You likely won’t hear much about it in the mainstream media, but by the Democrats’ standards, another “insurrection” took place last week in Washington D.C. However, this time, it wasn’t supporters of former President Donald Trump.
According to the Daily Mail, dozens of “extreme” climate activists stormed the building that houses the Department of the Interior. They not only clashed with police and security officers but many of them were also arrested after they “rushed” the lobby, according to witnesses of the protest.
Hilariously, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland’s office not only brushed off the incident as no big deal, but commended the protesters — even after they injured cops and security guards — for staging a “peaceful” protest.
“Interior Department leadership believes strongly in respecting and upholding the right to free speech and peaceful protest,” Melissa Schwartz, a spokeswoman for Haaland, said in a statement.
The videos
Multiple videos were taken of the protesters’ successful attempt at breaching the building. Upon rushing and injuring security forces, the group linked arms and staged a sit-in. Several on the scene, including conservative reporter Andy Ngo, said it was “reminiscent” of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The Washington Post’s Ellie Silverman uploaded video footage and described the scenes that were unfolding.

“Historic surge”
Reportedly, storming the Interior Department building was part of what was called “a historic surge of Indigenous resistance,” which included over 100 arrests as protesters sat along the White House fence and demanded the Biden administration take action on combatting climate change, among other radically progressive topics of interest.
The protesters not only harmed security guards and cops but also vandalized an Andrew Jackson statue at the center of Lafayette Park, defacing it with the phrase “Expect Us,” which is apparently a battle-cry for the movement.
The group of rowdy, violent protesters also demanded Biden take action on stopping various pipelines, including the Minnesota-based Line 3 pipeline, which carries tar sands oil from Canada to Wisconsin and is considered a vital supply line.
Overall, the protests that took place that day received little fanfare from the mainstream media, and by now, we all know why.
