Tucker Carlson, Fox News’ highest-rated primetime host, isn’t remotely afraid of taking on the highest-ranking members of the U.S. government, which was evidenced in his recent takedown of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley.
According to the Washington Examiner, in the wake of Milley’s public and controversial defense of the U.S. military teaching critical race theory in military academies, Carlson called Milley a “pig” and accused the general of being “stupid” while dissecting several viral moments Milley generated with his response to critics who are labeling today’s military leaders as “woke.”
Carlson goes all in
The Fox News host certainly held nothing back in his sharp critique of Milley’s performance on the job, as he tore into the nation’s highest-ranking military commander, accusing Milley of only ascending to his powerful position through his connections, and not because of his qualifications.
“On the issue of critical race theory, etc., a lot of us have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is. But I do think it’s important, actually, for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read,” Milley said in a clip Carlson played for his viewers. “I want to understand white rage, and I’m white.”
Carlson was especially heated over Milley’s use of the term “white rage,” slamming the general for using the term which Carlson said equates with 19th-century scientific racist beliefs.
“[Milley] didn’t get that job because he’s brilliant, or because he’s brave, or because the people who know him respect him. He is not, and they definitely don’t. Milley got the job because he is obsequious. He knows who to suck up to, and he is more than happy to do it,” Carlson said.
“He’s not just a pig. He’s stupid,” Carlson said, following the airing of another clip in which Milley appeared to take offense over being accused of running a “woke” military, a clip in which Milley added, “I’ve read Karl Marx, I’ve read Lenin, that doesn’t make me a communist.”
“CRT is going to split our military”
Carlson isn’t the only person concerned about Milley and other members of President Joe Biden’s administration pushing critical race theory on today’s military troops, as well as in classrooms of young children.
According to Fox News, Milley’s recent defense of teaching CRT came under fire from several Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL), and Michael Waltz (R-FL), who in a recent interview both expressed similar concerns about CRT being taught in the military and in our children’s schools.
“CRT is going to split our military ranks like it splits our young children in schools. It has no place there, it has no place in K-12 education, and the United States government should not be funding that,” Donalds, who happens to be Black, told host Laura Ingraham.
Waltz, a former U.S. Army Green Beret, echoed Donalds’ criticism of Milley, adding, “I legitimately think he is confusing critical race theory for some type of diversity training or a history class on fascism and communism.”
It’s truly a shame that out of all of the issues America faces under the new president, we have to worry about the potential long-term effects of pushing CRT in our military and in our schools. But, as we can say about most of the disastrous situations plaguing this great nation at the moment: This is Biden’s America.
