Trump shows Biden and the Dems what a GOP victory in the midterms will look like

President Joe Biden and the Democrats have been put on notice.

Former President Donald Trump just gave Biden and the Democrats a sneak peek at what they are in for should the Republicans win back Congress later this year, the Western Journal reports

The game is up

Trump’s sneak peek came during the rally that he held last Saturday night in Commerce, Georgia. There, Trump said that, upon victory in the midterms, Republicans will look to fix the economic crisis bought about, at least in part, by Biden and the left’s policies.

“One of the first things we must do when Republicans retake Congress is stop Joe Biden’s inflation nightmare,” Trump said. “With your vote, we will bring Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi’s socialist spending spree to a screeching halt. We’ll do that very quickly.”

Trump, however, didn’t stop there.

In another part of his speech, he said, “when we retake Congress, Republicans will ban critical race theory in our schools, ban it in our military, and ban it … in every part of our federal, state, and local governments.”

The bad news for Biden and the Democrats is that polls continue to show that Republicans hold a significant edge heading into the 2022 election season.

One of the most recent polls, from Rasmussen Reports, has Republicans winning the generic congressional ballot by a margin of 50% to 39%. Real Clear Politics has Republicans, on average, beating the Democrats by a smaller margin of 45.9% to 42.3%.

Republicans only need to net a handful of seats to win back the House, and an even smaller number of seats to win the Senate. There are no guarantees, but it appears that even the Democrats agree that the Republicans have the upper hand going into the midterms.

What about 2024?

Trump has been flirting with announcing his 2024 candidacy for months now. He did so again on Saturday.

“This is the year we’re going to take back the House, we’re going to take back the Senate, and we are going to take back our country,” Trump said. “And, in 2024, most importantly, we are going to take back that gorgeous, beautiful, breathtaking White House.”

At least one recent poll does have Trump ahead of Biden by six percentage points in a potential 2024 matchup.
