During a recent virtual campaign rally with TV host Oprah Winfrey, Vice President Kamala Harris made a bizarre remark that caught everyone off-guard, including Winfrey.
According to Fox News, during the debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, Harris revealed that she and running mate Tim Walz are gun owners, presumably pandering to those who would be hesitant to vote for a Democrat who's quick to invoke the gun control nonsense.
Winfrey told Harris in the virtual campaign event that she was surprised to learn that Harris owned a gun, as the two talked about the gun violence debate.
Harris then responded by insisting that anyone who would decide to break into her home is "getting shot."
At the debate, Harris said:
"I've made very clear my position on fracking and then this business about taking everyone's guns away. Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We're not taking anybody's guns away. So stop with the continuous lying about this stuff."
The conversation for Harris went a little off the rails after her remark about shooting an intruder.
"If somebody breaks into my house, they're getting shot, sorry," Harris said after Winfrey said she thought it was "powerful" that Harris admitted she owned a gun. Harris immediately tried to backtrack.
"Probably should not have said that," Harris said as everyone at the event laughed. "But my staff will deal with that later."

Harris was immediately slammed by social media users as she has made numerous remarks supporting gun buy-backs and other radical gun control measures over the years.
Users across social media torched the Democratic presidential nominee for making the remark about shooting an intruder.
"Her handlers in the earpiece made audible groans," one X user wrote, referencing the "getting shot" remark.
Another X user wrote, "No one who owns a weapon for self defense ever laughs about shooting an intruder. She is an example of a giddy airhead with nothing to offer."
Not surprisingly, Fox News was not able to get Harris or her campaign to comment on the remark.
