White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has publicly explained why two Associated Press reporters were denied access to White House events: Their organization is pushing a "lie" by continuing to refer to the body of water off the coast of Louisiana as the Gulf of Mexico.
President Donald Trump, on his first day in office, ordered it renamed the "Gulf of America" and that was done for official government references. Apple and Google also have made that change. On Super Bowl Sunday this week, he designated Feb. 9 as "Gulf of America Day."
But AP, claiming that it needed to make its references easily recognizable for all audiences, said it would not change, although it would note Trump's announcement.
AP, which has held dictatorial power in journalism for decades by assembling and distributing its own journalism stylebook, which often has moved into advocacy for leftist ideals in recent years, released a statement from spokeswoman Julie Pace, who said, "It is alarming that the Trump administration would punish AP for its independent journalism. Limiting our access to the Oval Office based on the content of AP's speech not only severely impedes the public's access to independent news, it plainly violates the First Amendment."
Leavitt explained how that thinking was faulty:
Asked about the barred reporters, she said, "First of all, let me just set the record straight. It is a privilege to cover this White House. It is a privilege to be the White House press secretary. Nobody has the 'right' to go into the Oval Office and ask the president of the United States questions. That is an invitation that is given."
She noted, "There are hundreds of outlets on this campus, many of you in this room, who don't have the privilege of being part of that pool every single day, and getting to ask the president questions.
"We reserve the right to decide who gets to go into the Oval Office."
She then was asked about the reasons.
"I was very upfront in my briefing on day one that if we feel there are lies being pushed by outlets in this room, we are going to hold those lies accountable," she said, "It is a fact that the body of water off the coast of Louisiana is called the Gulf of America. And I'm not sure why news outlets don't want to call it that, but that is what it is.
"The secretary of Interior has made that the official designation, Apple has recognized that, Google has recognized that. Pretty much every other outlet in this room has recognized that body of water as the Gulf of America. And it's very important to this administration that we get that right, not just for people here at home but for also for the rest of the world."
Trump's agenda, of course, is the Make America Great Again plan, and his design is to promote the presence of America, and its influence, everywhere.
The agency reported Tim Richardson, of PEN America, claimed that the decision was "an affront to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bars the government from impeding the freedom of the press."
Also putting itself in an antagonistic position to Trump, the White House Correspondents Association, a private organization that imposes its ideologies on seating charts at White House press events, called it unacceptable.
While news organizations may say denying their access to the White House is a First Amendment issue, that question is cloudy, as they are among the few – out of thousands of news organizations nationwide – that have been given that access as a privilege. The decision actually imposes no control over what that reporting agency writes.
Of course, Trump's renaming of the gulf does not necessarily affect what other nations may label it.

A watchdog organization is demanding that the U.S. government, under the administration of President Donald Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency, defund a giant in the nation's abortion industry.
A report at Fox News explains the former administration, under Joe Biden, handed over $700 million in money collected from taxpayers to Planned Parenthood, during one reporting period.
Now a group organized by former Vice President Mike Pence is urging Elon Musk, head of DOGE, to cut off the "wasteful" spending to the abortion company.
"For the sake of the American people and generations yet unborn, the time has come for the United States to finally defund the largest abortion provider in America," Tim Chapman, president of Advancing American Freedom, told Musk in a letter.
The Government Accountability Office previously has reported that the abortion corporation routinely is given hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars though Health and Human Services grants and public health programs.
"Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates accounted for $148 million in HHS grants and $1.5 billion in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP payments, with regional organizations receiving an additional $108 million. Taxpayer dollars made up 34% of Planned Parenthood's funding, the letter stated, citing a 2022-2023 annual report by the Charlotte Lozier Institute," the report explained.
The letter praised the administration for working to eliminate waste and fraud, and said that the "opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood may be yours and President Trump's greatest moment."
Trump already has worked to remove support for abortion.
He has restored the Mexico City Policy which prohibits federal funding to international non-governmental organizations that perform or promote abortions. And he issued an executive order enforcing the 1980 Hyde Amendment to prevent federal funds from being used for elective abortions.

