A worker has won his fight with a union over its insistence on withholding "assessments" from his paycheck, claiming that the Supreme Court ruling in Janus v. AFSCME applied only to "dues."

The Liberty Justice Center is the organization that announced the result for plumber Nicolo Giangrasso.

It reported the UA Local 9 in the region has agreed to settle, prompting the legal action in court to be dropped.

Liberty Justice Center had charged that it does not matter whether the union calls money "dues" or "assessments," it still has no authority to take it under Supreme Court precedent.

"In its landmark 2018 decision Janus v. AFSCME, the U.S. Supreme Court found that public employees have a First Amendment right to decide whether to join or financially support a union. The court also held that unless workers give their 'affirmative consent' to waive that right, a union cannot legally withhold any union dues or other fees from their paychecks," the legal team explained.

At that time, Giangrasso, a New Jersey plumber employed by the Hamilton Township School District, resigned his union membership and requested the union stop deducting dues from his paychecks.

However, the legal team noted, the union simply refused, making the claim the high court impacted only "dues" and not its "assessments."

A federal lawsuit followed shortly and the Liberty Justice Center explained to the court it doesn't matter what the union calls the money it takes, it's not allowed to do that.

It's because the Supreme Court's opinion specifically cited 'any other form of payment."

The result was the union agreed to settle the fight.

"It should not have taken a lawsuit for the union to honor Mr. Giangrasso's First Amendment rights," said Jeffrey Schwab, lawyer at the Liberty Justice Center. "But we are proud to have taken a stand for his constitutional rights and will continue to challenge union policies that violate workers' rights across the country."

Details of the settlement were not immediately released.

The state of Texas, like the rest of America, is confronted now with an exploding mental health and substance abuse crisis, with what has been called a "dire shortage" of professional social workers to help people cope.

So it banned two workers, grandmothers with master's degrees, from the industry, because they'd been involved in assault cases years ago when they both were fighting substance abuse problems.

And the state is getting sued over its restrictions.

It is the Institute for Justice that has sued the state on behalf of Katherin Youniacutt and Tammy Thompson, saying they should not be punished permanently for past mistakes during troubled times from which they have fled.

It is the Texas Constitution that protects Texans' right to earn an honest living in an occupation of their choosing without unreasonable government interference, and a state ban on them pursuing social work that appears to conflict.

"No one should be permanently barred from a job because of irrelevant criminal convictions," said IJ lawyer James Knight. "Katherin and Tammy made mistakes and paid for them. Permanently punishing them doesn't protect the public. It just makes it harder for people to pull themselves up and provide for their families. That's unconstitutional."

The substance abuse issues and related problems all came about more than a decade ago.

The institute said they have "turned their lives around and want to help people who have faced similar problems."

The lawyers noted it is a 2019 law adopted in the state that "permanently bars people with an assault conviction from obtaining a social work license," and that has destroyed plans by the two for helping people after the two worked on their dreams.

"Previously, the board in charge of licensing had the discretion to award licenses to those with convictions based on evidence presented to them. Now, its hands are tied, and even people like Katherin and Tammy with over a decade of good behavior and years of training must be categorically denied without a hearing," the IJ explained.

Youniacutt explained, "All I want is to help people so they won't make the same mistakes I did. Texas isn't just punishing me, it's punishing all the people I could be helping right now."

Thompson, in a statement released by her lawyers, said, "I've spent decades turning my life around and years preparing for the chance to work as a social worker. People should be able to prove they've moved on, but in Texas, the past is all that seems to matter."

The IJ said its work includes fighting those "permanent punishment laws" across the nation, and it already has handled battles in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Maryland.

Billionaire Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy have been tasked by President-elect Donald Trump to go through the federal government and cut down on waste.

Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX executive who bought Twitter, got rid of a significant percentage of its staff and is watching it still perform in the marketplace, once estimated he could reduce federal spending by $2 trillion.

Most of the bureaucratic reaction has been fear and loathing so far, from entrenched federal payroll recipients who want no more work and no less pay.

But not at NASA.

report at Daily Mail explains staff members there "are calling on Elon Musk to 'clean house.'"

It's partly because of the millions of taxpayer dollars that have gushed through the agency on the way to racist "diversity, equity and inclusion" programs.

"A former NASA employee told DailyMail.com that NASA's DEI is 'destroying America's ability to compete with China in space because the Biden-Harris administration will only fund programs that feature it.'"

In the overall scheme of federal spending, NASA's role is less than many other agencies, with a budget of some $20 billion.

But large parts of that money now are going, according to spending reports during the Biden-Harris administration, "to universities and consulting firms to support 'environmental justice' and initiatives that 'embrace greater diversity and inclusive practices.'"

