Donald Trump Jr. brought his new girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, to the Capitol on Tuesday night to hear President Trump bash his Democratic opponents in a major speech to Congress.
Anderson, 38, was shoulder to shoulder with 47-year-old Donald Jr. as politicians crowded into the House chamber. It was a formal date night for the couple, but there was plenty of light-hearted entertainment as the president roasted his sour-faced opposition with his usual blend of crackling humor and political polemic.
The president dubbed his predecessor, Joe Biden, the "worst" president in U.S. history and reprised his mocking nickname for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma.) as she cheered the continuation of the war in Ukraine.
"You want to keep it going for another five years,” Trump said, singling out Warren. “Pocahontas says yes.”
Anderson's appearance at such a major event is the latest example of Trump Jr.'s efforts to bring her into the Trump family's inner circle.
The Daily Mail was first to report Trump Jr.'s affair with Anderson in September, when the two were spotted spending time together in Palm Beach. At the time, Trump Jr. was still engaged to ex-fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle.
The president's eldest son has since brought Anderson to a number of official and semi-official events, including his father's inauguration and the Super Bowl, where Don Jr. made the relationship "Instagram official."
Trump Jr. was seen taking a selfie with Anderson before the president took the podium Tuesday night. Three of the president's other children - Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany, and their respective partners, Jared Kushner, Lara Trump, and Michael Boulos - were also there to cheer the president on, along with First Lady Melania Trump.
Democrats pouted and jeered through Trump's remarks, which ran for almost two hours, touching on a wide range of topics from immigration to Trump's efforts to trim government waste with Elon Musk.
The fireworks started within minutes as Democrats booed Trump for bragging about his electoral mandate, and one Democratic lawmaker, Al Green (Tx.), was expelled for causing a dramatic scene. Despite the disruptions, Trump was in a buoyant mood.
“Just listen to some of the appalling waste we have already identified,” the president said. “$8 million to promote LGBTQ+ in the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of,” he quipped.
The president alternated sharp jabs at his Democratic adversaries with tributes to the victims of far-left policies on crime and immigration, like Laken Riley, the young Georgia nursing student murdered by an illegal alien while jogging last year. Trump also honored a 13-year-old boy with brain cancer, DJ Daniel, whom Trump made an honorary member of the Secret Service.
The bitter optics of the Democrat lawmakers, who remained seated during these touching moments, became a point of criticism for many including Trump Jr.
"If you can't stand up and cheer for a kid with brain cancer being made an honorary member of the Secret Service, then you might be a deeply disturbed and f----- up person!!!" Trump Jr. wrote on X.
Fans of the legendary Dolly Parton were shocked and saddened this week to learn of the death of her longtime husband.
According to the Associated Press, Carl Dean, Dolly Parton's husband of 60 years, has died. He was 82.
Dean was known for avoiding the constant spotlight and was also known as the inspiration for one of his wife's biggest and most successful hit songs, "Jolene."
No cause of death has been revealed at this time, and Dolly Parton requested privacy so that she and her family could grieve the profound loss.
Dolly Parton met Dean when she first moved to Nashville at age 18. The two met at the Wishy Washy Laundromat, where Parton said he expressed genuine interest in her."
"I was surprised and delighted that while he talked to me, he looked at my face (a rare thing for me)," Parton described the meeting with Dean. "He seemed to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was and what I was about."
Only two years later, the two married in Ringgold, Georgia. The wedding was held on Memorial Day.
JUST IN: Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Dean, has passed away at the age of 82 after nearly 60 years of marriage.

The Associated Press noted:
Dean was a businessman, having owned an asphalt-paving business in Nashville. His parents, Virginia “Ginny” Bates Dean and Edgar “Ed” Henry Dean, had three children. Parton referred to his mother as “Mama Dean.”
For her part, Dolly Parton released a statement on her husband's passing.
"Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy," she said.
Parton's fans across social media offered their condolences and paid their respects.
"Heartbreaking news. Carl Dean was Dolly’s rock for over 60 years—a love story like no other. Prayers for Dolly and her family during this difficult time," one X user wrote.

President Joe Biden's immigration policies and programs were an absolute disaster, and even proved deadly for American citizens on numerous occasions.
According to Fox News, that was evidenced once again when it was revealed this week that a Haitian man charged with killing three people was brought to the United States "as part of former President Biden’s controversial migrant flights program."
The migrant, 26-year-old Mackendy Darbouze was charged for his alleged involvement in a triple murder in Fayettevill, North Carolina.
According to local authorities, he was charged with "three counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing 77-year-old Beatrice Desir, as well as a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old."
On Feb. 21, local police were dispatched to a home in the area after a reported stabbing occurred.
Upon their arrival, police discovered the grizzly scene, reporting that three victims had been stabbed, including two children and an elderly person.
