Seeing the need for some government programs isn't that difficult. A generation ago a national speed limit helped conserve fuel during a time of supply shortages. Inspection programs at restaurants keep food secure and Americans healthy.
But then there are others, like the "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" ideology that exploded in size under the departed President Joe Biden.
That program essentially discriminated against people based on their race and gender, and was pushed by leftists who claimed that their various "under-represented" social groups had to have special treatment.
So it happened, prompting President Donald Trump to campaign against it, and give executive orders that it be discontinued once he was in office.
Now a U.S. senator has explained the simple logic behind Trump's plan, in a single sentence.
"I think the American people have spoken very clearly … that the best way to stop discriminating against people on the basis of race and gender … is to stop discriminating against people on the basis of race and gender."
Kennedy's comment came in response to a question about Trump's orders that government DEI ideology offices be closed and those employees be on leave.
Many on social media gave a thumbs up to Kennedy.
"Wow, the definition of equality in one sentence! Who would thunk it could of been done?" said one.
Said another, "I couldn't agree more."

A federal agency has been accused of thumbing its nose at President Donald Trump's instructions to shut down the racist DEI programs that Joe Biden installed throughout the federal government.
It is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms that is accused of changing an employee's title from "chief diversity officer" to "senior executive" in order to get around Trump's orders to shut down the race-based programs and put those workers on leave.
Fox News reported that Rep. Eric Burlison said on social media, "The ATF defied @realDonaldTrump's order to place DEI workers on leave, instead giving their DEI officer a new title. They attack citizens' rights, ignore leadership, and act as though they're above the law. Enough is enough. Time to abolish the ATF!"
The report explained it was Lisa T. Boykin who was the ATF's "chief diversity officer." Then, suddenly, her title online became "senior executive."
"An archived link of the ATF's website reviewed by Fox Digital shows Boykin was listed as the chief diversity officer as recently as Tuesday — Trump's second day in the Oval Office — and now shows her as working as the agency's 'senior executive,'" the report charged.
Trump's executive order, issued when he took office Monday, terminated "illegal DEI and 'diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility' (DEIA) mandates, policies, programs, preferences, and activities in the Federal Government, under whatever name they appear.'"
The Office of Personnel Management shortly later instructed, "Send a notification to all employees of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) offices that they are being placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately as the agency takes steps to close/end all DEIA initiatives, offices and program."
An ATF official said, according to the report, that the organization followed directives from the Trump administration.
RedState explained, "We know what the left does when they don't get their way, and entrenched government bureaucrats who were all in on the Biden agenda are not going quietly. The message says the agency knows government employees are trying to disguise DEI by using new names and vague language. (This is documented.) It tells staff to report those violations for investigation."
The report noted under the Customs and Border Patrol, "the 'Diversity and Inclusion' webpage was mysteriously changed to 'Special Emphasis Programs.' Even more curious is the fact that CBP has now taken the entire webpage down."

Americans are fully briefed on President Donald Trump's agenda for America: No more DEI, "drill baby drill," an end to Joe Biden's weaponization of government, the DOGE, "two genders" and more.
Now the elites from around the globe, gathered at Davos, Switzerland, for an economic conference, are, too.
Trump was there to deliver his news:
He talks about a hiring freeze for the federal government, the new Department of Government Efficiency assigned to root out and eliminate spending corruption.
"I terminated the ridiculous and incredibly wasteful green new deal, I call it the green new scam," he said. "Withdrew from the one-sided Paris Climate Accord and ended the insane and costly electric vehicle mandate.
"We're gonna let people buy the car they want to buy. I declared a national energy emergency, that's so important, national energy emergency to unlock the liquid gold under our feet and pave the way for rapid approvals of new energy infrastructure," he said.
"The U.S. has the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on earth and we're going to use it," he said, to cut costs of goods and services.
Cutting costs for Americans has been another of his agenda points, as consumers saw inflation of well beyond 20% during Biden's term.
He said America soon will be a "manufacturing superpower" and the world capital for AI and crypto.
And a Davos panel admitted that Trump had defeated them.

