resisted such calls and instead have insisted that his mental abilities are better than ever and any suggestion to the contrary is driven purely by partisan politics.

"This man needs a cognitive exam NOW"

On Feb. 8, President Biden delivered a speech in Wisconsin about the economy at a training center for the Laborers’ International Union of North America, or LIUNA, and those remarks immediately got off to a rocky start.

While walking around on stage, Biden said, "You know, uh --," and then paused with a confused look on his face as he stared at the podium. He then carefully set down the handheld microphone he was holding and appeared to pick up another to continue his speech, and mumbled, "Got it over here."

Rep. Jackson shared a brief clip of that moment on Twitter and wrote, "WOW! What is going on with Biden here??? He’s TOTALLY lost. This man needs a cognitive exam NOW. There’s NO WAY he’s ok!!"

Just feedback, or a sign of broader problems?

However, as was pointed out in the comments to Rep. Jackson's post, and as can be seen and heard in the clip -- also seemingly confirmed by the White House transcript -- Biden was experiencing some annoying feedback with the microphone he was holding and simply swapped it out for another that had been placed at the ready inside the podium.

Yet, while microphone feedback might explain this particular incident, it most certainly does not negate the countless other examples of cognitive decline that Biden has shown over the past three years, nor does it allay the concerns of Rep. Jackson and millions of other Americans who wonder about the actual status of the president's mental health.

Nor is this the first time that the former physician-turned-congressman has expressed his alarm about Biden's cognitive capabilities and demanded that the president be examined in that regard, as he first did so during the 2020 campaign and has continued since being elected to the House, whether through critical tweets or formal statements.

Jackson's official statements

In June 2021, Jackson said in a statement, "The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President. They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader. I would argue that the American people don’t have that confidence in President Biden."

"When I was Physician to President Donald J. Trump, the liberal media relentlessly pushed a narrative that he needed a cognitive test and that it should be the standard for anyone serving as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State," he added. "I administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) test and President Trump excelled. Given the precedent set and Biden’s clear mental impairment, I believe it is past time he undergo a cognitive test."

He renewed that call in a February 2022 statement, and said, "Joe Biden has continually proven to me and to the world that something isn’t right. The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President’s cognitive ability. Taking the cognitive test will be an important first step in either reassuring worried Americans, or in identifying and properly treating symptoms of impairment that are consistent with a variety of cognitive diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, Parkinson’s, or multiple sclerosis."

Jackson last reiterated that demand in July 2022, when he said in a statement, in reference to media reports about some Democrats now expressing similar concerns, "This is not a political issue, it’s common sense. If Joe Biden is confident in his ability to excel at a cognitive test the way President Trump did, he can easily put his fellow Democrats’ fears to rest with this one simple test."