For instance, LMI Consulting got $2 million in 2023 to "incorporate and deeply engrain diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the culture and business."

Booz\ Allen Hamilton took $3 million for NASA's "office of diversity and equal opportunity," and another $7 million last month went for "minority-serving institutions."

The report said that's even as there are budget shortfalls for the agency's main mission.

Software engineer Kyle Sorensen told he hopes Musk will "clean house."

Its Jet Propulsion Laboratory laid off 325 employees from its workforce recently, on top of 535 let go months back.

NASA also gave a private organization $900,000 for "increasing diversity and inclusion in the leadership of completed space missions by establishing an ad hoc committee to recommend actions to increase diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the leadership of space mission proposals."

"DailyMail.com uncovered more DEI grants worth missions that had not published in the spending report," the report said.

Another former employee told the publication, "NASA JPL will lay off almost a thousand workers this year to make budget space for a plethora of ridiculous word salad DEI and environmental programs which contribute nothing to actual space exploration. DEI is a full employment program for people with otherwise useless degrees."

Two judges in the Washington, D.C., region are pressing pause on various trials for Jan. 6, 2021, case defendants amid President-elect Donald Trump's confirmation he'll consider pardons for them.

Multiple thousands of individuals who were part of a protest against suspicious developments in the 2020 presidential election have been charged and convicted of offenses like trespassing for walking into the Capitol building when authorities said it was "closed."

They sometimes walked past security guards who were holding the doors open for them, but nonetheless were charged anyway.

About 600 already have been given, and many have served, prison terms.

Many others have remained in jail for years awaiting the resolution of their cases.

Now it is Politico that has reported U.S. District Judges Rudolph Contreras and Carl Nichols have suspended action on those pending cases, to avoid calling in dozens of possible jurors for cases that will end.

The judges have, after multiple requests, agreed that Trump's coming inauguration could make the proceedings fruitless.

The federal Department of Justice has objected to the moves, insisting on sending as many Trump supporters to jail as possible in what has come to be seen as primary evidence of the weaponization of the Department of Justice by Democrats against Trump and his supporters.

Politico reported, "It's the first time federal judges have acquiesced to the demands of Jan. 6 defendants for delays in anticipation of potential pardons from Trump, who has pledged to grant clemency to many people charged for their role in the attack on the Capitol."

Trump has said several times that he thinks most of those defendants did nothing to deserve prison time, but that there are a few who vandalized the Capitol that do need to be punished.

One case defendant, William Pope, representing himself, had been scheduled for trial next month on misdemeanor charges, and Contreras agreed to consider a trial, if necessary, in February.

"Nichols, similarly, declined to set an imminent trial date for three Jan. 6 defendants charged with misdemeanors for trespassing in the Capitol. Without prompting, he asked prosecutors whether they expected the trial would go on even after Trump took over the Justice Department. When the prosecutor in the case could not confirm either way, Nichols opted to set an April trial date and postpone all other deadlines, allowing time for the Justice Department to recalibrate after Trump takes office," the report added.

Multitudes of the defendants already have had their cases changed, after the Supreme Court ruled prosecutors had incorrectly used a specific charge against them that was not allowed.

Other judges have claimed that Trump's commitment to the defendants is "speculative."

One judge, Paul Friedman, claimed that whatever the president would do "is irrelevant to the court's" own obligations.

A report at the Gateway Pundit said Joe Biden's Department of Justice, under Merrick Garland, already has pushed to have sentenced 944 individuals from events that day.

More than 560 have been sent to prison.

Most of the judges hearing the cases, leftist in their own ideologies, "remained defiant after the Supreme Court reversed the 'obstruction' statute," the report said.

That was when the Supreme Court delivered a stunning blow to the DOJ by rejecting its use of a specific statute regarding obstruction of an official proceeding in the J6 cases.

The judges responded to that correction by their own judiciary superiors by threatening to add "enhancements" to J6 cases against defendants.

"I am not alone in believing this election is, really, the last shot we have in saving our country," said Elizabeth Farah, co-founder of WND before the Nov. 5 presidential election. The wife of veteran journalist and WND founder Joseph Farah, Elizabeth has thus been laser-focused on helping inform and awaken as many Americans as possible regarding the political and cultural war that has all but consumed America. In pursuit of that goal, she has launched an ambitious podcast show, daily interviewing some of the most knowledgeable and compelling experts, analysts and activists – first on the radioactive topic of "Kamala's America: The Nightmare Scenarios Revealed" – and now, post-election, on the restoration of America to its traditional, constitutional, Judeo-Christian principles.

