Doorbell footage shows man in Biden mask eating banana at Watauga home

 October 20, 2026

A stranger in a Joe Biden mask ate a banana through the mask on a Watauga doorbell camera, and police say bizarre behavior is not a crime.

The Nest camera at a home in Watauga, Texas, recorded the visit around 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 18.

An unknown individual walked up to the door carrying a banana. The person wore a mask resembling former President Joe Biden and a T-shirt that read "FREEDOM," ran fingers over the camera twice, ate the banana through the mask, and left.

FOX 4 News shared the doorbell video, provided courtesy of resident Jessica Mancia.

Watauga police reviewed the footage and searched the surrounding neighborhood. Officers could not find the individual. They determined no criminal offense had occurred and filed no charges.

The department also noted social media posts from other residents describing similar sightings, though no additional official reports came in.

Police call the visit bizarre, not illegal

Watauga Police Department addressed the episode directly.

"Although the individual's choice of attire and snack may have raised a few eyebrows, neither appears to have violated the law at this time."

Officers went further on the costume and the fruit.

"And while we can't explain the costume, the banana, or the apparent political identity crisis, we can confirm that being bizarre is not, in itself, a criminal offense."

They still urged residents to speak up when something feels off.

"The Watauga Police Department takes these types of reports seriously, however, and we encourage residents to continue reporting suspicious activity, even when the circumstances are a little bananas."

The "FREEDOM" shirt referenced a slogan popularized by the late political commentator Charlie Kirk. No motive for the stop was stated, and the person in the mask remains unidentified.

Joe Biden continues to draw public attention long after leaving office, including through family health updates that keep his name in the headlines.

Interest in the former president also covers older controversies, such as audio recordings about classified documents that resurfaced in later coverage.

Campaign-era questions about fitness have lingered as well, including accounts of pressure over cognitive test results during the last race.

Even private deliberations from his White House years still surface, among them reports that he weighed a pardon decision in 2023.

None of that explains a banana, a mask, and a front-door stop in Tarrant County. It only shows how quickly a political face becomes ready-made costume material.

Watauga police kept the response proportional: check the video, walk the block, close the loop, and tell residents to keep calling when something looks wrong.

In a free country, looking ridiculous still is not a crime. Local cops handled that part without losing their sense of proportion.
