President Donald Trump's Department of Justice has opened a probe against New York City mayoral hopeful Andrew Cuomo, the Daily Wire reported. The investigation will determine whether he allegedly lied to Congress about his handling of COVID-19 while governor of New York.

Cuomo was eventually forced out of office over sexual misconduct allegations. However, that was after the then-governor made one of the deadliest decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of his COVID-19 response plan, Cuomo mandated that patients positive for the virus be admitted back into nursing homes. This may have resulted in thousands of needless deaths at these facilities.

When asked about it in front of Congress, Cuomo may have downplayed his role. "The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation of Andrew M. Cuomo, a front-runner in the New York City mayoral race, after Republicans accused him of lying to Congress about decisions he made during the coronavirus pandemic as governor," a source close to the matter shared.

Pandemic disaster

In a June 2024 hearing, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) claimed there was "overwhelming evidence" that a 2020 audit underreported nursing home deaths from COVID-19 by 46%. Cuomo was involved in that audit and was governor at the time of the issue.

Moreover, Comer said that Cuomo made "criminally false statements" about the issue. Rich Azzopardi, a Cuomo spokesman, said that the GOP had cooked up the investigation since his client was the frontrunner for Democrats.

"We have never been informed of any such matter, so why would someone leak it now? The answer is obvious: This is lawfare and election interference, plain and simple — something President Trump and his top Department of Justice officials say they are against," Azzopradi claimed.

The spokesman added that Cuomo "testified truthfully to the best of his recollection about events from four years earlier, and he offered to address any follow-up questions from the subcommittee — but from the beginning this was all transparently political." However, as Fox News reported, the matter had been referred to the Department of Justice under then-President Joe Biden and ignored.

Cuomo made the decision to send patients infected COVID-19 back to nursing homes in an effort to alleviate hospital overcrowding. Instead, it became a way for the virus to spread like wildfire through the most vulnerable population.

Demanding justice

A March 2022 report by the New York state comptroller said that the Health Department under Cuomo "was not transparent in its reporting of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes" and "understated the number of deaths at nursing homes by as much as 50%" during some points of the pandemic. This tracks with Comer's findings as well.

Last month, Comer sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi asking for the case to be taken up again as "the Biden Administration ignored this referral despite clear facts and evidence." He urged Bondi to "take appropriate action" based on his referral and reiterated that request in a statement Monday.

"Andrew Cuomo is a man with a history of corruption and deceit, now caught red-handed lying to Congress during the Select Subcommittee’s investigation into the COVID-19 nursing home tragedy in New York. This wasn’t a slip-up – it was a calculated cover-up by a man seeking to shield himself from responsibility for the devastating loss of life in New York’s nursing homes," Comer said.

"Let’s be clear: lying to Congress is a federal crime. Mr. Cuomo must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The House Oversight Committee is prepared to fully cooperate with the Justice Department’s investigation into Andrew Cuomo’s actions and ensure he’s held to account," Comer demanded.

Of all the failures and injustices from politicians during the pandemic, Cuomo's was arguably the worst. He has yet to pay for that decision, but his time may have finally come.

President Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia may soon begin negotiations towards a ceasefire after more than three years of active war, Breitbart reported. The president made the announcement Monday following a phone meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that "went very well."

The conflict became a full-blown war under the watch of then-President Joe Biden. Trump made ending the conflict one of his campaign promises, and the media has hammered him about the lack of progress ever since.

Trump credited the promising news to his call with Putin and suggested a peace meeting occur at the Vatican. Trump took to his Truth Social to announce the change and fill in the details.

Positive signs

Trump shared the details of the call in his post. "Just completed my two hour call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. I believe it went very well. Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War," he wrote.

"The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of. The tone and spirit of the conversation were excellent," Trump added.

"If it wasn’t, I would say so now, rather than later. Russia wants to do largescale TRADE with the United States when this catastrophic 'bloodbath' is over, and I agree. There is a tremendous opportunity for Russia to create massive amounts of jobs and wealth. Its potential is UNLIMITED," Trump explained.

