CBS has been named in a federal complaint for its decision to make Kamala Harris look coherent following its taping of a recent interview.
To do that, the network recorded an answer she made early in the recording, then subbed it in for the word salad she delivered to a later question.
Fox News said the complaint accused CBS News of "significant and intentional news distortion."
The filing was from the Center for American Rights and was submitted to the Federal Communications Commission.
The report noted, "CBS News has taken heat in recent days for airing two different answers to the same question in its '60 Minutes' interview last week with Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris was mocked by conservatives when footage of her offering a lengthy 'word salad' was aired by CBS' 'Face the Nation' to promote the '60 Minutes' sit-down when Bill Whitaker asked why it seemed like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn't listening to the U.S."
But, the report said, the network changed Harris' answer in the video before it was aired.
The center charged that the decision to swap answers was a "deliberate news distortion – a violation of FCC rules governing broadcasters' public interest obligations."
"This isn't just about one interview or one network," center president Daniel Suhr explained. "This is about the public's trust in the media on critical issues of national security and international relations during one of the most consequential elections of our time.
"When broadcasters manipulate interviews and distort reality, it undermines democracy itself. The FCC must act swiftly to restore public confidence in our news media," he said.
The complaint pointedly noted that CBS has so far refused to release the actual transcript.
WND has reported several times on scandals involving CBS and its bias toward Democrats.
There even were calls earlier for it to report its air time, given to Kamala Harris, as a campaign donation to her campaign.
The network staged a vice presidential debate with biased moderators, edited a Harris interview to actually insert an answer in place of her word salad, and prompted U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson to charge improper editing and bias.
It was a commentary at the Twitchy website that monitors social media reports that explained under its headline, "Speaker Johnson reveals deceptive CBS interview manipulation and brings ALL the receipts," that not only does the legacy network edit interviews to "HELP Democrats" then "also edit interviews to try and make Republicans look dumb."
Johnson posted online the evidence and told viewers, "You can be the judge as to why."
He explained, "I recently traveled to NC and victims of Hurricane Helene told me nearly two weeks after landfall, the Biden-Harris Administration had STILL not provided them with all the resources they desperately needed. But CBS selectively edited OUT ENTIRELY this first-hand perspective."
Further, he said, "Apparently, CBS also doesn't want you to hear about Virginia Gov. Youngkin, who is trying to clean the state's voter rolls so non-American citizens can't vote there. We need more states doing this, but the Biden-Harris Administration is SUING VIRGINIA and trying to STOP it."
It gets worse, he confirms, "The Biden-Harris Admin let millions of illegal aliens in our country. So, the House passed the SAVE Act to ensure only American citizens vote in American elections. CBS edited that out and focused on 2020 instead of immediate threats to election integrity."
WND reported earlier when the network confirmed its support for Harris, by inserting into an interview an answer that she had not delivered to that question.
The interview included Bill Whitaker asking: "But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening?"
Harris' actual response: "Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in several movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region."
Then "60 Minutes" edited her response, apparently to make it better.
Bill Whitaker: "But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening?"
Harris: "We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end."
It was during the JD Vance-Tim Walz vice presidential debate that CBS' bias was on show. WND reported then that there were accusations of "unethical journalistic malpractice" for a moderator.
While both moderators, Nora O'Donnell, and Margaret Brennan, previously had expressed criticism of President Donald Trump, it was Brennan's behavior toward Vance that prompted an editorial in the Washington Examiner that described her behavior:
After Vance detailed how President Joe Biden and Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris "brought in millions of illegal immigrants," some of whom are overwhelming schools and hospitals and driving up housing prices, Brennan jumped in to editorialize, asserting, "Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio, does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status — temporary protected status."
Vance responded, "Margaret, the rules were that you guys weren't going to fact-check, and since you're fact-checking me, I think it's important to say what's actually going on." He then gave a detailed and accurate explanation of how Biden and Harris created a smartphone app called the CBP One app that lets illegal immigrants fly into the United States and receive temporary "parole" status that expires in two years.
"That is the facilitation of illegal immigration, Margaret," Vance explained, "by our own leadership. And Kamala Harris opened up that pathway." Brennan then cut Vance's microphone.
