If Democrats have their way, Trump will be behind bars.
Sadly, Democrat Congressman Ted Lieu is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill and is claiming President Trump could possibly be brought up on four felony charges.
Giuliani and His Big Mouth
Rudy Giuliani was brought on to Trump’s legal team to try to put an end to the Russian investigation.
However, now all he has done is create fodder for Democrats to work yet another angle at impeaching Trump.
This time, Lieu is trying to turn a personal legal arrangement into a campaign violation.
When Giuliana told the media Trump did in fact reimburse Cohen for this $130,000 payment to Daniels, liberals went into a feeding frenzy.
According to Rep. Lieu, Trump could be charged with the following four felonies:
- An in-kind coordinated contribution above limits
- Straw donor (Cohen) used to cover up source of contribution
- False statements on financial disclosures
- False statements on banking forms
As usual, though, the Democrats seem to have forgotten a key fact…
Trump did NOT use campaign money to pay Cohen.
Giuliani even stated as much, saying, “It’s not campaign money. No campaign financial violation. The funneled the money through a law firm and the president repaid it.”
He continued, “He didn’t know about the specifics of it, as far as I know, but he did know about the general arrangement, that Michael would take care of things like this.”
After rumors started flying all over the internet about it, the President himself chimed in via Twitter to straighten things out.
Trump made it very clear the payment made had nothing to do with the campaign or campaign monies.
He also once again denied allegations of the affair and further explained the money received by Cohen was in fact a retainer.
We don’t expect the truth to get in the way of a false narrative by the Dems, though.