Fox News noted:
A local ABC station in Raleigh reported that authorities said Darbouze greeted police at the door with blood on his hands, face and pants. At the time of the stabbing, authorities added, there were three other children inside the home.
Authorities pulled surveillance footage from the home and said that the Haitian migrant was seen walking around with a knife. Investigators located a knife, covered in blood, in his bedroom.
The link to the Biden administration's ridiculous migrant flight programs is disgusting, as Fox News noted:
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told Fox News that Darbouze had flown into the U.S. in July 2024 as part of Biden’s Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV) migrant flights mass parole program.
The controversial program allowed asylum seekers from certain countries to be paroled into the United States for up to two years, assuming they had a contact who could financially support them.
The program was widely abused, and now we're seeing it unfold in the worst possible way.
Users across social media weighed in on the horrific situation.

It wasn't only President Donald Trump who let Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelenskyy have it -- Vice President J.D. Vance was also a major part of that exchange, and radical leftist protesters are furious.
According to Fox News, in the wake of the infamous Zelenskyy meeting at the White House last week, Vance headed out to Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont -- a beautiful ski resort where he brought his family, only to be interrupted by hundreds of protesters.
The vice president was reportedly greeted by a "half-mile" long line of pro-Ukraine protesters, according to the reports.
And since they were leftist, pro-Ukraine protesters, they were as nasty as one could expect. They reportedly shouted disgusting things at Vance and his family, including calling the vice president "Nazi scum."
The protesters, who were obviously stricken with severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome, shouted at Vance to "go ski in Russia" and shouted several different slurs that highlighted how bad their TDS cases truly are.
"Trump serves Putin," "Theocracy is not freedom" and "Stand with Ukraine" were some of the slogans that the radical leftist protester held while Vance and his family tried to enjoy a nice ski resort getaway.

The scene was absolutely embarrassing, and not for Vance. The people involved clearly have mental health issues and should probably not be allowed in public, given how triggered they are.
Even some of the locals at the ski resort were reasonable people who were not happy with the radical, pro-Ukraine protesters.
One local skier told Fox News "Those people protesting Vance are f---ing morons."
Users across social media reacted to the protesters interrupting Vance's family getaway.
"From what I've seen, there's not a whole lot of what I remember as a true Vermonter left. It's so sad to see such a beautiful place overrun with socialists and apologists for Hamas," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "How much ya wanna bet the majority of them aren't from Vermont."
One has to wonder if these people have jobs? How can they afford to spend their days engaging in such unproductive, nonsensical protests?
Elon Musk is living rent free in the minds of government workers and Democrats all across the country.
That was proven once again this week as the Associated Press reported that Musk, who runs the Department of Government Efficiency, sent out another email to government workers demanding they list their accomplishments.
The effort is part of a method to root out the non-productive and non-essential workers who only exist to drain the government's coffers of U.S. taxpayer funds.
Musk caused a similar stir earlier this month when he emailed government workers demanding that they list five things they accomplished the week prior.
A new tranche of emails from Musk and DOGE began hitting the inboxes of government workers on Friday, in which Musk asks them to list their recent accomplishments.
The AP noted:
Originally expected to go out Saturday, the new request began landing in the inboxes of some employees late Friday. The plan to send a second round of emails was initially disclosed by a person with knowledge of the situation who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly.
Many agencies had instructed their workers not to respond to Musk's first email due to a variety of reasons. Musk said it was more of a "pulse test," as he's convinced that there are workers on the government payroll who aren't even alive any longer.
While the first email was ignored as much as it was responded to, the second email, according to the anonymous source, will be delivered in a different way, making it easier to spot non-compliance.
The AP noted:
Instead of being sent by the Office of Personnel Management, which functions as a human resources agency for the federal government but doesn’t have the power to hire or fire, the email was to come from individual agencies that have direct oversight of career officials.
Those who choose not to respond face a higher likelihood of being let go as part of DOGE's mission to cut government waste and spending.
The anonymous source revealed that the subject line of the second email read, "What did you do last week? Part II."
"Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets describing what you accomplished last week and cc your manager," the email reportedly read.
The workers were given a deadline to respond to the email or presumably face removal.
It'll be interesting to see how many government workers take this next email seriously.
President Donald Trump, with the help of Elon Musk, who runs the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) slashed a vast majority of aid being dolled out by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
The slashing of waste within the agency triggered a mountain of backlash from Democrats and others who came to the realization that the money spigot had been turned off, and the matter quickly wound up in a massive legal battle.
According to reports, Chief Justice John Roberts stepped in this week when he blocked a lower court judge's ruling that ordered the Trump administration to release some $2 billion in USAID funding.
The Trump administration and DOGE cut a staggering $58 billion in funding agreements through the agency.
