‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg hospitalized for ’24-hour bug’

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently went through a terrifying bout with pneumonia that nearly killed her. And fans of the show were worried after Goldberg was absent from the show Thursday.

Goldberg explained Monday that she’s “better now” but was hospitalized last week to deal with a “24-hour bug.”

Near Death

Goldberg missed roughly a full month of tapings at the beginning of the year. It was not revealed how serious her condition was until very recently.

Just a few weeks ago, when Goldberg returned to the show full time, she shared the details of what she had gone through.

Goldberg came down with pneumonia that evolved into sepsis, which could have killed her if doctors had not treated her in time.

Of course, when Goldberg was missing from the show last week, fans immediately expressed their concern.

On her most recent absence, Goldberg said, “I am here, I’m much better.

“I had a 24-hour bug, which landed me back in the hospital last week, which is why I missed y’all on Thursday.”

Goldberg also mentioned to fans how important it is to keep an eye on your health because of the “tiny little stuff out there that will kill you that you never think of.”

While Goldberg is about as liberal as they come, her role more recently seems to be as moderator between Behar and McCain.

In fact, Behar and McCain recently went at it again over immigration, and Goldberg had to step in between them to end the argument before it got out of control.

Goldberg was also responsible for cutting short a previous argument between McCain and Behar by going to commercial when the two almost appeared to be ready to come to blows.
