Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Insiders Discuss Engagement Rumors

 January 16, 2024

Insiders close to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have heard the engagement rumors and are dispelling them, saying they are false.

Contrary to rumors that the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end are engaged by early summer, sources close to the couple have informed TMZ that no proposal is imminent, as The Daily Wire reported.

They expressed uncertainty regarding the longevity of the relationship, stating that it was premature to determine whether it would progress beyond the dating phase.

According to the insiders, their relationship is reportedly still in the honeymoon phase, while other sources stated that the most difficult aspect is that Swift is about to embark on the international segment of "The Eras Tour."

The End of the Rumors

According to sources cited by TMZ, engagement rumors will no longer circulate once the celebrity couple has demonstrated how they handle being apart.

Kelce's football season is coming to a close, but on February 7, the "Shake It Off" singer will begin the next phase of her tour in Tokyo, Japan. It will continue until March 9th, after which she will take an additional two-month vacation.

Swift, 34, once more garnered attention over the weekend when she attended the frigid AFC Wild Card game to support Kelce and the Chiefs in their 26-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Swift was spotted post-game holding hands with Kelce, who was adorned in a jacket bearing his number.

Swift, who was dubbed "Person of the Year" by Time in 2023, detailed the duration of her relationship with Kelce, among other details, in an extensive interview.

Swift's Comments

“This all started when Travis [Kelce] very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift said.

“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”

“By the time I went to that first game [in September], we were a couple,” she added. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift continued.

“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