The American Center for Law and Justice is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hold accountable those who pay the bills for terror against Israel.
"This case represents more than a legal dispute – it's about protecting American lives and sending a clear message that those who support terrorism will be held accountable. The ACLJ remains committed to defending liberty, pursuing justice, and protecting the fundamental rights of Americans both at home and abroad," the legal team explained in an online report.
The group, which defends Israel in courts all over the world, has filed a friend-of-the-court brief in America's highest court urging the justices to keep American courts open to the victims of terror.
"By filing this brief, we stand firmly with victims of terrorism, urging the court to hold the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Palestinian Authority (PA) accountable for their ongoing support of terrorist activities that harm American citizens" the report said.
It explained America has the Taylor Force Act, which is a key piece of legislation to fight terrorist financing.
It was named in honor of Taylor Force, a brave U.S. Army veteran who was brutally murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in Israel.
It targets "the Palestinian Authority's deeply disturbing practice of providing financial rewards to terrorists and their families – a reprehensible policy that incentivizes violence against Americans and Israelis," the ACLJ report said. "By imposing strict conditions on U.S. economic assistance to the PA, the act ensures that American taxpayer dollars are not indirectly supporting terrorism, cutting off funding when the PA continues its 'pay-to-slay' program that provides salaries to individuals imprisoned for terrorist acts."
In fact, the ACLJ sued the Joe Biden administration for violating the law.
"To further implement and enforce the Taylor Force Act, Congress passed, and President Trump signed during his first term, the Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act (PSJVTA)," the report said. That is a tool crafted to provide American victims a way to justice.
"It creates a robust legal mechanism that enables victims of terrorist attacks to hold organizations accountable for their direct and indirect support of terrorism, specifically targeting entities like the PLO and PA. Congress said specifically that if the PLO and PA choose to continue to violate the Taylor Force Act and fund terrorism, as well as operate and fundraise in the United States, that conduct would be deemed implicit consent to participate in legal proceedings," the legal team noted.
However, now the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals has claimed that violates the due process rights of the terror-supporting organizations, and the ruling means they are shielded from accountability.
That lower court claimed there must be a "benefit" to the PLO and PA for them to be required to participate in court proceedings, a "requirement found nowhere in existing Supreme Court precedent."
The ACLJ said its brief came in Fuld v. PLO and United States v. PLO and explains, "When organizations knowingly support terrorism against Americans, they should face legal consequences in U.S. courts."
The report said, "Congress passed a law providing that if the PLO and PA continued to engage in this conduct, they would face consequences. They never stopped. The organizations admittedly continue making these payments despite clear congressional notice that doing so would subject them to American courts."
Even as the organizations continue the "pay-for-slay" payments, the ACLJ noted, "The idea that Congress must bargain with terrorists by giving them 'governmental benefit[s]' to obtain their willingness to subject themselves to the jurisdiction of federal courts is incongruous and absurd. It has no place in the law. If the PLO and PA choose[] to continue making these odious payments, thus encouraging more terrorist attacks and putting more Americans at risk, then under the PSJVTA it may be sued in U.S. courts."

A student at the University of Colorado was known to occasionally share her personal opinions on issues in society.
For example, she once told another person at the school she doesn't care "about your identity. I care more about what you have to say as a person."
The student, Zoe Johnson, also wondered why was LGBTQ Pride celebrated in June … and in October.
She also asked about the purpose of another student's headwear.
For these and other incidents, the school ordered her into a review by the university's Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance, which determined her speech was "unwelcome."
Now the school is being sued for violating her First and 14th Amendment rights.
It is a lawyer from the Dhillon Law Group that has taken the fight to federal court, charging that the school's OIEC violated her rights by subjecting her to an Orwellian crackdown on speech.
The legal team said the complaint charges "Johnson was subjected to a pattern of ideological enforcement disguised as a nondiscrimination policy, culminating in an investigation into her for engaging in everyday dialogue with classmates."
Her comments, that became part of the school's case against her, sometimes weren't even mentioned by anyone complaining, the lawyers explained.