One recent interview is with Eric Metaxas, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of "Bonhoeffer," "Martin Luther," "Amazing Grace," "Miracles," "Letter to the American Church," "Religionless Christianity" and many other books, and a popular Christian broadcaster. Metaxas and Elizabeth Farah discuss "The Critical Point of No Return," aka the Nov. 5 presidential election.

The previous (and first) interview in the series to be posted was with filmmaker and activist Jaco Booyens, exposing the appalling level of sex trafficking plaguing America during the Biden-Harris administration.

Other recent Elizabeth Farah interviews have included: Dennis Prager, Dr. Robert Malone, Trevor Loudon, Dr. Naomi Wolf, Jack Cashill, Darrell Scott, Walid Phares, Xi Van Fleet, Tony Shaffer, William Wolfe and Jeffrey Tucker. And that's just for starters.

Farah sums up her view of America's current historic crisis this way: "The Marxist globalists have been building the Deep State year by year for decades, during every presidential administration, regardless of which party occupies the White House. They thought this process would continue without challenge until America had been irrevocably transformed. To accomplish this, they needed a weaponized Department of Justice and intelligence agencies, effective control over elections, a massive flood of uneducated illegal alien voters who can't understand our language and come from cultures often incompatible with ours, and a permanent bureaucratic state staffed by leftists. They've accomplished all that.

"The only components missing from irretrievably hardening the Democrat socialist state are: 1) the subjection of the U.S. Supreme Court by packing it and imposing term-limits, and 2) adding two more states and, thereby, four more Democrat senators to our union. With that, the 'Making America Great Again' reformation would be dead."

However, adds Farah:

Enter, now, Donald J. Trump who promises to drain the swamp and destroy the Deep State. But this time he is fully informed, has learned from his mistakes and has chosen J.D. Vance, a brilliant, powerful and like-minded running mate, who is ready to go day one.

Adding to the Trump threat is the "American Enlightenment." How the elites hate that. More Americans, white, black and brown, rich and poor, young and old have been awakened – not "woke."

And yet, if Harris and Walz somehow pull off a win, either because Christians, conservatives, gun-owners and other normal, sane citizens are too lazy or indifferent to vote, or because of Democrats' malevolent election-fraud program, Harris and Walz, directed by Obama and supported by the weaponized Deep State, will have to finish the job quickly in a few years to prevent any other dangerous opposition rising again. This means the Harris-Walz regime will rapidly dismantle the constitutional protections that have long been the only thing standing between liberty and totalitarianism in America.

WorldNetDaily, which despite continual attacks on it over the last decade has undergone some significant expansion in recent months, is currently engaged in multiple projects designed to shine a very bright journalistic light on November's election and what many Americans increasingly see not as a political battle, but one of clear-cut good versus evil.

A joint statement signed by multiple church organizations, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Baptist Church Norway, the Pentecostal movement there, and the Norwegian Roman Catholic Bishops' Council is warning the Norwegian government against imposing LGBT indoctrination.

It is the "Joint Christian Declaration on 'Diversity of Gender and Sexuality'" that warns of trying to impose leftist ideologies.

"We hold that public authorities and governmental bodies exceed their mandate and power by attempting to pressure citizens and organizations to adapt to 'queer theory' on gender, sexuality, and marriage. Such activism on the part of government violates religious freedom and freedom of conscience, as well as the rights of parents," explains the statement adopted by the church groups.

The Christian Institute explains that the target of the statement is the government's "Action Plan on Gender and Sexual Diversity."

The feds in Norway are scheming to impose "regional courses and one-day-events on LGBT+."

A total of 47 denominations and organizations have joined the protest.

The document explains, "We stand up for a democratic, pluralistic, and open-minded society where there is space for diversity of beliefs characterized by mutual respect. Freedom of expression and conscience, as well as religious freedom, are for us central and essential values."

The statement continues, "The notion that gender is a subjective category and that sexual and gender identity can be freely chosen based on feelings or preference, irrespective of biological sex, is based on ideology. It has no biological or scientific foundation."

Transgenderism, which has been ardently promoted by the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration in Washington, doesn't happen scientifically, as the fact of being male or female is embedded in the human body down to the DNA level.

The church groups warned Norwegian government officials such ideology is "incompatible with our faith, thought, and worldview," and can lead "to confusion, insecurity, and destructive life choices for many children and young people."

Jose Luis Bazan of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union said such actions have come to be known as "polite persecution," referring to governments' "compelling policies and legislation."

The church's statement recalls a number of biblical teachings, that "God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Ha has created human beings male and female" and that "All people are created in the image of God. All are deeply loved by Him, have the same inherent human dignity, and are equally precious."

