Donald Trump had some kind words for Justice Ruth Ginsburg today…
Before heading on his way to leave for the Group of Seven (G-7) summit in France, President Trump told a crowd of reporters that he wishes Ginsburg the best of luck on her fight against cancer.
The president stated:
“I hope she does really well. And our thoughts and prayers are with her.”
Trump went on to say:
“She’s pulled through a lot. She’s strong. Very tough. We wish her well.”
Trump’s statement came only one day after it was revealed that Ruth Ginsburg is being treated for pancreatic cancer – a devastating form of cancer that is often the most aggressive.
Ginsburg has reportedly completed three weeks of radiation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The treatment included the insertion of a stent in Ginsburg’s bile duct, according to a statement by the court.
In 2018, Ginsburg had a special surgery performed to remove cancer from her left lung. She also beat colon cancer in 1999 and pancreatic cancer in 2009.
Trump is absolutely right to say that this woman is tough. So many forms of cancer – and yet she has managed to pull through each time.
Right now, it’s definitely obvious that Democrats are uncomfortable with the news. They can’t imagine that Ginsburg will have to leave the Supreme Court someday. And this news only adds to their frustration as the come to terms with the fact.
The question everyone has at this point is simple: Will Justice Ginsburg be able to stay on the Supreme Court until Trump leaves office? To find the answer to that question, we’ll have to wait to find out.