Even so, she was ordered into a disciplinary meeting where she was "berated for her so-called 'white privilege.'"
Lawyer Matthew Sarelson, a partner at Dhillon, called the school's actions a textbook example of an unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination.
"Public universities cannot weaponize vague and subjective 'nondiscrimination' policies to silence students with opinions that diverge from the prevailing campus orthodoxy," Sarelson said. "Zoe Johnson was not targeted for harassment or discrimination—she was targeted because she asked reasonable questions in a learning environment that claims to encourage open discussion."
Spencer Brown, a spokesman for Young America's Foundation, which is supporting the case, said, "The University of Colorado Boulder is engaging in an insidious form of authoritarianism under the guise of inclusivity. Universities should be places where students sharpen their critical thinking skills, not where they are coerced into parroting approved viewpoints out of fear of punishment."
The case, in federal court in Colorado, names university President Todd Saliman, associate Vice Chancellor for OIEC Llen Pomeroy, executive Vice Chancellor Patrick O'Rourke and associate Director of Choral Activities Elizabeth K. Swanson as defendants.
The case seeks to have the defendants held personally, and financially, responsible.

Already, some 20,000 federal workers have accepted President Donald Trump's buyout offer for them to be paid through September, but leave their federal positions now and look for other work.
That's despite alarm from federal employee unions and even some state officials.
Axios reported that an official in the Trump administration said the 20,000 workers are the ones who have accepted the offer … so far.
The deadline was set for Thursday for takers to line up to participate.
Axios pointed out, "It's a significant number of people – about 1% of the federal workforce."
The report noted the White House targeted 5% to 10% of the employees participating, but the deadline hasn't been reached, and Trump very well could extend it, as he's negotiated deadlines for multiple other projects he's launched.
Employee unions have been raising alarms against the plan, as Trump is unlikely to allow the departing workers to be replaced, which could mean a lower number of workers in the unions, and paying union dues.
The administration official who spoke with Axios pointed out it's just one piece of the puzzle, with Trump plans already for massive reductions in the USAID program, in the Office of Personnel Management, and many more.
"The buyout offer entitles federal employees to stop working more or less immediately and continue to be paid through Sept. 30," the report said. The benefit comes from a short-term payout for a reduction in salary obligations for the federal government for years to come.
Critics claim there's no guarantee of payment, and they assume Congress would need to approve the plan, but Trump and his advisers say they are just following through on their commitment to restructure the government in ways that benefit taxpayers.
Some of those accepting the offer might have been intending to retire, or leave, anyway, the report noted.
Part of the program is that those workers who remain will be working in office, no longer being allowed to work from home.
Some on social media expressed their personal doubts.
And Consumer Affairs said 11 leftist attorneys general, led by New York's Letitia James, who orchestrated one of the Democrats' lawfare assaults on Trump, now on appeal, said, "President Trump's so-called buyout offers are nothing more than the latest attack on federal workers and the services they provide. These supposed offers are not guaranteed. Federal employees should be cautious and follow the guidance of their unions to protect their rights."
She claimed, "Attacking our federal workforce will only cause more chaos and confusion for Americans, and will diminish the quality of services our government provides."
Actually, millions of federal workers were offered the buyout program, as part of Trump's plan to remove waste, fraud and inefficiency from the federal government.
The federal employees also were told that those who did not take the offer were not guaranteed to keep their jobs.
"The American Federation of Government Employees, the largest federal employees union, released information for its members warning them that employees who accepted the offer were not guaranteed its benefits. The National Federation of Federal Employees similarly warned its members against accepting the offer," the report said.

President Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, or Bibi, at the White House on Feb. 4, the first foreign leader to meet in person with Trump at the White House since he was inaugurated.
The Trump-Bibi meeting is occurring right after the first American hostage was released this weekend by the Hamas terrorist group.
They were freed as part of the current Israel-Hamas deal, which mandates the release of 33 so-called "humanitarian hostages" during its first 42-day ceasefire phase.