The commentary noted it was "unethical journalistic malpractice. She falsely or misleadingly fact-checked the Republican's comments and then, instead of facilitating a proper airing of the issue, silenced the candidate who was making them and the Democrat look ignorant and dishonest."

The scale of Chinese espionage in the U.S. and in other Western nations is beginning to overwhelm governments, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal.
According to the report, spy activities are happening on an "unprecedented scale," which includes the Chinese government recruiting private companies, Chinese civilians, and security agencies to undermine its competitors and strengthen China's economy.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has stated that in the month of September alone, a Chinese state-linked firm hacked approximately 260,000 devices connected to the internet – including cameras and routers located in the U.S., the U.K., France, Romania, and other nations.
In January, FBI Director Christopher Wray told a congressional hearing the Chinese intelligence-gathering and security operations could be made of at least 600,000 people, outnumbering the FBI's cyber personnel by 50 to 1.
"China's hacking program is larger than that of every other major nation, combined," Wray said during the hearing.
Wray noted during his opening remarks to legislators that the Chinese pose a huge threat to U.S. infrastructure, which was largely ignored by the American public.
"There has been far too little public focus on the fact that PRC [People's Republic of China] hackers are targeting our critical infrastructure – our water treatment plants, our electrical grid, our oil and natural gas pipelines, our transportation systems … And the risk that poses to every American requires our attention now," Wray said.
Fox News reported five former University of Michigan students who are all Chinese nationals were charged last week after they were allegedly caught covering up spying on a National Guard center, while a Taiwanese military training operation was taking place in Michigan in August 2023.
A sergeant major of the Utah National Guard confronted the former students when they were caught photographing near Camp Grayling at midnight. They reportedly told the sergeant major they were photographing a meteor shower.
U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Mich., said the U.S. must remain vigilant while calling on Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to revoke funding for Chinese-based company Gotion, which plans to set up an EV battery factory in rural Michigan, much to the dismay of local residents.
"The CCP obviously has an interest in Camp Grayling and this is further evidence it would be a mistake for Michigan leaders to allow Gotion to build in our state. State funding for Gotion's plan to bring Chinese nationals to Mecosta County is an open invitation for more spying," Moolenaar said on X.
U.S. lawmakers also sought to get answers last week concerning China's Salt Typhoon breach of telecommunications giants AT&T, Verizon, and Lumen Technologies, hacking their respective wiretapping systems.
The U.S. House Select Committee on China, chaired by Moolenaar, sent a letter to the CEOs of the three internet providers requesting a closed-door briefing on how long the companies knew about the security breach, what is being done about it, and how lawmakers can help these companies implement additional measures.
Other incidents that pose a threat to national security include an unknown fleet of drones which breached restricted military airspace at the Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, for 17 consecutive days in December 2023.
Top officials are allegedly confounded over the owners of the drones, which circled the base at a height of 3,000 to 4,000 feet, at more than 100 miles per hour, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"Officials didn't know if the drone fleet, which numbered as many as a dozen or more over the following nights, belonged to clever hobbyists or hostile forces. Some suspected that Russia or China deployed them to test the response of American forces," the report states.
The report notes that because the drones were not seen as an imminent threat, despite breaching restricted airspace, federal law prevents the military from shooting down any drones near a military base.
Meanwhile, China Daily reported Tuesday, according to a report released by the Chinese cybersecurity department named "Volt Typhoon III – Unraveling Cyberespionage and Disinformation Operations Conducted by US Government Agencies," the U.S. and its Western allies are, in fact, spying on China.
"The U.S. cyber-warfare forces use these fabricated identities to conduct cyberattacks and espionage and then put the blame on the impersonated countries for the attacks. The so-called Volt Typhoon operation is a misinformation campaign launched by the U.S., which is why its tactics are so similar to those of other operations conducted by the U.S.-led Five Eyes alliance," China Daily reported.
It further adds the U.S. "engages in what it is accusing others of doing."
"The U.S. engages in what it is accusing others of doing. New evidence provided by the report shows that the U.S. firmly controls the world's most crucial internet nodes, including the Atlantic and Pacific undersea cables. Working closely with the UK National Cyber Security Centre, U.S. government agencies analyze and steal data transmitted through these cables, enabling indiscriminate surveillance of global internet users," the report states.