There's already been a special congressional committee to investigate the events of Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.
That's when a few hundred Trump supporters protested what they saw as the suspect results of the 2020 presidential election. Many of them protested by walking into the Capitol, through doors often held open for them by security officers.
Actually, a few rioted and broke windows and such.
But the Joe Biden Department of Justice threw every charge at them that could be found, including some that were improper, and President Donald Trump now has pardoned almost all.
That committee, however, was set up by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on a partisan basis – she refused to allow nominated Republicans to join. And she selected her own anti-Trump members of the GOP.
The result was that they essentially orchestrated a televised trial of Trump, excluding evidence that support his concerns, hiring stage managers to present their anti-Trump condemnation the best they could. And they destroyed evidence going out the door.
Turns out, whatever they did, or didn't do, they were granted presidential pardons by Biden.
It's not over.
The Federalist is reporting that there's going to be a new J6 committee, in the Judiciary Committee, "to help Republicans uncover FBI abuses."
The goal will be to find out "what really happened" at the protest that day, "including the presence of FBI informants in the crowd, the placement and discovery of pipe bombs at party offices, and various other FBI abuses," the report explained.
To be led by Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the select subcommittee will build on what GOP investigators in the last Congress confirmed. Those results included 40,000 hours of security footage from that day being released.
And there were "interviews suppressed by [Liz] Cheney's committee that disputed her made-for-TV allegations." Congress later referred Cheney for prosecution over her tampering with star witness Cassidy Hutchinson. "Hutchinson, a low-level Trump aide, began dramatically changing her story after clandestine correspondence with the former Republican representative. Cheney, who was hand-selected by former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to run the committee and its televised show trial, accepted a pardon for her alleged witness tampering and other crimes she may have committed," the Federalist report said.
Cheney, in fact, was fired from Congress by her voters in the first election where they could do that, by a landslide.
House Speaker Mike Johnson has confirmed, "The Jan 6 Select Committee manipulated AND destroyed evidence — created a fake, phony narrative all to try and hurt Trump. They even hired a TV producer from the legacy media in a desperate attempt to legitimize what Americans knew was a total hoax and complete waste of time. Be assured of this: House Republicans WILL continue our investigation into this corrupt committee and it will be FULLY FUNDED so it can continue next Congress."
The report notes that evidence now has confirmed that Cheney suppressed evidence that Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the Capitol.
She falsely claimed she had "no evidence" to support that. In fact, Pelosi's own daughter released a video in which Pelosi admits Democrats held culpability for that day.

