Rashida Tlaib breaks with Biden on Linda Sarsour: ‘You don’t get it’

A top congressional Democrat lost her cool this week in a tweet that broke with the party’s newly confirmed presidential nominee, Joe Biden.

According to a post on conservative commentator Sean Hannity’s blog, Tlaib defended Linda Sarsour, described as a “far-left activist,” after Biden made clear that he wanted nothing to do with her.

“No role”

According to Hannity’s article, Sarsour appeared on camera at the Democratic National Convention, which was held in Milwaukee last week. Soon after, Biden’s team issued a statement clarifying that Sarsour “has no role in the Biden campaign whatsoever.”

According to a Fox News report cited by Hannity, Sarsour was one of two radical activists “kicked out of the Women’s March organization due to concerns of anti-Semitism following statements against Israel and claims that Jewish activists were being excluded from the movement. Sarsour has also been a vocal supporter of the BDS movement that calls for boycotts, divestment, and sanctions against Israel,” Fox noted.

It seems Biden, for his part, doesn’t want any of that associated with his campaign.

“Joe Biden has been a strong supporter of Israel and a vehement opponent of anti-Semitism his entire life, and he obviously condemns her views and opposes BDS, as does the Democratic platform,” Biden spokesman Andrew Bates said of Sarsour, according to Fox. “She has no role in the Biden campaign whatsoever.”

“Sick and tired”

It was that statement that apparently prompted Tlaib to lash out in Sarsour’s defense.

I am so sick and tired of folks going after [Sarsour] and other Palestinian activists for speaking the truth about oppression and injustice,” Tlaib wrote in a tweet, according to Hannity. “You don’t get it yet. We don’t stop until everyone is free. We will always outwork the hate.”

Take a look:

It’s hard to believe Tlaib would be willing to defend someone like Sarsour, but that’s what we get from the progressive left nowadays.

Biden can try all he wants to distance himself from it, but it seems this is the Democratic Party now — whether he likes or not.