However, the U.S. Department of Justice stated in January the Volt Typhoon hacking group is run exclusively by the Chinese Communist Party, and noted there was evidence found that showed the hackers were attempting to conceal the origins of the hackers.
"The hackers, known to the private sector as 'Volt Typhoon,' used privately-owned SOHO routers infected with the 'KV Botnet' malware to conceal the PRC origin of further hacking activities directed against U.S. and other foreign victims. These further hacking activities included a campaign targeting critical infrastructure organizations in the United States and elsewhere," the DOJ said in a news release.

Republicans certainly have been making note recently of key statements by senior leaders in the Democratic Party that have been viewed as undermining the campaign of Kamala Harris. They've even been using them in ads promoting former President Donald Trump's campaign, sometimes including nothing more than a statement by a Democrat, and Trump's confirmation that he approved the message.
It's those with the Biden name, the Clinton name, and others, who have been unleashing startlingly anti-Harris comments recently.
And now former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has put into words what he believes is going on:
He explains, "We're in the early stages of watching her collapse. … It's just my hunch … that sometime in the last two weeks, Joe and Jill looked at each other and thought, you know, wouldn't it be a great legacy if Joe's the only guy ever to beat Trump? And I think the stuff he's done to undermine her in the last ten days is pretty amazing."
It is a report at Revolver.news that has assembled a list of those incidents.
"To the casual onlooker, it's clear that the old guard of the Democrat Party – people like the Bidens and the Clintons—have no love for Kamala Harris. In fact, if you're paying even the slightest bit of attention, you'll notice the old guard is actively sabotaging her. Whether intentional or not, their disdain for Kamala and the way she 'rose to power' is leading to some serious backstabbing," the report said.
It cited Joe Biden's decision just weeks ago to wear a MAGA hat, linked directly to President Donald Trump's Make American Great Again campaign.
Then, while Harris is desperately trying to find some way to separate herself from the Biden-Harris administration failures, for which she was the "border czar" and responsible for the failed multi-billion dollar campaign to link rural America to the web, Biden is putting her resoundingly in his camp.
Then she attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over his actions following Hurricane Helene, and Biden defended and praised him.
"But Joe's not the only one, folks. Bill Clinton is now shuffling around the campaign trail, and he's made some eyebrow-raising moves to sabotage Kamala, just weeks away from Election Day. It's hard to tell if these are the actions of senile men who don't have a clue, or if they're actually lucid, making well-calculated moves against a power-hungry woman who's never earned anything on her own merits," the report said.
Clinton recently confirmed what Republicans have said for years: Democrats want open borders and mass illegal immigrant actually to replace American voters:
And he confirmed the Biden-Harris campaign to do that has brought misery to Americans, such as the family of Laken Riley, killed by an illegal alien. He said Riley probably would be alive had Harris, as Biden's "border czar," insisted that those entering the U.S. be properly vetted.
The report explained while Biden is undermining Harris, "it's Bill Clinton who's really going full throttle in destroying Kamala. He's plunging the dagger right into the heart of her flailing campaign. As we mentioned, he's out on the trail for Team Kamala, and while he's out there – looking like he's been rode hard and put away wet – he's also telling the country that Kamala Harris is pushing the Great Replacement Theory. That's the theory that (correctly) claims globalists are letting their countries be overrun by migrants and illegals to create new demographics and voting blocs while erasing white people and the middle class."
The report explained those seniors in the Democrat party "believe they know she led a soft coup against Joe Biden, and now they're paying her back for the dirty work. From Biden contradicting her at every turn to Bill Clinton throwing out the truth bombs about her failed leadership and border disaster, it's obvious they're doing some sneaky stuff under the radar to make sure she never gets anywhere near the Oval Office."
Harris' "soft coup" happened when elites in the party decided to throw Biden under the bus and install Harris as the party's candidate this year, without her ever winning a single primary vote.

Rumors IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi assassinated circulated on X
At the same time Israel was attempting to deal with the fallout from the Hezbollah drone attack on a northern army base, which left 4 young soldiers dead and dozens wounded, rumors began circulating on X that the IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi was killed in the strike.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of using UNIFIL soldiers – who are supposed to have stopped the terrorist group rearming – as human shields as they battle IDF troops attempting to clear them out of the border area.