JERUSALEM – News emerged on Wednesday of the three female former Israeli hostages being held for at least part of the time during their 471 days in Gaza captivity in United Nations shelters as if the timing could not have more perfectly underscored U.S. President Donald Trump's executive order to defund UNRWA.
The accusation once again raises the specter of the United Nations being indivisible from the terrorist groups dominating the Gaza Strip. It is another nail in the coffin of legitimacy, which has consistently worn away at global bodies and humanitarian NGOs, which have parroted Hamas talking points and statistics.
The official X channel of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported: "Former hostages Romi, Emily, and Doron were held in United Nations shelters in Gaza, which were meant for civilians. The UN refuses to condemn Hamas for hiding hostages in civilian spaces."
In its message, the Israeli Foreign Ministry links to a report broadcast yesterday by the Israeli television Channel 13T, which states the following: "Two days after being released from Hamas captivity, after 471 days in captivity, Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbracher begin to recount today (Tuesday) what they experienced, the conditions of their captivity, as well as the places where they were held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas terrorists since they were kidnapped on Oct 7."
The channel's report added the women were hidden for part of the time in the United Nations shelters, temporary camps set up for those seeking refuge from the theater of war. It seems the terrorists holding the hostages – and there must be an assumption they were not the only ones – took advantage of the designation of the camps, knowing the IDF would be extremely unlikely – unless there was intel to suggest otherwise – to attack the compound, thus providing themselves with some security.
Additionally, Fox News Digital reported an exclusive story about captured terrorists who were interrogated confessing that Israeli captives were held at different times at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
About a month ago, the IDF and Israel Security Agency conducted a wide scale operation at the hospital apprehending some 240 Hamas terrorists. Included in this group was Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital's director, who has become something of a cause celebre for protesters across the globe, who without any evidence or experience in these matters have confidently exclaimed he is not a Hamas member, and have demanded Israel release him.
It is a request Israel has rebuffed, claiming its security services have gathered intelligence he not only allowed Hamas to infiltrate the hospital, but actively collaborated with the terrorist group.
Another captured terrorist, Anas Muhammad Faiz al-Sharif, who worked at the hospital as a cleaning supervisor and joined the Nukhba forces of Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades in 2021, told Israeli interrogators the northern Gaza facility was viewed as "a safe haven for them because the [Israeli] military cannot directly target it."
He revealed that inside the hospital, terrorists distributed grenades and mortars, along with equipment for ambushing IDF troops and tanks, according to Fox News Digital.
The news outlet requested a response from the World Health Organization, which provided some boilerplate International Humanitarian Law being very clear and that healthcare workers and facilities were off-limits.
"They must not be attacked. They must not be used for military purposes. The protection of healthcare also includes the prohibition against combatants using health facilities for military purposes. IHL is also clear that even if healthcare facilities are being used for military purposes, there are stringent conditions which apply to taking action against them, including a duty to warn and to wait after warning and even then, disproportionate attacks are strictly prohibited."
Even if one looked especially hard, you will not find a condemnation of Hamas anywhere in the statement; and the idea on the one hand according to IHL combatants must not use medical facilities as cover for their military operations, but if they do they are not permitted to be attacked is laughable. No wonder with one of the first strokes of his pen after the inaugural, U.S. President Donald Trump immediately decided to defund the WHO.
Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and former Trump National Security Council official suggested the president's pick for U.N. ambassador, Elise Stefanik, would be entirely justified in launching investigations into agencies such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNRWA, and the WHO, demanding they turn over documents and key personnel.

JERUSALEM – U.S. President Donald Trump kept his campaign promises in the first hours of his second term, signing dozens of executive orders to undo the damage of the previous four years of the Biden presidency.
One of those involved – with immediate effect – the defunding of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, as the Trump team has decided to suspend any foreign assistance for 90 days pending reviews.
UNRWA, which is the only U.N. agency that has responsibility for one people – namely the Palestinians – has been in Trump's crosshairs before.
In 2018, during his first term, the president cut the agency's funding by some $300 million or about one-quarter of its budget. And this was before Oct. 7. Since then, NGO's such as U.N. Watch have provided the receipts for just how compromised an organization UNRWA is, and how tightly it is enmeshed with terrorist leaders in Gaza and Lebanon.
This fact was brought home most starkly during the Hamas-led Oct. 7 massacre on Israel's southern communities. Despite United Nations protestations, the global body had to reluctantly admit at least nine of its staff members "may have been involved" in the terrorist attack, which claimed the lives of some 1,200 Israelis and foreign workers.
A White House policy adviser for the incoming Trump administration highlighted the rationale behind this move, stating, "The United States and American citizens have been some of the most generous people in the entire world. But at this point, we have to understand that foreign policy is domestic policy, and if this is not aligned with our interests, then Uncle Sam should not be opening up his pocketbook any longer."
Former President Joe Biden signed a one-year ban on U.S. funding to UNRWA, as even his administration was disturbed by the proof of its employees' depraved criminality in taking part in the October 2023 butchery.
Earlier in January, U.N. Watch published an extensive and explosive report which highlighted the depths of the collaboration between UNRWA officials and operatives in Gaza, accusing the U.N. body of forming an "unholy alliance with Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist organizations."

