During a visit to Ottawa, Canada on Friday, President Joe Biden mistakenly praised China instead of Canada while he was making a speech to Parliament about joint border initiatives, failing to mention China at all when talking about the fentanyl problem plaguing the country.
"In the United States, we're expanding legal pathways for migration, to seek safety and humanitarian…humanitarian basis, while discouraging unlawful migration that feeds exploitation and human trafficking," the president began.
"So today, I applaud China for stepping out...excuse me, I applaud Canada," Biden said, stumbling over the words as members of Parliament laughed.
"You can tell what I'm thinking…about China. I won't get into that yet," Biden said. "I applaud Canada's stepping up of similar programs."
Biden's praise was for an agreement by Canada to take 15,000 more migrants a year from Latin American countries in exchange for the U.S. acquiescing to their plans to deport those coming into the country illegally.
Earlier in the speech, Biden neglected to even mention China when he was talking about fentanyl coming into the country. Most fentanyl is manufactured in China and shipped across the Mexican border.
“We’re tackling the scourge of synthetic drugs that are devastating Canada and American communities, particularly our young people. Fentanyl is a killer and almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by this — lost a child or lost a friend,” Biden said of the more than 100,000 opioid overdoses per year.
“Canada and the United States are working closely with our partner in Mexico to attack this problem at every stage, from the precursor chemicals shipped from overseas to the powder to the pills to the traffickers moving into all of our countries,” Biden said.
“And we all know, [the] synthetic opioid epidemic has its roots around the globe, not just here. So today, we’re announcing a commitment to build a new global coalition of like-minded countries led by Canada and the United States to tackle this crisis. This is about public health,” he continued.
Americans, especially Republicans, are much more interested in an agreement Biden may have with China after Republicans reported that bank records in their possession showed that members of the Biden family received $1.3 million from Chinese companies, all of which have ties and are ultimately controlled by the CCP.
What is the real reason Biden is giving China such a pass during his administration?
Could it be because he is beholden to China for making his family a lot richer and giving his deadbeat son and brother income?
Does Biden have the force of will to hold China accountable for its bullying of Taiwan, its lies about COVID-19 and refusal to take responsibility for its spread, and its increasing efforts to spy on the U.S. in any way it can?
Pretty much the whole world can see that something's not right about Biden's relationship with China.
His gaffe is what psychologists call a "Freudian slip" because when Biden tries to say the politically correct, prepared thing, the truth comes out instead.