U.S. District Court Judge Amir Ali, a judge appointed by former President Joe Biden, ruled in favor of the agencies that immediately sued when the money was turned off.

The judge had ordered the money to be reinstated by Wednesday at midnight, but that process was halted after U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts intervened and asserted his authority on the matter.
Chief Justice Roberts intervened after Solicitor General Sarah Harris filed an emergency motion to have the high court step in.
The agencies that sued the Trump administration were given until Friday, midday, to argue their side of the issue. It's up to Roberts at that point whether he wants to issue a ruling himself or refer the case back to lower courts for a decision.
The Trump administration, in its emergency request with the high court, argued why the lower court judge should be blocked.
"The order does not limit its abrupt deadline to respondents’ own invoices or letters of credit, instead apparently compelling the government to pay requests from any organization that has asked for such funds," said Solicitor General Harris.
She added, "The timing of the order does not allow the government to conduct payment-integrity review to ensure that payments are made only for obligations that are legitimate or supported by necessary documentation -- much less deny improper payments."
It'll be fascinating to see where the case ultimately lands and who gets the victory.
The liberal mainstream media and President Donald Trump's critics on the left are always working overtime to push any kind of negative narrative to make the president look bad, or in this case, sick.
According to reports, recent photos of President Trump's hand have gone viral in liberal circles given that his right hand has a sizeable bruise. Many immediately went into conspiracy theory land and insisted that it must be connected to a medical concern.
However, that's not the case. At all.
The White House recently responded to speculation -- false speculation -- that Trump has health problems he's hiding.
The explanation for the bruise on his right hand is simple, according to the White House. It's apparently from the amount of hands he shakes on a daily and weekly basis.
Trump is well known for his power handshake, which undoubtedly puts a lot of pressure on that particular area of his hand. Combined with his age, it's not uncommon to see older folks bruise like that.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told NBC News that "President Trump is a man of the people," adding, "His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day."
"President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day," the White House press secretary noted.
The story is a nothingburger, though that hasn't stopped legions of Trump Derangement Syndrome-stricken haters from pretending that it's something else.
Some of the leftist conspiracy theorists have suggested that it's IV bruising, others slammed him for not releasing his medical records.
Many on social media slammed the leftist conspiracy people as none of them even batted an eye at former President Joe Biden's very obvious and serious medical conditions, including his severe cognitive decline.
"Joe Biden was literally demented, falling, pooping, and MIA for 4 years, and the media totally ignored it. Now, they're obsessed with the bruise on the back of President Trump's hand and calling for his medical report to be released," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "They never worried about Biden’s cognitive abilities, yet they are concerned with a bruise on President Trump’s hand! Insane!"
Indeed, it is insane. Trump's health compared to Biden's is night and day.
President Donald Trump reportedly alarmed some people after a picture emerged that showed bruising on his right hand.
According to the Daily Mail, some doctors have weighed in on his hand bruise, and admitted that it's likely because of his age and how using one's hand when blood vessels are weakened -- because of age -- can produce more prominent bruises.
It was reported that photos of the bruise, described as "yellow and purple," emerged after Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House on Monday.
The White House reassured the Daily Mail that it wasn't of any concern, and that his hand was showing bruises as a result of shaking hundreds of hands during the course of his week.
The handshaking cause is more than plausible, given that Trump is known for his aggressive, strong handshakes. Dr Stuart Fischer - an internal medicine physician in New York, weighed in on the matter.
The Daily Mail noted:
He explained old age naturally weakens blood vessels and makes them more 'brittle,' which makes bruising 'on any part of the body' much more likely and severe. He highlighted Trump is the second-oldest president in US history.
The doctor also pointed to the possibility of Osteoarthritis setting in.
The outlet added:
Osteoarthritis, an age-related disease that breaks down cartilage and bone in the joints, could be another possibility, Dr Fischer says, as it can cause easy bruising or discoloration around affected joints in the hand.
"I think it's probably all of those things together," Dr. Fischer said.
Even though there's a logical explanation for the bruising, which is certainly not uncommon, social media users -- most of them anti-Trumpers -- worked overtime to make the story something its not.
There were plenty of Trump's critics who immediately tried to make the issue something bigger.
"What aren't we being told about his health?" one X user said of Trump's bruise. Another user asked: "Is this why he wouldn't release his medical records?"
"I think it kinda looks like an IV bruise. Like he's been dehydrated and given fluids. Or maybe he's vitamin deficient?" one X user kguessed. "But that's what kind of bruise it looks to be."
Trump is just fine. We know it. They know it. Try again.
Clint Hill, the Secret Service agent who became a symbol of bravery during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, has died at the age of 93, NewsNationNow reported. Hill's death occurred at his home in Belvedere, California. His actions on November 22, 1963, are eternally etched in the annals of American history.