Iranian ballistic missile attack caused at least $40 million worth of damage to Israel
Despite reports Iran's Oct. 1 ballistic missile attack did little-to-no-damage to Israel, it is now estimated the 181 projectiles – many of which were intercepted – actually caused between $40 and $53 million. It is not thought the damage to air force bases in Israel's north were included in this estimate.

Many American universities allowed, even protected and facilitated, a series of anti-Semitic events and anti-Israel protests over the last year, as Hamas-supporting propagandists tried to paint Israel's response to the terror organization's slaughter of 1,200 Israelis somehow as destroying Gaza's children.
In fact, those children do become casualties of the conflict triggered by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, because Hamas sets up its military operations in schools, under hospitals and more.
Many of those schools were criticized for their schemes that allowed Jewish students to be harassed and bullied.
But one institution, the university of Pennsylvania, now is facing a backlash that is more damaging than just words.
It's losing millions of dollars in donations.
And it has been informed that major corporations no longer will emphasize hiring employees who are graduates of the school.
According to a report from Fox, the donor who has severed ties to UPenn is David Magerman, venture capitalist and philanthropist, who confirmed he's reallocated an estimated $5 million in donations away from the school.
"Magerman said he will give $1 million grants to five institutions of higher learning across Israel, including Tel Aviv University, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Bar-Ilan University and Jerusalem College of Technology," the report said.
He explained, of the community of corporate executives he knows, "I think their eyes have been opened to the mentality of some of the graduates of these schools and what they've been learning."
The report explained Magerman halted his donations to his alma mater last year when its political agenda became apparent.
Now he's announcing the $5 million being directed to Israeli universities.
More will be coming, he promised.
"My plan is to redirect my philanthropic efforts going forward largely to Israel," he told Fox News Digital. "I don't see much value generated by giving to American universities. I think that liberal colleges in America are flawed institutions that are doing a poor job of preparing students for the real world."
The report noted actually "several" major University of Pennsylvania donors have cut ties to the school over the ideologies it expressed after the terrorist attack on Israel.
He said that's a good response.
"They're fulfilling the mission they want to fulfill. Their goal, it seems, is to indoctrinate their students to question the validity of Western civilization, to question the value of the Founding Fathers and to criticize Western society. I don't think that's what these philanthropists believe and I don't think that they should be donating money to support propagating that ideology."
He said Jewish students should continue their pursuit of degrees at those institutions if that is "their best outcome."
But their decision should include whether "that's the best place for them to learn … whether I would be well served going to an institution where clearly the administration, in large part the faculty and in large part the student body, don't want me there. Is that really the environment you want to go to learn subject matter that you can learn online or abroad or at different colleges across the U.S.?" he said.
He pointedly noted that "that name on your diploma" might not be worth being subjected to an anti-Semitic environment.
Magerman himself previously had donated $10 million to UPenn, but wrote the school, "You have shown me who you are. My only remaining hope is that all self-respecting Jews, and all moral citizens of the world, dissociate themselves from Penn."
Apollo CEO Marc Rowan, who donated $50 million to UPenn in 2018, called on other donors at the time to send $1 checks with the hopes of forcing a change in leadership at the university, the report said, adding, Ross Stevens of Stone Ridge Asset Management pulled his donation estimated at approximately $100 million shortly thereafter.
The school triggered the outrage by holding on campus a Palestinian literary event that included speakers espousing anti-Semitic agendas, such as "death to Israel."
UPenn president Liz Magill eventually quit after she refused, before Congress, to say that anti-Semitic charges and demands for genocide violated the school's code of conduct.

Federal officials are reporting that consumer prices were up 2.4% in September from a year earlier, higher than the predicted 2.3%, as the Biden-Harris economy worsens just as the presidential election approaches in November.
The announcement triggered a government calculation that Social Security checks will rise by 2.5% starting in January, exactly one-tenth of the 25% inflation that American consumers have faced under the regime of Biden and Harris, according to an independent assessment by expert economists.
The announcement from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is being watched closely by markets as well as the Federal Reserve, which will meet next in November and could leave interest rates inflated as they've been for virtually all of the Biden-Harris tenure.
In September, the Fed cut interest rates by half a point.
Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for the campaign of President Donald Trump, who turned over 1.4% inflation to Biden and Harris when they took office, said, "Kamala Harris' terrible economic policies continue to hit the American people where it hurts. The latest inflation report come in hotter than anticipated, overall prices are still up more than 20% since Kamala took office, and real average weekly earnings are down 3.4%."
She continued, "Eggs, for goodness' sake, are 70% more expensive since Kamala Harris took office!"
She said, "Additionally, the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits last week jumped to the highest level in a year. If Kamala is given another four years, our economy will nosedive into the worst depression this country has ever seen. Americans will continue to be robbed of their paychecks with astronomical inflation and higher taxes. There is only one solution to fix our economy: re-electing President Trump. He's a businessman with a proven track record of success and will turn Kamala's worsening economy around on day on."
That independent economic analysis, in fact, concluded that the U.S. actually has been in a Biden-Harris-led recession since 2022.
Lindsay James, an investment strategist said in a report in the Daily Mail the inflation report doesn't trigger alarm bells, yet.
But "clearly large risks remain on the horizon," she said. "Conflict in the Middle East continues to threaten to send oil prices much higher and provide fresh inflationary concerns, while the recent hurricane damage in the U.S. is likely to make data a little harder to collect and analyze for the Fed.
"As has been stressed heavily, cautious steps will be taken to bring rates down to a sustainable level, without troubling the wider economy."
She explained core inflation, a measure of inflation that strips out the volatile sectors of food and energy, increased to 3.3 percent in September.
The inflation rate was 2.5% in August.

There's been a lot of open speculation about how effective the U.S. Secret Service, under the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration, has been in protecting President Donald Trump, who held that office from 2017-2021 and once again is a candidate.
After all, that administration is the same administration that effectively has weaponized the Department of Justice to attack Trump, for his comments about the 2020 election, for his handling of government documents, even for his business operations, as a related state agenda demanded.
Further, he's been targeted by at least two assassination attempts in just the past few weeks, including one that left him wounded. And there have been multiple concerns and complaints that the Secret Service repeatedly denied him the level of protection his own campaign staff said was needed.
Now the situation has gotten worse.
A Fox News report explains that Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., has documented reports from a whistleblower that Secret Service leaders are trying "to hide the level of protection given to former President Donald Trump."
The chief of the agency already has quit in the wake of agents' failures to protect Trump in that assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, a few weeks ago.
Hawley sent letters to the Secret Service chief Ronald Rowe and the Department of Homeland Security inspector general Joseph Cuffan, revealing that at this point government auditors are being denied access to some Trump campaign events in an effort "to hide these apparent protection shortfalls for the former president," the report said.
"You of course have publicly stated that former President Trump is receiving 'the highest level of Secret Service protection' and that 'he's getting everything.' This new whistleblower information troublingly contradicts your public statements," Hawley told the bureaucrats.
Hawley charged, to Cuffan, that, "Secret Service headquarters blocked several of your auditors from accessing recent Trump campaign events."
Hawley continued, "The Secret Service whistleblower alleges that the denial was in order to hide the fact that the former president is not receiving a consistent level of protective assets for all of his engagements. [Y]ou should be aware of these allegations, which indicate that the Secret Service is not in fact cooperating with your auditors and is instead painting a false picture."
Hawley has been hearing from whistleblowers since that July 13 attempt on Trump's life, when he was nicked in the ear by a bullet that likely would have killed him had he not turned his head to look at a poster display at just that second.
He's given credit to God for saving his life.
Hawley already has released a lengthy report detailing a list of allegations against Washington's bureaucracy.
"Hawley found a 'compounding pattern of negligence, sloppiness, and gross incompetence that goes back years, all of which culminated in an assassination attempt that came inches from succeeding,'" Fox reported.
Trump, besides crediting a higher power for sparing his life, has commented on suspicions that outside enemies, including Iranian interests, are trying to take him out.
The Washington Examiner notes that Trump has charged that Biden should threaten to bomb Iran if those linked to the rogue Islamic empire try to assassinate him.
"Iran has an open threat out for me, and that's bad. And Biden, if he were a real president, if he were the kind of guy he should be, he should say, 'If anybody shoots a former president, who's now the leading candidate, even though he's leading against Democrats, we will bomb that country into oblivion.' And it would stop."