Marriage, too "is a divine institution inscribed in natural law. Marriage unites one man and one woman. Founded by God, confirmed by Christ and the Apostles, this institution of marriage has been recognized by the Christian church throughout the centuries."

It recognizes, "Marriage between one man and one woman constitutes the Biblical framework for sexual relationships. Other forms of sexual relationships represent a 'diversity' at odds with the Bible's theology of creation and with Jesus's ethical teaching, even when these relationships are marked by long-lasting fidelity."

It states bluntly, "There are only two biological sexes: female and male. The sex of each individual is determined at conception." Further, "It is immensely problematic to teach children and young people that there are 'boys, girls, and other genders" that there exists an 'interior gender'; that they may happen to have been 'born in the wrong body'; and that gender is 'fluid'. This manner of influence may lead to confusion, insecurity, and destructive life choices for many children and young people."

U.S. stocks surged to record-breaking highs Wednesday after President-elect Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election against his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to a report from the New York Times, the U.S. dollar strengthened, while government bond yields soared. It is not unusual to have a buzz of activity post-election, however, analyst Kristina Hooper, chief global market strategist at Invesco, told the NYT the reaction from traders looks strong.

"What we are seeing is a visceral reaction to a surprising outcome given very tight polling … Markets are reacting positively to a decisive victory," Hooper said.

The report notes the S&P 500 rose by 2.5%, the largest in two years, while the Dow climbed by 3.6%. Smaller company tracker Russell 2000 also broke a two-year record, soaring upwards by almost 5%.

Bitcoin's value increased exponentially, reaching a record high after Trump had to make the U.S. the "crypto capital of the planet," and promised to ease the Biden administration's regulations on cryptocurrency.

Tesla stock rose by almost 15%, while the price of gold fell. Shares in private prisons were bumped up more than 40 percentage points, while sectors that support business growth like energy increased in value by 10%.

Brigg MacAdam Ltd's founding partner Greg Swenson who is based in London, said during an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, the news of Trump's win excited investors abroad.

"Really exciting news here. You could see it in the European markets, you can see it in the Asian markets even, and so I think the 'Trump Trade' is back on, obviously. It's really in many ways, the Trump deregulation trade, and I think maybe the European countries could take a page out of Trump's playbook and think about deregulation," Swenson said.

Swenson said investors are most excited about deregulation, which has stimulated investments like Bitcoin.

Two days prior to the election, the U.S. stock market had dipped according to the Associated Press, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq falling 0.3% respectively, while the Dow fell by 0.6% or 257 points.

While the U.S. economy seems to be on the upswing, the good fortune has "rattled" some of the U.S. biggest adversaries, including China, according to a report from Fox News.

On Trump's victory, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated they want cooperation and peace with the U.S., and want to handle China-U.S. relations with the "principles of mutual respect."

However, experts have said that China's President Xi Jinping will be feeling "rattled" by Trump's win, and the relationship between the two nations will likely hang on three key issues; trade, technology, and Taiwan.

Hayman Capital Management founder and CIO Kyle Bass, said during an interview with Fox Business Trump will be an effective negotiator with China, after small business owners voiced concerns about how tariffs on Chinese imports – which could possibly reach 60% – on will affect their companies.

"I think it's important to note that we have had all the indications of Xi Jinping's belligerence, and his limitless partnership with Putin … The cooperation you've seen between China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, it is an axis of evil that the allied West is up against," Bass said.

Larger American companies like Dollar Tree and Dollar General have also taken a hit because they rely on Chinese goods for their stock. Bass said he has no sympathy for companies who source their materials from China.

"They've had plenty of time to kind of move their supply chain somewhere else. We have a saying in our office that if U.S. national security was left up to the private sector, we'll all be speaking Chinese tomorrow."

Bass added solid leadership is the only way America can untether itself from its "mortal enemy."

"China has shown you and shown us whether you read the director of National Intelligence's threat assessment report to Congress each year, or whether you listen to FBI Director Ray … the intelligence community, they all know who our mortal enemy is."

In a stunning development on America's Election Day, there are prayers going on around the world for President Donald Trump, reported by pollsters in a neck-and-neck race with leftist Kamala Harris to guide the nation for the next four years.

During Trump's first term, he took multiple steps to protect religious rights, and he has promised to do more during a second term. During the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration, which would be continued under a Harris reign, Christians repeatedly have been attacked for their faith, including grandmothers in their 70s sent to prison for trying to advocate for the rights of the unborn.

