There are few less horrific ways to die than being eaten alive by an alligator.
However, that is exactly what happened to Shizuka Matsuki, 47, of Plantation, FL.
Out for a Walk
For Ms. Matsuki, Friday more than likely started out like any other day.
At some point, she took her two dogs for a walk.
That would be the last anyone would ever see of her.
One of her neighbors had seen her walking the dogs not long before.
Then, he noticed the dogs running loose.
In addition, one of them appeared to be injured.
When he approached the area, he saw a massive alligator measuring more than 12 feet in length.
Authorities Called In
After her neighbor made the discovery, he immediately called in authorities.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived and captured the alligator.
The agency performed a necropsy on the alligator with a rather disturbing discovery.
While the agency said it found human remains in the alligator, an anonymous source told reporters it was actually an arm with distinctive tattoos.
The tattoos were apparently how the agency tied the body part to Matsuki.
After searching the lake, authorities reportedly found the rest of Matsuki’s body.
This is the second death in two years in Florida due to an alligator attack.
As you may recall, in 2016, a young boy was attacked at the Disney resort and died due to traumatic injuries and drowning.