The end of the green new deal and the end of the electric vehicle mandate came Monday when President Donald Trump was inaugurated. "You will be able to buy the car you want," said President Donald Trump.
Announcing "The Golden Age of America begins right now," he said no longer will American taxes enrich other countries, but the new "External Revenue Service" will collect tariffs from foreign sources to enrich Americans.
He said the new Department of Government Efficiency, already proposed, soon will be official, to eliminate the overspending imposed on America by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who encouraged spending trillions of dollars, hitting consumers with massive inflation.
Engineering gender ideology in government is about to end, and he will restore "fair, equal and impartial justice," by ending the past administration's weaponization of the government against political enemies, "something I know something about," he said.
Starting now, the government recognizes "only two genders, male and female," he said.
The military now has only one mission: "defeating America's enemies."
The southern border now is an "emergency," he said, and foreign drug cartels are terrorists.
Government censorship now is over, he said.
His comments came just moments after he took the oath of office and became the nation's 47th president with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts administering the oath.
"I return to the presidency, confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success, a tide of change is sweeping the country. We must be honest about the challenges we face while they are plentiful, they will be annihilated by this great momentum that the world is now witnessing in the United States of America.:
He pointed out the problems he's been handed by a Democrat administration: "We now have a government that cannot manage even a simple crisis at home, while at the same time stumbling into a continuing catalog of catastrophic events abroad. It fails to protect our magnificent law abiding American citizens, but provides sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals, many from prisons and mental institutions that have illegally entered our country from all over the world."
"All of this will change starting today," he declared.
Alaska's mountain now is Mt. McKinley and it's the Gulf of America, not Gulf of Mexico, he announced.
He recognized that God saved his life from an assassin's bullet in Pennsylvania in order to "Make America Great Again."
He said he's using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to use police authorities to attack foreign gangs.

A pro-Trump state senator in Georgia, thrown to the ground and arrested for going to the legislature to hear a state of the state address from the governor, is thanking Georgians for their support at this time.
He's also thanking hospital staff for examining his hand that was injured when he was thrown to the floor.
There's been no confirmation on whether charges will result from him being confronted by, blocked by, thrown to the ground by, and arrested, by officials in the legislature.
"Thank you to all the patriots who have shown their support today. I have a Constitutional duty and will be back in the legislature tomorrow," he said.
WND had reported when the attack followed orders that he be barred from the House floor by an "anti-Trump" Georgia House speaker.
It apparently was not a "House" session that Moore tried to attend, but the state of the state address from Gov. Brian Kemp.
He was slammed to the floor by police and arrested.
Moore had been punished with banishment for commenting on the career, negatively, of the late House Speaker David Ralston.
He also had been dropped from the Senate Republican Caucus over his demands for a special legislative session to investigate Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who hired her paramour at the cost of $600,000 in tax money to create a failed organized crime case against President-elect Donald Trump.
She's still trying to move forward on that case, even though she and her paramour both have been thrown off the case by higher courts for the appearance of impropriety.
Social media video and explanations document how Moore "just got handcuffed & arrested by the RINO House Speaker after he tried to attend the State of the State session to do his job."
The report said, "Moore tried to enter the Chamber and got physically blocked from entering. They stationed cops and guards outside the door, and when he tried to get in, they wrestled him to the ground (LITERAL ASSAULT). Moore got suspended from the GOP Caucus last year after he called for the impeachment of Fani Willis. The State establishment led by Brian Kemp decided to put a target on his back because his advocacy to impeach Willis embarrassed them on a national stage. What just happened is super unconstitutional, and people need to get locked up."
Moore had told an officer "This is a joint session of the General Assembly. Your House rules do not apply. I'm going into the chamber."
Moore then was pushed to the ground and surrounded by state patrol officers.
Moore's comments about Ralston came when there was a plan to name a building at a university in his memory. Moore's opinion of Ralston? "One of the most corrupt Georgia leaders that we are ever going to see in my lifetime."

