Trump tweets that he is all alone in the White House at Christmas

Democrats are trying to make President Trump as miserable as possible, and they are succeeding.

Christmas got canceled for Donald Trump, as he remained behind at the White House while his family flew to Florida to celebrate the holiday.

Trump made everyone aware of the fact he was alone at the White House with a Christmas Eve tweet: “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!”

Standing Firm

Early last week, there were rumors Trump was going to bend on the wall and accept a $1.6 billion spending bill for immigration by Democrats.

The caveat to that legislation was that the money in the bill could not be used for the construction of the wall.

It did not take long for Trump’s base to voice their opinion on the matter, with many telling the president shutting down the government was okay with them if it meant getting funding for the wall.

In a last-minute pivot, Trump said that he would not sign the legislation as it was written, absolutely stunning Democrats, who thought they had a deal.

Trump decided to stay behind in Washington while everyone else in his family went to Mar-a-Lago in the hopes Democrats would break and give him the budget he wanted. “I am in the Oval Office & just gave out a 115 mile long contract for another large section of the Wall in Texas. We are already building and renovating many miles of Wall, some complete. Democrats must end Shutdown and finish funding. Billions of Dollars, & lives, will be saved!” he tweeted.

Time Running Out

In less than a week, the Republican edge in the House will be gone.

When the House goes back in session after the New Year, Democrats will officially have the majority and a completely new agenda.

Rather than worrying about Americans and the problems this country is currently facing, they will no doubt start to work in impeachment proceedings to try to oust Trump from office.

Even if they don’t succeed, there is little doubt they will have this administration so occupied with the impeachment that little if anything will be accomplished during the last two years of Trump’s term.

This is not only bad for Trump but also the Republican party.

This is a major fail on the part of Senate Republicans, who still hold a majority, in that they were unable to get wall funding approved while Republicans are in charge of the White House, the Senate, and the House.

Trump saying he was alone in the White House was prophetic in a way, as he will surely be on his own over the next two years to get anything done for We the People.