"Likewise, Ukraine can be a great beneficiary on Trade, in the process of rebuilding its Country. Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will begin immediately," the president added. He explained that he has several world leaders on board, including France's President Emmanuel Macron and Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, among others.

"The Vatican, as represented by the Pope, has stated that it would be very interested in hosting the negotiations. Let the process begin!" Trump said.

American pontiff

It seems Trump believes in the newly elected Pope Leo XIV to help him get the job done. The American pontiff held his first Mass Sunday with influential leaders in attendance, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to The Catholic Register, the Ukrainian people trust Pope Leo XIV after he promised to take up their cause. "I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people," the leader of the Catholic Church said on May 11.

"Let everything possible be done to achieve genuine, just and lasting peace as soon as possible. May all the prisoners be freed, and may the children return to their families," Pope Leo XIV added.

This encouraging news comes after Democrats had a meltdown when Trump spoke sharply to Zelensky during an Oval Office meeting on Feb. 28. The Hill reported that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said Zelensky "stood up to Russia’s best negotiators," meaning Trump and Vance. Now, it appears Trump had the upper hand all along.

This ceasefire deal is long overdue, and Trump is doing what everyone on the left told him was impossible with the conflict. It may take some time, but at least it's moving in the right direction for peace in Europe.

Three family members are dead and a toddler is injured after being struck by a train when they were on or near a bridge Sunday night in Ohio.

A mother, age 58, daughter, age 38, and five-year-old were killed in Fremont close to the Miles Newton Bridge, which crosses over the Sandusky River.

The five-year-old was thrown into the river when the collision happened, and her body was found in the river on Monday around noon after dive teams and rescue boats spent all night and morning searching for her.

A 14-month-old female child was also injured and was taken to the hospital.

"Unfortunate tragedy"

The family was reportedly on a fishing trip in the area and may not have known that a train would come through the area over the bridge.

They lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana and are some of the many people who come to the area to fish during white bass season.

“This is a very very unfortunate tragedy that has hit our community,” Mayor Danny Sanchez told reporters during a press conference about the accident.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, deputies from Ottawa County and Sandusky County sheriff’s departments, and the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department were all involved in the response to the collision and search for the missing girl.

Police declared the scene a "mass casualty accident."

It wasn't typical of other recent mass casualty incidents, though, which are not accidents but are typically caused by a shooter or faulty operator.

"Deeply saddened"

Norfolk Southern said in a statement about the incident:

We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and our hearts are with those affected, their loved ones, and the community during this difficult time. We are working closely with local authorities on their investigation.

There is no indication that the train was at fault in the incident, since the bridge was not normally used by pedestrians.

The Federal Railroad Administration said of the incident, "The Federal Railroad Administration extends our deepest sympathies to those affected by this terrible event. This tragedy is a vivid reminder of the dangers of trespassing on railroad property and we hope this extremely unfortunate occurrence will raise public awareness of such dangers."

It is likely going to take some time to sort out what exactly led the family to be on the bridge and how they came to be struck by the train. Until then, the community will be in shock and mourning.

Former FBI Director James Comey made headlines on Friday after he made a highly controversial social media post that arguably advocated for some sort of harm to come to President Donald Trump, as it depicted the phrase “86 47,” arranged in seashells.

Though Comey later disclaimed the notion that he intended to incite violence toward the commander in chief, White House senior director for counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka offered a different take, asserting that the former agency head “committed a crime” and should face appropriate consequences, as Breitbart reports.

Comey post prompts probe

As Fox News noted, the controversy began when Comey made the now-infamous post on Instagram that millions believe evinced his desire to see violence visited upon the current commander in chief, captioning the accompanying photo with the words, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

Once a firestorm ensued over the implications of his post, Comey attempted to backtrack and explain, saying, “I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message.”

Comey added, “I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence,” an assertion that strains credulity coming from someone who once led the Federal Bureau of Investigation. “It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,” he went on.

On Friday evening, Comey was questioned by agents from the U.S. Secret Service, the agency charged with probing threats against the sitting president,” a move that individuals such as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, among others, believed was necessary, particularly in light of two prior assassination attempts against Trump in the last year.

