Trump stuns with divorce announcement

 March 29, 2024

Former President Donald Trump is making news headlines for claiming that "nobody" who gets married at his Mar-a-Lago estate gets divorced.

Trump, according to Page Six, made the claim while attending the wedding celebration of one of his friends - which, indeed, took place at Trump's Florida residence.

We will look at what Trump had to say in a moment. But, the big question that many are asking is whether Trump's claim - that "nobody" who gets married at Mar-a-Lago gets divorced - also applies to Trump.

The former president, after all, did marry former First Lady Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump's speech

According to Page Six, this all took place last Friday.

"Donald Trump joked about divorce while attending his friends’ lavish Mar-a-Lago wedding celebration, a source tells Page Six exclusively," the outlet reports, adding "The former president attended Jarod and Alexa Malnik’s rehearsal dinner at his ritzy Palm Beach, Fla., estate last Friday."

Page Six goes on to report that, during the event, Trump said a few words, and it was at this point that Trump made the claim that people who marry at Mar-a-Lago do not get divorced.

"This is a great couple. Nobody gets divorced ever when they get married at Mar-a-Lago," Trump reportedly said.

But, he didn't stop there. The former president also claimed that 20 years down the road, after a couple marries at Mar-a-Lago, the couple declares their marriage to be "the greatest marriage ever."

For Trump too?

Donald married Melania at Mar-a-Lago back in 2005, which means that their twentieth anniversary is approaching.

The former president's remarks last Friday have some people asking whether Trump and Melania will stay together and whether Trump and Melania, 20 years after the Mar-a-Lago marriage, believe that they have "the greatest marriage ever."

Tabloids will have you believe that Donald and Melania are on the verge of breaking up - that Melania is fed up with Donald, and has already distanced herself from him.

Newsweek, for example, is one of those outlets that has tried to make a big deal out of the fact that Melania has been absent from the campaign trail. People magazine, similarly, has pushed the idea that Melania is choosing her and Donald's son, Barron Trump, over Donald.

Outside of these tabloid-like reports, however, there are no signs that there is anything wrong with the relationship between Donald and Melania. In fact, just recently, they made a public appearance together. Much to the dismay of the political left, it appears that the Trumps' marriage is as solid as ever.
