Lawyer Lin Wood says Pence should be arrested, executed for treason over his role in the ‘theft of the election’

Watching the Supreme Court and other state courts refuse to address what many see as credible allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election has been maddening — but one attorney fighting to be heard seems to be going a little too far.

According to Breitbart, Lin Wood said in a series of tweets on Friday that Vice President Mike Pence is participating in the “theft of the election” by refusing to alter the Electoral College vote — and for this, the lawyer said, Pence could be arrested for treason and “face execution by firing squad.”

Wood was reportedly referring to a lawsuit filed against Pence seeking to force him to intervene in the Electoral College certification by Congress. The suit argued that several states did not follow their own election laws and chose unconstitutional slates of electors.

After claiming that Democrats, foreign interference, globalists (like George Soros), elitists (like Bill Gates), and the CIA all worked to deny President Donald Trump a second term, Wood tweeted, “It all seemed so clear we overlooked one of the main participants in the theft of the election: THE REPUBLICANS.”

Wood’s bizarre claims

The suit against Pence, filed by Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) and others, says that the vice president should certify the alternate sets of electors in those states, which would give the Electoral College win to Trump instead of Democrat Joe Biden, according to The Hill.

Pence, of course, does not want to do this, because it doesn’t come across as fair and would look like he was trying to hold onto his own power as vice president.

Accordingly, the vice president filed a brief against the lawsuit, saying that he doesn’t have the discretion to choose different electors than the ones the state voted for and sent to Congress. If any challenge was to be presented, Pence said, it would have to come from Congress and not from him.

On Friday, a federal judge sided with Pence and threw the case out, the Washington Examiner noted. But that’s unlike to sway Wood, who wrote the same day that Pence and others who have come out against Trump in the fight for a free and fair election are “aspir[ing] to the goals of communism,” as Breitbart reported.

A look ahead

While Wood’s logic is nothing short of baffling, it seems clear that Trump and his allies still aren’t ready to throw in the towel on the 2020 election.

Congress is set to meet Wednesday to certify the Electoral College vote, which came out 306-232 in favor of Joe Biden on Dec. 14, according to CBS News. At least 140 Republicans in the House and one GOP senator plan to object to the electors in certain states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan, the New York Post reports.

It remains unclear, however, how successful their challenges will be.