Gorka weighs in

Formal questioning, according to Gorka, should just be the start of Comey's legal headaches, a position he expressed during an interview given to Newsmax TV's Finnerty.

Gorka made it clear that he believes Comey committed a criminal offense with his seashell post, telling host Rob Finnerty, “Well, you can read it, Rob, on my Twitter feed – @SebGorka.”

“I informed Comey, who strangely has me blocked on X. I don't know why the former FBI director, disgraced FBI director, has me blocked,” Gorka continued.

The outspoken administration official added, “I told him we are doing counterterrorism in the National Security Council of President Trump's White House. I am the senior director for counterterrorism for the U.S. government.”

Gorka declared, “And, Title 18, Section 897 of the U.S. criminal code means that you committed a crime -- threatening the life of an incumbent president is a crime.”

Not buying it

When it comes to Comey's half-hearted mea culpa, Gorka was thoroughly unconvinced, saying, “And nobody on this planet believes you, James Comey, that you didn't know that to '86' someone is to kill them.”

Gorka did not stop there, still addressing Comey by saying, “You're a liar, and you incited violence against a man who they have tried to assassinate on multiple occasions. Who is the 'they'? Democrat, donors to the Democrat Party, people who think that political violence is justified.”

It appears that Gorka's patience with the left -- including liberal journalists -- has just about reached its end, as just one day before he unleashed on Comey, the Trump administration official sounded off on Politico's Dasha Burns during a discussion about immigration, stating that her line of questioning was proof-positive that her outlet is akin to “gutter press” with which he regretted engaging at all.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the iconic "Christ on the Water" painting would be restored to its rightful place at the Merchant Marine Academy, the Daily Wire reported. Then-President Joe Biden had banished the inspirational artwork to the basement of the building.

Artist Hunter Wood completed the religiously themed painting in 1944. In it, the figure of Christ appears on the choppy seas to a boatful of weary sailors.

The subject matter was meaningful to Wood, who served in North Africa during World War II before joining the Coast Guard Combat Artist Unit. He joined the service days after the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor that brought the U.S. into the war.

"Christ on the Water" was installed at the Wiley Hall Elliot See Room at the Merchant Marine Academy in 1947. However, the Biden administration took it down in 2023 due to complaints from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation that its presence violated the Constitution.

Righting a Wrong

Duffy is a devout Catholic and the father of nine children he shares with his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, according to the National Catholic Register. Perhaps it was that perspective that influenced his decision to right this wrong for God-fearing Americans.

"We are moving Jesus out of the basement. To all the great midshipmen at the Merchant Marine Academy, you let me know how important this painting was to all of you," Duffy said in a video statement posted Thursday to X, formerly Twitter, among other platforms.

"Now we all know it was taken out of a place of prominence and put in down in the basement. I worked with the Academy, and because this is such a historic painting, I’m announcing that through that work with the Academy, this painting is going to go from the basement back to its place of prominence," Duffy promised.

"It will be a moment to celebrate," he added. Duffy already received support for the decision when he was met with thunderous applause while announcing it at the Merchant Marine Academy last month.

Consequential Move

While the people most impacted have celebrated it, Duffy has received blowback from Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. He said it would start "World War Eight" if Duffy restores the painting, calling the secretary a "piece of s---."

As the Blaze reported, Weinstein went on an insane rant on YouTube at the mere prospect of moving the painting. He also released a written statement that was unhinged and offensive, calling Duffy "bereft of any semblance of morality, ethical standard, or constitutional legality."

Weinstein accused Duffy of "merely throwing rotting dripping, fetid, red meat to the Christian Nationalist MAGA fascists in America, who are clearly sprinkled among the USMVA midshipmen, staff and faculty." He challenged Duffy to "FAFO (F*** Around, Find Out)!!!"

This kind of opposition to displaying an iconic work of art is shocking in its vitriol. Weinstein clearly believes the image of Christ ministering to men in a boat is some kind of dog whistle, which says more about him than it does about the artwork.

Despite popular misconceptions, the Constitution does not prohibit religious expression on public grounds. Duffy is correct to restore this painting to its rightful place, whether people like Weinstein or Biden like it or not.