The report noted, "Iran has openly touted plans to assassinate Trump since his administration's assassination of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps leader Qassem Soleimani in January 2020."
The two assassination attempts of Trump in July and September were not linked with the Iranian government.

Christopher Steele, the discredited ex-British intelligence officer who fabricated the wild claims about then-candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election in the pay of Hillary Clinton's team, now says journalists basically are stupid.
And he says that "disinformation" is actually true.
Steele's "dossier," the salacious, and false, claims about Trump that were used by his detractors during that election, was a series of memos he wrote, in the pay of the Democrat National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign, that made those unsubstantiated claims.
Eventually, the DNC was fined $105,000 and the Clinton campaign $8,000 for their funding of those documents, which violated federal law.
It was Paul Bedard in his Washington Secrets column recently, in which he explained he obtained exclusive access to the details of agreements between the DNC, and Clinton campaign, and the Federal Election Commission.
"The election agency said that Clinton and the DNC violated strict rules on describing expenditures of payments funneled to the opposition research firm Fusion GPS through their law firm," he reported.
The dossier was just part of the orchestrated campaign to damage Trump during the 2016 election. Evidence has now shown that Clinton proposed creating the illusion that Trump's campaign was somehow tied to Russia in order to divert the public's attention from her own email scandal percolating at the time. In fact, Barack Obama apparently was even briefed on that strategy.
Eventually, the series of wild allegations prompted Democrats to push for a special counsel, and Robert Mueller spent years "investigating" the claims, only to come up without evidence the Democrats demanded.
Now Steele, according to Washington Examiner, is trying to rehabilitate his reputation after earning a global status as a liar.
In a commentary, in which he promotes a book and tries to "salvage his credibility," he said in Newsweek that disinformation can be "true information that is missing key context."
"When people talk about disinformation, it's a bit of a misnomer," Steele wrote. "A lot of disinformation is true and factual, but it's slanted, or it leaves things out, or emphasizes some things at the expense of others."
Further, he expressed very low esteem for journalists, who willingly took his own disinformation in the 2016 campaign and moved it forward as if it was true.
"My fear — and I don't wish to sound condescending about it — is that your average journalist, even your average investigative journalist, really doesn't have the depth of knowledge and skill to deal with these things properly," he charged.
Steele's "memos" about Trump were unleashed on the world in 2017 by BuzzFeed, allegations that ultimately were debunked.
The report said, "In the months and years after the document was published, the Steele dossier's credibility unraveled. Revelations surfaced that Trump's opponent, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, paid Steele to perform research about Trump and compile the document."
A spokesman for the current Trump campaign said, "Any new information by this foreign agent who peddled the debunked Steele dossier should be wholly dismissed, and any media outlet that entertains anything he has to say is just the continuation of election interference intended to meddle in the campaign."
The facts are that the DNC and Clinton campaign paid more than $1 million to Fusion GPS, which in turn paid Steele for his creative writings.
They got in trouble because they had described the payments as being for "legal advice and services," which they were not.

Twice-failed Democrat White House hopeful Hillary Clinton first demanded that Democrats have control of the press.
Now she's added social media to her demand list.
Or she warns "we" will "lose control."
WND reported only days ago her demands that Democrats must control the press.
She said, "Well I do think that, uhm, the, the press needs a consistent narr … I mean the, the press is not supporting Trump, blatantly, very persistently. The press is trying to be the press, be objective, reporting the facts… uhm. The press needs a consistent narrative about the danger that Trump poses, because you know people may still look at the dangers and say 'I don't care, doesn't you know doesn't affect me I'm going to vote for him, for X Y or Z' but ok … But at least people need to be woken up and given the facts about what he has done, is saying and would do."
Now the Daily Mail reports she wants control of social media, too.
She said in an interview on CNN that "we" could "lose control" if they don't do enough to censor digital content.
Her agenda drew a backlash online, in fact.
"Democrats see the internet as a propaganda tool rather than a medium for the open exchange of information!!" warned Tom Callahan on social media.
The report explained, "Clinton called for the federal government to imitate states like California and New York to place more controls on social media."
She charged, "We need national action and sadly our Congress has been dysfunctional when it comes to addressing these threats to our children."