Rep. James Comer, the head of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has dispatched a letter to President-elect Donald Trump's attorney general nominee, Pamela Bondi, suggesting that the Department of Justice over the coming few years could hold James Biden, Joe Biden's brother, accountable for his lies.
The request comes out of the House investigation into the influence-peddling operations of the Biden family over the years Joe Biden was vice president and then president.
It was earlier reported that the family took in tens of millions of dollars through the scheming.
Hunter Biden, of course, cannot be prosecuted because his father handed him a free pass for all crimes committed over the last 11 years. However, Joe Biden has not yet given his brother the same presidential pardon protections, although he still could while he is in office for a few days.
Comer's letter to Bondi pointed out that Joe Biden obstructed the congressional investigation, and that the statements from James Biden to Congress weren't the truth.
He said, "President Biden's obstruction of the Committees' impeachment inquiry is itself impeachable conduct. The legacy President Biden leaves behind is having led the most dishonest and corrupt administration in American history. President Biden repeatedly told—or used White House personnel to tell—the American people he would not pardon his son. That was a lie.
"President Biden continues to lie, now falsely claiming '[n]o reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter's cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong.' In fact, a unanimous jury of Hunter Biden's peers in Delaware found him guilty on all counts, and in California Hunter Biden pled guilty to felony charges.
"Though President Biden's saccharine (and wholly ironic) rantings of political persecution and weaponized prosecution of Hunter Biden are specious, they are inapplicable to the non-prosecution of his brother, James Biden, who has lied to the United States Congress and has faced no accountability to date. I write to encourage the Department under your leadership to hold James Biden accountable for lying to Congress to protect his brother, the soon-to-be former President Biden. No one should be above the law, regardless of his last name."
Just the News reported that the committee previously referred James Biden to the DOJ, but the Democrats running the department now have done nothing with potential charges.
Comer pointedly noted Joe Biden's grant of special privileges to Hunter Biden through the pardon.
"However, I write to remind incoming Department of Justice leadership of Hunter Biden's main accomplice in his influence-peddling schemes (aside from Joe Biden himself), whom the House Committees on Oversight, the Judiciary, and Ways and Means (the Committees) previously identified to Attorney General Merrick Garland as having misled Congress regarding Joe Biden's participation in his family's influence peddling and deserving of prosecution under federal law: James Biden, the President's younger brother."
In fact, House members had referred both Hunter and James Biden to the DOJ for criminal prosecution, charging them with lying to Congress.
"The committee argued that James Biden lied in his deposition when he claimed he did not meet with Hunter Biden's business partner Tony Bobulinski while the group pursued a deal with CEFC China Energy, one of the Chinese companies with connections to the Chinese Communist Party at the center of the impeachment inquiry. Hunter Biden contradicted his uncle's statements in his own testimony, claiming James Biden was present at a meeting with him and Bobulinski," the report said.
Comer explained, "Throughout the 118th Congress, the committees investigated the president's role in and knowledge of his family's international influence peddling schemes that have generated over $18 million for Biden family members and their related companies, and over $27 million when including the payments to their business associates, who often were used to transfer funds to Biden family members.
"This figure does not include an additional $8 million in loans given to Hunter Biden and James Biden—most of which has likely not been repaid. In total, since 2014, the committees accounted for over $35 million received by Biden family members, their companies, and business associates, which includes financial transactions described as loans. Despite much effort, the committees have not identified legitimate services warranting such lucrative payments. The fact that the timeframe covered by President Biden's sweeping pardon of his son aligns with this corrupt influence peddling scheme underscores that the entirety of President Biden and his family's corruption was not captured by the limited criminal charges brought by the Department under Attorney General Garland's leadership. "

Joe Biden is known, and has been known for years, for his verbal malapropisms. Blunders. Mistakes.
His talent in this regard hasn't diminished with age.
On Wednesday, announcing a ceasefire plan between Israel and the terrorists of Hamas, who invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, murdering some 1,200 Israelis and kidnapping another 250, he confirmed it was Hezbollah that did the massacre.
Hamas in the anti-Israel terror group in Gaza; Hezbollah is in Lebanon.
A report at the Right Scoop didn't grant any break for Biden, insisting, "President Brain Fart, aka Joe Biden, just declared in his victory speech on the new ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas that the October 7th massacre was committed by Hezbollah. Yes, he really said that and he didn't correct himself:"