A recent poll from Reuters/Ipsos revealed that President Donald Trump's poll numbers are trending positive, Fox News reported. The president gained two percentage points this week, reversing the downward trend since January.

In a poll conducted on May 12 and 13, Trump had 44% approval and 52% disapproval. This is an increase over the 42% approval Trump garnered last month, though it is within the poll's margin of error.

The increase is no doubt at least in part due to his handling of the economy. The poll shows Americans are more confident in key indicators, including the stock market, inflation, and recession.

Headed in the Right Direction

In April, Trump imposed tariffs on nations throughout the world, including some of America's adversaries. The plan was off to a bumpy start as investors got nervous and a Wall Street selloff began.

However, there are signs of improvement both in the implementation and in their perception this month. The stock market rallied this week over news that China reached an agreement with the U.S. over tariffs, as did other nations.

The worries about recession have subsided with the changes, and the poll reflects that reality as well. In April, 76% of voters polled were concerned about the possibility of a recession, and now that number is just 69%.

Colin Reed, a seasoned GOP strategist, said that Trump has made it clear "that you are going to have to break some eggs to make an omelet and his voters will give him the latitude to do so," he told Fox News. It seems that the American people have taken that into consideration.

"We’re still less than 150 days in, he’s got some time to make the hard calls that have to be made and still give the economic plane runway to take off ahead of the midterms, which is when all of these early decisions will be graded," Reed said. However, the news hasn't been all positive.

Trump's Critics

Trump fought hard to get back into the White House in the 2024 presidential election, and his voters were behind him through it all. He promised big things, many of which he has achieved in a short time.

However, on the economic front, Trump has yet to truly tackle inflation as promised and as many people had hoped. Even with the slight bump this month, Trump is still experiencing more disapproval than approval, and political scientist and New England College president Wayne Lesperance believes it's due to the disparity between expectations and reality.

"Trump’s return to office did not begin as he and his supporters had hoped. Campaign promises about inflation and interest rates appeared deferred while the daily news coverage focused on the many distractions plaguing the White House," Lesperance said.

Still, Lesperance believes "signs of progress may be emerging" that could give Trump a boost. "Possible trade deals with Britain, China, and India are providing hope that some good may come from his tariff strategy. Add to that a rebounding stock market and lower gas prices at the start of summer vacation season, and the president may see some calming of public nervousness."

Trump is doing a great job, but he can't do everything he wants to right out of the gate. Voters will have to trust that Trump will deliver for the American people just as he did during his first term as president.

Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, who is testifying against Sean "Diddy" Combs in his sex trafficking trial, appeared visibly pregnant in court Wednesday, Fox News reported. Legal experts believe this could evoke even more sympathy for the singer as she recounts the abuse allegedly suffered at the hands of the music mogul.

During her second day of testimony, the 38-year-old star shared the horrific details of the violence she allegedly endured. Cassie revealed that she was allegeldy raped multiple times by the music mogul after their relationship ended.

"I can't carry this anymore. I can't carry the shame, the guilt … what's right is right. What's wrong is wrong," Cassie said in court.

The alleged abuse was so traumatic that she had "horrible flashbacks" about it while making a music video. In 2023, she entered rehab and sought counseling to deal with the aftermath of those experiences.

Jury Impressions

As if her testimony isn't compelling enough, legal experts believe the fact that she's pregnant could sway the jury even more to believe her version of events. Cassie and husband Alex Fine are expecting their third child together.

Criminal defense attorney Dan Rubin described the impact Cassie's condition would have on jurors. "Cassie being pregnant may make her an even more sympathetic figure on the stand," Rubin told Fox News Digital in an exclusive.

"It certainly invokes the maternal side of the singer, and that could really impact the way some members of the jury view her. They may find it interesting that — even if it's not said out loud — Cassie is looking at the dark events of what happened through the new lens of motherhood," Rubin went on.

Attorney Jo-Anna Nieves similarly believes "Cassie Ventura’s pregnancy brings a strong layer of visual and emotional impact that makes it harder for the defense to paint her as violent or dangerous," she told Fox News Digital. "Jurors are human, and whether they realize it or not, they often associate pregnancy with vulnerability, nurturing, and innocence," Nieves went on.

