Our country has seen an almost 3% increase in homelessness in the last year, largely due to the massive increase in homelessness in California.
But while Democrats are trying to blame the problem on the federal government, President Donald Trump fired off a few tweets on Christmas Day to put California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on notice, Breitbart reported.
When liberals are in charge…
Every state in our Republic has a homeless problem, but not like what we see in the two liberal havens of New York and California.
As of 2018, there were 129,972 homeless people in California and 91,897 in New York. (That is roughly 40% of the homeless population throughout the entire country.) And when California’s homeless population rose by more than 16% in one year, it was largely responsible for a 2.7% increase nationally.
Both California and New York happen to be states loaded with lifelong politicians who have done little for their constituents during their time in office, especially in California. Reps. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have been in office for decades, yet they are now blaming the homeless problem in the state on Donald Trump. Even Gov. Newsom has made it very clear he blames this problem on the Trump administration:

It took a few days for Trump to catch up, but someone must have put that clip in front of him over the holiday, because Trump finally responded on Christmas Day.
Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California. If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved! https://t.co/2z8zM37PUA

While Newsom blames the entire problem on federal housing, most experts say that is but one part of this epidemic. Many of the homeless are in this situation due to mental problems or drug addictions, so added housing would not necessarily solve the problem anyway.
The fact of the matter is that California has been mismanaged for decades. Liberal Californian politicians put laws in place that promote the abuse of federal and state programs, then wonder why nobody in the state wants to work.
Why aren’t Reps. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters doing more for their suffering districts? Oh, that’s right — they’re too busy conducting a coup against Donald Trump. By the way, Waters, Schiff, and Pelosi represent districts that are virtually the dual epicenters of homelessness in California — Los Angeles and San Fransisco, and Gov. Newsom himself was the mayor of San Fransisco for seven years prior to his ascension to the governor’s mansion in 2019.
These politicians have represented districts plagued by homelessness, drug use, and crime for decades — but of course, it’s Trump’s fault that things are only getting worse.