So in an election fight that actually has as many spiritual facets as political, a church in Arvada, Colorado, is holding an election night prayer meeting about the future of the nation. The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump married Melania, is holding three prayer services over the course of the day.

Rev. Tim Schenck said, "And that will be the case this year as well. Anyone seeking a spiritual oasis in the midst of an anxious moment, is welcome to sit and pray in the church, walk through the gardens, or gaze into our koi pond."

Jack Graham, senior pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, prayed over Trump in his pursuit of the White House.

"We love you, Jesus, and we also love our country. And we thank you that you have raised up a man, Donald J. Trump, to be a warrior for the word of God and the wisdom that comes from God. Thank you for protecting him, for keeping your hand of blessing on him, and we pray as you raise him up once again to be our president that you would give him strength and wisdom and joy in the journey," Graham prayed.

Trump himself has repeatedly thanked God for protecting him during two assassination attempts in just recent weeks, including one in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a sniper's bullet hit him in the ear.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin welcomed Trump to a recent event "with a roaring tribute and a hushed prayer," a published report documented.

But the prayers weren't just from the United States.

It was the Gateway Pundit that compiled reports including an Iraqi priest praying for "a strong leader" for the U.S., "one who would protect persecuted Christians across the globe, particularly in the Middle East."

He said, "This day, November fourth, the eve of the U.S. presidential elections, I pray to the Lord for peace in the world, especially in the Middle East, where many countries are suffering from war and violence. I pray to the Lord to send us leaders who can guide the world—especially here in the Middle East and in places where Christians are persecuted—toward peace.

"We pray for you, Mr. Trump, asking the Lord to make you President of the U.S., for the good not only of the U.S. but of the world. May God bless you and bless the U.S."

The European Conservative reported, regarding Trump's first term, "When their prayers were answered, the Trump administration immediately began assisting with aid and the reconstruction of Nineveh, as the caliphate was defeated. I visited the region many times during both the Obama and Trump administrations, and I was able to see what American help meant for the much-reduced number of Christians who returned home. While far from easy, the assistance made a significant difference, even as the Christian community in Nineveh suffered the new threat of the increasing control exercised by the Shia militias, or Popular Mobilization Units, controlled by Iran."

The Biden-Harris regime, however, with "almost the first decision," "cut off all support for persecuted Christians, not only in Iraq, but across the globe."

Under the outgoing regime in the U.S., the report said, "LGBTQ and other progressive issues became the dominant focus in handing out aid. Christians were not just pushed to the bottom of the pile; they were not acknowledged at all."

Further, the Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft Hindu priest Swami Vedmurtinand Saraswati joined others of his faith in praying, "Donald Trump is the only leader who can bring world peace."

Previously, Christian children in India sought God's blessing of a "peaceful election" that would "ensure Trump's victory."

The publication also offered a prayer for Trump: "We come before You with humble hearts, lifting up President Trump as he embarks on this crucial journey in the election. We pray for Your divine guidance, wisdom, and strength to fill him, that he may lead with conviction, courage, and a heart set on serving the people. Lord, in this time of decision and challenge, surround him with Your protection. Shield him from all harm, falsehoods, and any attempts to bring him down. Grant him the clarity to see what is right, and the resilience to stand firm in his principles."

Franklin Graham, chief of Samaritan's Purse, linked to James Dobson's Family Talk with a comment that is "so true."

This election is not a junior high or high school popularity contest.

I'm not voting for the person, I'm voting for the platform.

I'm voting for the second amendment.

I'm voting for the next Supreme Court justice.

I'm voting for the electoral college.

I'm voting for the republic in which we live.

I'm voting for the police—and law and order.

I'm voting for the military and the veterans who fought and died for this country.

I'm voting for the flag that is often missing from public events.

I'm voting for the right to speak my opinion and not be censored for it.

I'm voting for secure borders.

I'm voting for the right to praise God without fear.

I'm voting for every unborn soul that is at risk of being aborted.

I'm voting for freedom and the American dream.

I'm voting for good against evil.

I'm not just voting for one person, I'm voting for the future of my country.

A now-viral video reveals Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed she would be willing to breach the U.S. Constitution to confiscate the guns of Americans if she wins the election.

Posted on to X by the social media platform's owner Elon Musk, Harris tells reporters if Congress fails to do something about gun control within the first 100 days of her administration, then she will take action.

"I think it's a great idea, but I mean listen, I don't think we lack for great ideas, as I've said many times, we've been having great ideas for decades, the problem is Congress has not had the courage to act. That is why from the beginning I have said, my agenda includes attempting to get Congress to act, but if they don't in the first 100 days of my administration, I'm gonna take executive action. What we need is action,"
" Harris said.
