Trump issued major court victory over Mary Trump

Former President Donald Trump has won a resounding triumph, but not in the political sphere, after announcing his eagerly awaited bid for the 2024 presidency.

According to Bloomberg News, a nudge led to the dismissal of a multi-million dollar fraud lawsuit filed by his niece Mary Trump.

“A 2001 family settlement agreement in which Mary Trump cashed out of her inheritance ‘unambiguously’ waived her right to file any future claims against her famous uncle and aunt, former federal judge Maryanne Trump, according to a ruling Monday by New York Supreme Court Justice Robert Reed,” Bloomberg News said.

“The settlement did not require defendants to make true and correct representations to the plaintiff,” Judge Reed said.

“If the plaintiff did not wish to forego suing on fraud she might discover in the future, she could have insisted that the releases be conditioned on the truth and accuracy of the financial information provided by defendants,” the ruling went on.

“It is encouraging to see one frivolous suit after another be tossed,” the former president’s attorney Alina Habba said. “I am happy the Trump family can put this ridiculous case to rest.”

Decision appealed

Roberta Kaplan, Mary Trump’s attorney, promised to appeal the decision and argued that the judge had taken too long “given the age of the defendants, not to mention the fact that one of them intends to announce today that he is running again for President.”

He said that the judge’s decision was “both incorrect and disappointing. In our view, the court overlooked applicable case law and the well-pleaded allegations in Mary Trump’s complaint,” he said.

Trump declared on Tuesday that he will run for president in 2024. Trump said that he will run for president in 2024 while speaking from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

“America’s comeback starts right now,” Trump said to a room full of supporters. “Unlike other presidents, I kept my promises.”

“The world was at peace, America was prospering, and our country was on track for an amazing future— because I made big promises to the American People and, unlike other Presidents, I kept my promises,” he said. “Under our leadership, we were a great and glorious nation, something you haven’t heard for quite a long period of time. We were a strong nation, and importantly we were a free nation. Now, we are a nation in decline. We are a failing nation.”

Trump declared: “I am tonight again announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.”
