For the past three years now, America has seen an outpouring of unmitigated hatred and threats of violence — sometimes acted upon — from the left against President Donald Trump and his family, often parroted if not spurred on by elected Democrats and the predominately liberal establishment media.
It would appear that the constant barrage of anti-Trump sentiment has compelled yet another individual to lash out physically, as the president’s middle son, Eric Trump, was spat upon by a waitress Tuesday night in Chicago, and the U.S. Secret Service had to get involved.

While in the Windy City, Trump made an additional stop at an upscale cocktail lounge in the city known as The Aviary, and that is where things took an unwelcome turn and law enforcement was forced to step in.
A reporter for the WMAQ-TV NBC affiliate in Chicago, Mary Ann Ahern, announced on Twitter, “Hearing of incident at Aviary tonight, an employee allegedly spit on son of @realDonaldTrump who is visiting Chicago, offender now in US Secret Service custody.”
Ahern confirmed in a follow-up tweet that the Trump son involved in the incident was, in fact, Eric Trump, who was spotted leaving the bar, and she later posted a picture from the scene showing a handful of Chicago police officers standing on a street corner near the bar, presumably discussing the situation at hand.

Sad state of affairs
Ahern’s reporting was in turn confirmed by the chief communications officer for the Chicago Police Department, Anthony Guglielmi, in a tweet that linked to the initial report from Ahern.

WMAQ-TV reported that The Aviary released a statement condemning the “unfortunate” spitting incident and noted that the employee in question had been placed on leave.
The statement further decried the outrageous reactions from both sides of the political divide — Trump-hating leftists cheering on the spitting employee, Trump supporters threatening the business and other employees — and said, “We hope this incident can, at least, serve to illuminate the current absurdity of the discourse in our politics. As fellow Americans and citizens, we should all aim higher.”
The Chicago Tribune reported that the waitress was initially placed under arrest, but was later released after Eric Trump declined to press charges.
He did, however, say in a statement, “It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems.”
All media inquiries for comment were routed to either the Trump Organization, which similarly condemned the incident, and the Secret Service, which provided no comment.
