Former President Donald Trump has now responded to U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) calling him a "scared puppy."

The former president did so by way of his Truth Social account.

He did not hold back.

But, before we get to what Trump had to say, let us put his comments into context.

"I saw a scared puppy"

A big news item last week was the third indictment of Trump by Jack Smith - the special counsel whom the Biden administration has chosen to use the legal system to target President Joe Biden's top 2024 rival - Trump.

This third indictment accuses Trump of wrongdoing in relation to the events that took place at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump made the trip to Washington, D.C., on Thursday to plead not guilty to the charges, which include conspiracy to defraud, obstruction, and conspiracy of rights.

The following day, on Friday, Pelosi, the former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, made an appearance on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports. And, during that appearance, she was asked to comment upon this most recent indictment of Trump.

During her remarks, Pelosi said such things as, "He knows the truth that he lost the election, and now he’s got to face the music."

But, Pelosi also claimed that Trump looks like he lost the "bravado or confidence" that he usually has. Pelosi, referring to Trump's arrival at the D.C. courthouse, went so far as to claim, "When I saw his coming out of his car, and this or that, I saw a scared puppy."

"She is a wicked witch"

Trump did not immediately respond to Pelosi's remarks. It is not immediately clear why, but he waited until Sunday morning.

"I purposely didn’t comment on Nancy Pelosi’s very weird story concerning her husband, but now I can because she said something about me, with glee, that was really quite vicious," Trump wrote.

The former president continued, "'I saw a scared puppy,' she said, as she watched me on television, like millions of others, that didn’t see that. I wasn’t 'scared.'"

"Nevertheless, how mean a thing to say!" Trump added. "She is a Wicked Witch whose husband's journey from hell starts and finishes with her. She is a sick & demented psycho who will someday live in HELL!"

Yikes! But, the congresswoman did bring it on herself with the unfounded remarks that she made on MSNBC. At the time of this writing, Pelosi has not responded to Trump's statement.