Known for his quick reaction during JFK's assassination, Clint Hill's passing marks the end of a profound legacy.
Born in 1932 in Washburn, North Dakota, Hill had a humble beginning before embarking on a path that would lead him to moments of historical significance. After serving in the Army, he joined the Secret Service in 1958, demonstrating a commitment to national service from a young age.
The assassination of President Kennedy was a moment that changed America, and Clint Hill's actions during those crucial seconds illustrated his profound dedication to duty. When gunshots rang out in Dallas, Hill leaped onto the back of the moving presidential limousine in an attempt to shield the president and First Lady.
Hill's efforts on that day were followed by decades of respect and numerous awards from the Secret Service, recognizing his bravery and dedication. Despite these accolades, the haunting memories of that day profoundly affected him, leading to severe depression and an early retirement from active service at age 43.
His emotional struggle with the events of November 1963 was a significant part of his life story, which he rarely spoke of publicly. When he did, it was with a sense of deep, lingering reflection on what might have been done differently.
It was not until a 1975 interview with Mike Wallace on CBS’ "60 Minutes" that Hill publicly shared the emotional burden he carried. He tearfully recounted the assassination, deeply expressing his feelings of responsibility and the profound impact it had on his life.
"If I had reacted just a little bit quicker. And I could have, I guess," a grieving Hill told Wallace, a moment that resonated with many who saw the interview. This emotional appearance was a turning point for Hill, allowing him to confront his feelings about that day.
The interview had a lasting impact on Hill, as he later indicated during an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" in 2006. He credited the discussion with Wallace for helping him process and publicly discuss the trauma he experienced.
Beyond his Secret Service duties, Hill's life after early retirement involved a quieter existence, punctuated by moments of recognition for his service. North Dakota honored him in 2018 with the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, acknowledging his lifelong service and impact.
Hill also found love late in life, marrying co-author Lisa McCubbin in 2021. The pair had collaborated on several books about his experiences. McCubbin Hill described their relationship as a deep bond, affirming, "We had that once-in-a-lifetime love that everyone hopes for. We were soulmates."
The 1993 Clint Eastwood movie "In the Line of Fire" partially drew inspiration from Hill's proactive and selfless actions, further cementing his legacy within popular culture.
A private funeral service is planned to be held in Washington, D.C., allowing close friends, family, and colleagues to pay their respects to a man who played a pivotal role during a critical moment in American history. The date of the service has not been announced, ensuring it remains a private affair in honor of Hill's wishes.
The life and service of Clint Hill remind us of the profound personal impacts national tragedies can have on individuals, particularly those sworn to protect. His legacy serves as a testament to the courage and dedication required to serve at the highest levels of security and public trust. As the nation remembers Clint Hill, his poignant memory and steadfast bravery continue to inspire future generations of service members who carry forward the values he embodied.
Clint Hill's journey from North Dakota to the heart of American history exemplifies a true devotion to duty, marked with personal sacrifices that few can fully understand. We remember and honor his courage, service, and the deep sense of duty that defined his life.
Holocaust survivors and their families were dealt a severe blow by the U.S. Supreme Court this week after it ruled against receiving compensation "from Hungary for property confiscated during World War II."
According to the Associated Press, the long-running lawsuit was thought to have been settled in appellate court, which ruled that the lawsuit to recover the funds could proceed.
The appellate court allowed the lawsuit to proceed even though federal law generally shields other countries from such lawsuits in the U.S. court system.
It found that the survivors and some of their family members suing on their behalf fit an exception to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act that covers "property taken in violation of international law."
To qualify for the exception to the federal law that shields sovereign nations from those types of lawsuits in American courtrooms, the plaintiffs have to show that that the property has commercial ties in the United States.
The Associated Press noted:
The survivors had argued that Hungary long ago sold off the property, mixed the proceeds with its general funds, and used that commingled money to issue bonds and buy military equipment in the U.S. in the 2000s.
Notably, Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote the high court's opinion, stating that "a commingling theory, without more" isn't a strong enough argument to be considered one of the exceptions to the federal law.
After writing its decision, the Supreme Court sent the lawsuit back to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
BREAKING: A 9-0 Supreme Court ruled Hungary CANNOT be held liable for property stolen by the government during the Holocaust because proceeds from it were commingled with other assets.

The case had previously made it to the Supreme Court.
The Associated Press noted:
In 2021, the justices sided with Germany in a multimillion-dollar dispute over a collection of religious artworks known as the Guelph Treasure. That decision made it harder for some lawsuits to be tried in U.S. courts over claims that property was taken from Jews during the Nazi era.
At the same time, the justices heard the Hungary case and had returned the case to a lower court.
The case has been at the appeals court three times, and the court has refused to dismiss the claims.
Only time will tell if it makes another trip around the court circuit.
