First Lady Jill Biden just proved, once again, that she is President Joe Biden’s handler as much as she is his wife.
The Daily Mail reports that the First Lady ended up having to “drag” Biden to Marine One after he landed himself in some hot water with reporters.
What happened?
The incident took place on Wednesday. President Biden took questions from reporters on the South Lawn of the White House alongside the First Lady as the two were getting ready to board Marine One for Wisconsin.
For Christians, this past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of the Lenten season when believers share in the passion of Christ. Biden approached reporters with the ashes that he received during Ash Wednesday mass still on his forehead.
Reporters began throwing questions at the President. Biden decided to go in his own direction, telling them that he has sacrificed “all sweets” for the Lenten season.
“And, you know me, I start off with deserts,” a smiling Biden said in an attempt to highlight the gravity of his sacrifice. “No ice cream, nothing,” he added.
Biden then fielded some questions about the Russian-Ukraine conflict. And, then things got a little controversial.
Biden on abortion
A reporter decided to ask Biden, given that he is a Catholic and Catholicism is flatly against abortion, whether or not he supports the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade, in which the U.S. Supreme Court discovered that the Constitution contains a right to have an abortion.
“I’ll tell you what,” Biden said. “I don’t want to get in a debate with you on Theology, but you know . . ..” As Biden was saying this, the First Lady came over to pull Biden away.
Biden briefly turned to his wife before adding, “anyway, I’m not going to make a judgment for other people.”
Biden, abruptly thereafter, ended the question and answer session and proceeded to board Marine One.
We have seen a lot of this sort of thing from Jill Biden, having to either pull her husband away from situations or having to help him get through situations. This has led many to refer to the First Lady as Biden’s babysitter, which is a sad state of affairs for our country.