"That image alone makes it a tough sell to argue that she was a real physical threat or equally responsible for the violence," Nieves said. With so much evidence stacked against Combs, it will be the defense's job to tear down the witnesses and attack their credibility.

Losing Battle

For Combs' attorneys, this may be a losing battle before it even begins for the defense. "Even if the defense introduces evidence of her alleged aggression, that version of events may not line up with what the jury sees in front of them," Nieves said, anticipating the strategy.

"It’s not just about the facts. It's about how those facts land and trying to position an attractive, visibly pregnant woman who also has her own celebrity status as abusive can easily flop with this jury and damage the defense’s credibility," Nieves added.

Nieves explained that Cassie's pregnancy "may not change the legal standard, but it can definitely shape how jurors perceive the story, and that makes the defense’s job a lot harder," the attorney said. As it is, jurors are already showing signs of sympathy for Cassie.

A juror was seen looking to Combs' side of the courtroom while Cassie recounted a "bad fight" with the 55-year-old former rapper. Another juror nodded in agreement when Cassie said she was too ashamed to tell her own mother about the alleged abuse.

This trial has revealed the worst allegations anyone could make against another person. If even a fraction of this turns out to be true, Combs' accusers, pregnant or not, will have no trouble getting a conviction.

The Florida Panthers suspended Doug Cifu, the franchise's vice chairman, on Monday following a social media fight with a fan on Sunday, Breitbart reported. The NHL suspension is indefinite, citing "unacceptable and inappropriate" remarks he made during the online argument.

Cifu has since deactivated his account on X, formerly Twitter, following the online tiff. He allegedly traded insults with a Toronto Maple Leafs fan who likened the Panthers' rough play to Israel in its war against Hamas in Palestine.

The reply from Cifu included obscenities and a reference to President Donald Trump's barb against Canada when he called it the "51st state" earlier this year. "Eat s--- 51st state anti-semite loser," Cifu allegedly wrote.

"Israel now and forever. Until ever[y] last Hamas rat is eliminated," Cifu added.

The conflict

The Panthers notched a 2-0 win on Sunday, but the real conflict happened off the ice and on social media. According to ESPN, Cifu attacked a person with the handle Dr. Grizzo on May 11 after he turned the discussion about the game into political commentary.

The contentious series between the two teams became an even 2-2 record after Sunday's game. However, Toronto's Anthony Stolarz was taken out after Florida center Sam Bennett collided with the Maple Leafs' goalie, causing a head injury.

Moreover, the teams traded high body checks, which Dr. Grizzo compared with attacks Israel launched against Hamas. "Hey, what's worse, using headshots to win a series or using starvation as a weapon to win a war?" Dr. Grizzo wrote.

Cifu shot back, "Actually, being a whiny dope anti-semite is clearly worse. Loser."

The exchange continued with Dr. Grizzo challenging the premise of Cifu's insult. "Not approving of using starvation as a weapon makes me a bigot?" That's when Cifu hurled the obscenity at the other man before deactivating his account.

The NHL reacts

After the dustup, the NHL released a statement denouncing Cifu's actions. "The NHL has concluded that Mr. Cifu’s X posts were unacceptable and inappropriate," the league wrote.

"As a result, Mr. Cifu has been suspended indefinitely from any involvement with the Club and the NHL," it added. Commissioner Gary Bettman is expected to meet with Cifu at a time and place that will be determined later.

For his part, Cifu released a statement to Florida Hockey Now accepting responsibility. "My behavior does not reflect the standards of the Florida Panthers organization and the Viola family," Cifu said, referring to Panthers owner, chairman, and governor Vincent Viola.

"I sincerely apologize to all those affected by my comments. I am committed to working with the NHL to amend my actions," Cifu added.

This situation is part of a larger debate happening online that often turns ugly between people who support Israel and those who support Hamas. Regardless of the circumstances, Cifu should have shown more professionalism and held his tongue, and his suspension was well warranted after he didn't.

President Donald Trump's administration fired Shira Perlmutter, head of the U.S. Copyright Office, on Saturday, Fox News reported. This comes just days after the Librarian of Congress was given the pink slip.

