White House press official shreds ABC for burying Jeffrey Epstein story
If there is a negative story to run about conservatives, ABC has no problem running with it immediately. But when a story implicates powerful liberals such as the Clintons and Prince Andrew, ABC doesn’t hesitate to kill it, apparently.
And White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley held nothing back in ripping the network for its unethical editorial standards in a Breitbart interview.
Where Are the Standards?
Journalists in the mainstream media constantly get upset with the current administration for attacking them. The fact of the matter, though, is they deserve every shot they get.
Gidley ran down a list of stories portraying conservatives negatively that were eventually debunked, all of which were reported by ABC.
He stated: “For ABC to make the comment that it wasn’t up to our standards to put on television, I guess that doesn’t apply to Kavanaugh, I guess that doesn’t apply to Covington kids, I guess that doesn’t apply when you put up a video that and say ‘look at the shelling in Syria’ but it’s actually Kentucky.”
These comments came after ABC issued a defense of its decision to kill the Jeffrey Epstein story that anchor Amy Robach investigated and planned to report on three years ago. ABC’s statement claimed that “at the time, not all of our reporting met our standards to air,” according to NPR.
The only reason the Epstein story was not “up to their standards” was that it was not a hit job on conservatives, and it implicated untold numbers of rich and powerful elites.
While Gidley had everyone’s attention, he was also quick to point out the blatant bias on journalists across the industry. Go back just a few years ago, and Twitter feeds of journalists usually read like a ticker. They were comprised of fairly straightforward posts reporting on stories of the day.
Today, it seems as though every tweet also has some sarcastic remark designed to take a cheap shot at Trump or some other Republican. There was a time when journalists had integrity, but those days seem to be long gone.
The hatred for Donald Trump has penetrated the profession so deeply that too many journalists are simply incapable of providing a neutral angle to any story involving anyone from this administration. The real question, though, is how much longer are Americans going to put up with this?
Mainstream outlets continue to taint the news, create a narrative, and tell outright lies, but everyone keeps going back to them.
And if you think it’s bad now, wait until election season really kicks in, and Trump has to not only fight against his opponent, but also virtually every major media outlet in existence.