The great news is that more of the 251 Israelis and foreigners are being released, those who were kidnapped on Oct. 7, 2023, when roughly 3,000 Hamas-led terrorists stormed into Israel, slaughtering 1,200-plus innocent civilians – including babies, kids, teens and elderly.
The tragic news is that, first, as Hamas' innocent hostages are gradually released, Israel is going to release some 1,904 Palestinian prisoners, including more than 100 serving life sentences for deadly terror attacks!
Further tragedy is found in the fact that Hamas finally got its way: The brutal barbarians abducted 251 innocent civilians not only to protect their own hides (as they cowardly live like rats in holes under Gaza) but ultimately as bargaining chips to get their terrorist friends and minions freed from Israeli captivity. That is why with each of the hostage releases, Hamas murderers have paraded them through streets and across pro-Hamas theatrical stages (with signs like, "Nazi Zionism will not win") for their own propaganda purposes. Repulsive!
While I'm ecstatic for the family and friends of the released hostages, I grieve as the terrorists around the world now realize that even Israel and America can be forced to the terrorist bargaining tables when you kidnap their people.
Do we not think the Hamas' hostage-for-prisoners swaps will spur on more terrorist abductions of innocent civilians in the future in Israel and elsewhere around the world?
Obviously, chief among the Trump-Bibi meeting at the White House this week is discussing and answering questions: Where do Israel and America go from here? How do they continue to destroy Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis (and the other Iranian proxies in the region) and yet prevent another Oct. 7th from ever happening again? How do Israel and America bring about a lasting Middle East peace?
I'll never forget when President Trump was speaking onboard Air Force One during his first term.
He compared one of the world's greatest territorial disputes – Israel vs. Palestine – to a business deal. He said, "I love doing deals." He added, "They say peace between Israel and the Palestinians is the toughest – the toughest of any deal."
He's right. There's no doubt, if Trump endeavors to "do a deal" in the Middle East during his second term, he will definitely encounter one of the (if not "the") greatest geographical strongholds in the entire world.
The truth is, Palestinian Arabs and other Islamic leaders have always been deadlocked with Israel over the Holy Land – since their very inception.
His enemies accuse Prime Minister Netanyahu and other conservatives of fighting against the peace process, but what peace process are they referring to? There's never been peace or a process that has worked well, despite political agreement after agreement that have been drafted.
For those who want to understand the history of the region, I encourage readers to go to YouTube and check out the five-minute video history summarizing the 4,000 years of upheaval in the Holy Land and its most sacred city, Jerusalem.
Tel Aviv became the temporary seat of government until the State of Israel moved it to Jerusalem in December 1949. Despite the shift in location, the U.S. Embassy was built in Tel Aviv in 1966. At the same time, believe it or not, the U.S. consulate has had a presence in West Jerusalem since 1844. Yes, you read that year correctly. (It is further interesting to note that other countries – like Britain and France – have their consulates in East Jerusalem.)
The new U.S. Embassy officially moved in 2018 under President Trump's direction on the site of the U.S. consulate. We are the first country to open an embassy in Jerusalem since before 1980, while 86 countries continue today to have their embassies in Tel Aviv.
The U.S. recognized Israel as a sovereign state in 1948, and it has promised to move its embassy there for more than 20 years. In 2018, President Trump fulfilled what three previous administrations promised to do but never did.
By doing so, the president fulfilled what Congress set out to do over two decades ago when a bilateral majority vote passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act, which formally recognized the sacred city as the country's capital and called for the U.S. Embassy to be moved there from Tel Aviv by 1999. Yes, 25 years ago was the deadline for Washington to move our embassy – just another broken promise from the swamp!
The Washington Post explained the 2-decade-old majority decision: "Support for the bill was overwhelming. Itpassed the Senate by a 93 to 5 vote, with four Republicans and one Democrat voting no. It passed the House 374 to 37, with 153 Democrats joining most of the new Republican majority that had swept into power in 1994."
What's crazy is this: Israel is the only country in the world not allowed to choose its own capital, at least in its enemies' eyes around the world. But one of Israel's Basic Laws, the 1980 Jerusalem Law, refers to Jerusalem as the country's undivided capital.
