Liberal billionaire George Soros has long been accused of using his vast wealth to fund leftist causes and foment dissent in various countries around the globe.
While it would be one thing if Soros was doing that solely with his own money, it has also been suspected that some of Soros’ activities are surreptitiously funded by U.S. taxpayers through various government programs, and watchdog group Judicial Watch says they have just uncovered evidence proving as much.
Judicial Watch reported that Soros’ globalist Open Societies Foundation has been subsidized by U.S. taxpayers with untold millions of dollars that were funneled through U.S.-funded entities and OSF-affiliated organizations, funds that were used to help further the “radical leftist agenda” pushed by Soros’s OSF.
That radical agenda would include: “seeking to destabilize legitimate governments, erase national borders, target conservative politicians, finance civil unrest, subvert institutions of higher education, and orchestrate refugee crises for political gain,” among other things.
U.S. tax dollars funneled to Soros organizations
A 30-page special investigative report was released by Judicial Watch which documented just a sampling of the U.S. taxpayer money funneled to Soros in a variety of streams, many of which may appear rather innocuous on the surface.
Those revenue streams flowing from the U.S. government to Soros are too numerous and intricate to list in detail here; suffice it to say that at the very least tens of millions of U.S. dollars have been documented as originating from U.S. taxpayers and ending up in OSF coffers.
That report also documented dozens of individuals who work for Soros’ organization that used to work in the U.S. government — particularly the Obama and Clinton administrations — which has created a concerning “nexus” between the two entities.
Those former government officials who are now affiliated with Soros are spread among the “highly sophisticated” operations and involved in such things as “academia, the legal system, labor, agriculture and ‘social justice’ organizations as well as religious and political groups.”
Why are we funding Soros’ leftist agenda?
The Judicial Watch report also noted that OSF had projected spending of at least $530 million in 2018. It is unclear how much of that $530 million was derived from U.S. taxpayers through various grants and programs.
Regardless of the actual total, the Judicial Watch report asked, “Why are U.S. taxpayers funding billionaire ‘philanthropist’ George Soros and his highly politicized Open Society Foundations?”
The report concluded, “The American public is owed accountability for how its taxes are spent by government agencies. Judicial Watch’s investigations and lawsuits will continue.”
Soros’ agenda is at odds with the interests of the U.S., and it is discouraging to discover that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being surreptitiously funneled to his organization and funding his subversive efforts around the world. Don’t we have better uses for the money than that?