She continued, "[I]f the platforms, whether it's Facebook or Twitter/X or Instagram or TikTok, whatever they are, if they don't moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control.:"
Another social media participate said, "Who is 'we'?"
And Keth Outen said, "They're all telling us what their goal is. Only totalitarian governments use the phrase we must ban free speech or we lose control."
Clinton advocated removing protections for social media companies regarding what others post on their platforms, as a way to establish "guardrails … regulation."
The report elaborated on Clinton's agenda: "Since she first lost her life-long dream of becoming the first female president of the United States to former President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, Clinton has blamed the rise of 'misinformation' and 'fake news' for convincing voters not to trust her."
In September, Clinton called for more controls on online activity, specifically against Americans who were paid by foreign countries to spread online propaganda."
Her earlier comments about control of the press pointed out she believes, "This is dangerous stuff! It starts online often on the dark web. It migrates. It's picked up by the pro-Trump media. It's then reported on by everybody which makes sure it has about 100% coverage and people believe it! So I don't know what it's going to be but it will be something and we will have to work very hard to make sure that it is exposed as the lie that it is.""
Of course, what Clinton and other leftists repeatedly have claimed is misinformation, disinformation and malinformation – with their demands that it be suppressed, is nothing more than a political opinion that contradicts her own political opinion.

Russia and China have announced they will cooperate to carry out joint patrols in the Arctic Sea, marking the first time the Chinese have entered the area.
The Chinese Ministry of Defense released a statement this week, stating the joint venture will expand the Chinese Coast Guard's operational range significantly, and "bolstered" its international and regional maritime governance.
"On September 21, Chinese and Russian coast guard vessels began joint patrols in the North Pacific. The coast guards conducted law enforcement inspections on fishing vessels operating in the region, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 46/215 and the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean," the ministry said.
It further states the operation was aimed at "maintaining order in high-seas fisheries" and joint exercises were conducted in search and rescue, locating illegal vessels, and damage control.
China is currently mapping out alternative sea routes, and has used the new route through the Arctic Sea as an alternative trade route between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The routes are largely being used by Russia to deliver oil to China, while avoiding sanctions from Western nations, according to Reuters.
Mercy Kuo, executive vice president of Pamir Consulting, a global risk intelligence firm in Washington, D.C., told the Diplomat in December 2023, that China's ambitions are pushing it to make its presence known in one of the world's most untapped places.
"Beijing under Xi Jinping has deliberately re-envisioned China not only as an Arctic stakeholder, but a "near-Arctic" power. The CCP [Chinese Communist Party] framed China's entry into the region as mutually beneficial to the littoral Arctic states, highlighting potential commercial endeavors and (ostensibly dual-use) scientific research. Officials codified this concept in 2018 through the "Ice" or "Polar Silk Road" (PSR) – part of its globe-spanning Belt and Road Initiative," Kuo said.
Kuo added the Chinese have put more than $90 billion into the initiative, and both nations have mutually agreed to collaborate on harnessing Arctic energy and transport.
According to an op-ed published by Politico and written by Liselotte Odgaard, a senior fellow at Hudson Institute, the friendship between Russia and China is a "no-limits" partnership, allowing China to test its Arctic capabilities, while Russia's nuclear threats towards the U.S. and its NATO allies are bolstered and also keep eyes turned away from the threat in the Indo-Pacific region.
"Just how important the Arctic is to Russia in terms of maintaining its threatening nuclear posture toward the U.S. cannot be overstated. In a nuclear exchange, Moscow would likely fire long-range ballistic missiles – from ballistic missile submarine bases near the Kola Peninsula – through the poorly surveyed airspace over Greenland. And hindered by low visibility in the Arctic, U.S. forces would be ill-prepared to detect and counter the strike," Odgaard said.
A report from Bloomberg notes the U.S. and its NATO allies are now forming a security group to counter China and Russia. The security group was formed because the Arctic Council has Russia as a member, and there are no forums that allow NATO allies to discuss security concerns without the involvement of Russia, according to Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.
Canada is currently forming an alliance with Nordic nations, as they are now all members of NATO.
"For a long time Canada, we thought we were protected by our geography. But now we need to reckon that we are a country facing Russia and because of climate change, more countries are interested in the Arctic, including China … We need to be addressing this new reality," Joly told Bloomberg.