Perlmutter was reportedly ousted without warning this weekend. She received the news via email that read "your position as the Register of Copyrights and Director at the U.S. Copyright Office is terminated effective immediately."

The White House did not provide a response to media inquiries, but this firing is part of a broader trend of house-cleaning in the government. Trump sees some of these bureaucratic holdovers as obstacles to implementing his agenda.

However, the news came after Perlmutter released a report favoring copyrights for materials used to train artificial intelligence, so the left ran with the conspiracy theories. Some are blaming the Department of Government Efficiency head, Elon Musk, as Democrats cry foul.

Business as usual

The Trump administration has been weeding out officials who are adversarial to the president or simply not doing their job. The White House has yet to explain its reasoning for Perlmutter, but there may be a hint based on what happened last week with Carla Hayden, who was removed as Librarian of Congress.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained the reasons for Hayden's ouster in a news conference Friday. "We felt she did not fit the needs of the American people," Leavitt explained.

"There were quite concerning things that she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children, and we don't believe that she was serving the interests of the American taxpayer well.So she has been removed from her position, and the president is well within his rights to do that," Leavitt told the press.

Hayden was notified by email as well. "Carla. On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as the Librarian of Congress is terminated effective immediately. Thank you for your service," the email, sent from the White House’s Presidential Personnel Office, said.

Democrats Pounce

The reasons for firing Hayden have become clear and will likely be similar for Perlmutter. However, Democrats couldn't help but blame Musk for the firing based on Perlmutter's support for copyrights, even with the rise of AI.

According to CBS News, Musk supports abolishing protections for intellectual property based on a tweet he posted. Rep. Joe Morelle, a ranking member of the Committee on House Administration, ran with the idea, calling Perlmutter's "a brazen, unprecedented power grab with no legal basis."

The New York Democrat charged that it was "surely no coincidence he acted less than a day after she refused to rubber-stamp Elon Musk's efforts to mine troves of copyrighted works to train AI models." There's no telling whether firing one official would end the debate, but it seems Morelle is convinced anyway.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) similarly protested the firing, according to Reuters. They claimed that Congress "purposefully insulated this role and the U.S. Copyright Office from politics."

Without the White House's confirmation, there's no telling what exactly led to Perlumtter's firing. However, leftists will always ascribe the worst motivations to Trump regardless of the truth.

David Hogg, the 25-year-old vice chair of the Democrat National Committee (DNC), admitted on Friday that his party spent $2 billion in 2024 in an attempt to trick Americans into voting for former President Joe Biden.

"People said to us that 'Joe Biden is too old,' and they said that 'prices are too high,'" Hogg said on Real Time with Bill Maher.

"And we said, with the power of $2 billion behind us, 'No he's not,' then 'Yes he is' and then 'No they're not, look at this graph of the stock market,'" he claimed.

Maher argued with Hogg that woke talking points gave the election to President Donald Trump, but Hogg thought it was more tied to voters believing that Trump heard their concerns while Democrats wanted to argue with them.

"She was fully funded"

"I think the reason that worked though, Bill, is because people felt like they weren't heard by us," Hogg argued back.

It was so obvious that Biden was in decline, Hogg said.

"If you tell people not to believe their eyes and their wallets, you're going to lose."

Hogg said he didn't think it would have made any difference if Biden had left the race sooner, however.

"We left at a time when we had a good candidate," Biden said about former Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview on Wednesday. "She was fully funded."

Harris ultimately lost after a brief campaign, however.

Hogg goes ultraradical

Hogg wants to see younger, more progressive candidates take over for some of the longtime candidates that have dominated Democrat politics for decades--like Biden.

He argued that young people don't see established Democrat candidates as a "real alternative to the Republican Party."

"That will not change if we keep the status quo," Hogg said. "We have no other option but to do the hard work of holding ourselves and our own party accountable."

To that end, Hogg has pledged through a political action committee separate from the DNC to raise millions of dollars for Democrat primary challengers to longtime incumbents.

It's scary that Hogg doesn't see current Democrats as left enough or radical enough, and that he thinks young people will abandon Trump for even more progressive candidates. Let's hope he's not right about that.
