Trump to speak at CPAC in first appearance as former president

Since departing from the White House on January 20th, former President Donald Trump has laid low. That, however, is about to change.

Breitbart reports that Trump is getting ready to make his first public appearance in about a month.

Trump to speak at CPAC

This first public appearance as the former U.S. president, according to Breitbart, will take place on the last day of this month, Sunday, February 28th.

Trump is scheduled to give a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), on the final day of the event, which will be held from February 25 to February 28.

Fox News reports that “Trump will be talking about the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement.” Also, the outlet reports that Trump is expected “to take on President Biden’s ‘disastrous amnesty and border policies,'” quoting “a source familiar” with the speech that Trump is expected to give.

It’s worth noting that, typically, the annual CPAC conference is held in the Washington D.C. area. This year it will be held in Orlando, Florida. Florida, of course, is where President Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump now reside.

What this suggests is that, despite the wishes of many D.C. Republicans, Trump will remain a major figure, if not the major figure, in the Republican Party.

The silence is finally coming to an end

Since leaving the White House, Trump has mostly kept quiet, much to the dismay of his followers. This silence was aided by social media sites that decided to permanently ban Trump from their platforms in the wake of the January 6th riot.

Trump finally made a public statement last weekend after being acquitted in the Senate impeachment trial.

“Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun,” Trump wrote. “In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!”

The former president also gave a couple of interviews recently after the passing of Conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh. And, on Saturday, Breitbart released a separate report indicating that Trump has plans to ensure that every race in the 2022 midterm election has a “MAGA-approved” candidate.

All signs seem to indicate that Trump is slowly making his return to the public scene.
