Trump shoots back at reporter who complained about social distancing at New Jersey presser: Report

President Donald Trump flipped the script on a left-leaning reporter at a recent press conference at his New Jersey resort.

According to the Daily Caller, President Trump fired back at a reporter’s complaint that attendees at the New Jersey presser weren’t following the state’s social distancing guidelines by noting that the event could be classified as a “political activity.” He said, “They have exceptions. Political activity. And it’s also a peaceful protest.”

“The news is fake”

It was alleged by some that reporters present at Trump’s presser weren’t all wearing masks at the start of the event. However, staffers later passed out masks to those in attendance, as evidenced by in tweet shared by Reuters’ Jeff Mason, the Daily Caller reported.

Of course, that didn’t stop those on the left from pouncing. Trump was quick on his feet though, and he shot back at the complaining reporter earned him cheers from those in the audience.

“To me, they look like they all have masks on,” the president said, according to the Daily Caller. “You have an exclusion in the law. It says peaceful protest or political activity, right? It says exactly, political activity or peaceful protests. And you can call it political activity, but I would call it peaceful protests because they heard you were coming up and they know the news is fake. They understand it better than anybody.”

Holding us back

As always, those in the mainstream media aren’t being shy about exposing their biases against Trump. While most journalists were silent about the protests across the nation against alleged police brutality, they made a big deal over a group of two dozen people in the back of a room.

Their hypocrisy only becomes more obvious as the days go on. But Trump isn’t letting it slide without putting up a fight.

According to the Daily Caller, Trump went as far as to say at the end of his presser that the media is holding the country back.

“If the press in this country were honest, if it wasn’t corrupt, if it wasn’t fake,” he said, “our country would be so much further ahead.”
