How did the details get leaked to The New York Times last week about alleged Russian meddling in the 2020 U.S. presidential election?
President Donald Trump has charged that it is Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) who is to blame, the Daily Caller reports.
Just another Shifty Schiff leak. Isn’t there a law about this stuff? https://t.co/JWE0oPhiw9

Last week, the House Intelligence Committee was briefed on alleged election interference by the Russians. Soon after, The New York Times reported that new intelligence reports showed that Russians were trying to get Trump re-elected.
Trump, for his part, immediately went off, claiming that it was a fake news story. Meanwhile, liberal-slanted outlets like MSNBC accused the president of being a Russian agent.
Several days later, even disgraced liberal media outlet CNN debunked the story, with numerous national intelligence officials confirming the briefer — Shelby Pierson — stretched the truth a bit when there, in fact, was not enough evidence to prove Russia was specifically trying to help Trump.
Later, reports alleged the Russians are also trying to help Democrat presidential contender Bernie Sanders.
The source of the leaks
President Trump seems to think the source of such leaks could be Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). It should be noted, however, that this is not the first time Trump has made this accusation against Schiff.
The Daily Caller reported in mid-January that Trump stated: “All I see of these Democrats, like Adam Schiff — it’s all he does, he’ll have a meeting, and then he’ll leave, and he’ll call up the meeting, and then I’ll have a meeting and then he’ll leave. He left meetings where people are being interviewed, and then all of a sudden they say a story about what’s going on inside the meetings.”
Oddly enough, Sanders himself also recently accused Schiff of doing the same. “The only people that we’ve seen trying to influence the investigation are former [FBI] Director [James] Comey and Democrats in Congress — and that would include Senator [Dianne] Feinstein, Representative Schiff — who have both selectively leaked to the media witness interviews,” he said.
This is also not the first time Schiff has bent the rules in his favor, and he has been proven to have blatantly lied to the American people on more than one occasion. So why hasn’t Schiff been investigated? Why is Attorney General Bill Barr not bringing Schiff to justice?
These, perhaps, are a few questions Republicans can ask Barr when he testifies before the House at the end of March.