As a response, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution condemning Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem, declaring it a violation of international law. However, that hasn't ever stopped Israel from occupying and fighting for its capital, which is also why Netanyahu has always encouraged other countries to move their embassies to Jerusalem just as he did President Trump and our former presidents.
So, most Palestinian territory was granted back in 1948 by the United Nations, but Israel rejected those demarcation lines from the outset, ultimately winning back sovereignty over such areas as the West Bank, Golan Heights, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War.
It wasn't until the disastrous 1993 Oslo Accords, which culminated with President Clinton pushing for the awkward handshake between Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat, that things went from bad to worse.
The Oslo Accords granted limited autonomy to Palestine by further dividing territorial governance, but in the end the "peace treaty" did nothing but divide and escalate the tensions between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Israelis and others despised Rabin for yielding land they believed was divinely granted to them. Rabin was assassinated just two years later. And massive walls would eventually be erected and increased security measures taken everywhere to stop the steady stream of terrorism from areas governed by the Palestinian Authority or others like Hamas.
Critics often love to point out that the disputed area called the Golan Heights (also sometimes referred to as "The thumb of Israel," being only 44 miles north to south and 27 miles east to west, was captured by Israel from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War and annexed in 1981 in a move not recognized internationally. But what they fail in explaining is that it was technically a "recapture," at least from Israel's point of view, because the land had been theirs in history past going back to Old Testament times.
As Briticanna.com documents from the earliest point of Hebrew history: "The area's name is from the biblical city of refuge Golan inBashan (Deuteronomy 4:43; Joshua 20:8)."
Wikipedia even elaborated: "According to the Bible, an Amorite Kingdom in Bashan was conquered by Israelites during the reign of King Og. Throughout the Old Testament period, the Golan was 'the focus of a power struggle between the Kings of Israel and the Aramaeans who were based near modern-day Damascus.' The Itureans, an Arab or Aramaic people, settled there in the second century B.C. and remained until the end of the Byzantine period. Organized Jewish settlement in the region came to an end in 636 when it was conquered by Arabs under Umar ibn al-Khattāb. In the 16th century, the Golan was conquered by the Ottoman Empire and was part of the Vilayet of Damascus until it was transferred to French control in 1918. When the mandate terminated in 1946, it became part of the newly independent Syrian Republic."
With the recent fall of the Assad regime, Syrian control of any aspect of the Golan Heights at this point only complicates the issue and compounds the problem, especially with so much instability and so many international powers at work and war in and outside that war-torn country.
Trump tweeted during his first term as president, "After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel's Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!"
So, how does President Trump hope to engage his art of the deal and heal the Israeli-Palestinian divide?
The Times of Israel reported, "U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he would use the momentum of the freshly agreed upon Gaza ceasefire deal to expand the Abraham Accords, the U.S.-backed agreements struck during his first term that normalized Israel's relations with several Arab countries."
"With this deal in place, my National Security team, through the efforts of Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will continue to work closely with Israel and our Allies to make sure Gaza NEVER again becomes a terrorist safe haven," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
"We will continue promoting PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH throughout the region, as we build upon the momentum of this ceasefire to further expand the Historic Abraham Accords," he added, referring to the agreements that normalized Israel's ties with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco.
Historically, the U.S. has been Israel's strongest ally outside the Middle East, and Israel has been the strongest ally of the U.S. in the Middle East. And it needs to stay that way.
One thing I know for sure is that we all can make a powerful contribution toward achieving peace – it's something my wife, Gena, and I often come back to when we see the mess in the Middle East: Follow what the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) commands: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you.'" (Psalm 122:6)

Beautiful little babies born without arms, or without legs, or suffering other extreme deformities. I still remember, as a young boy, paging through the latest issue of Life magazine and seeing all these shocking and heart-breaking photos. An estimated 10,000 children had been born with such severe deformities in a short period of time, most of them in Europe, though a small number in the U.S.
Introduced as a sedative to help pregnant women with morning sickness, anxiety or sleeplessness, thalidomide has long been regarded as the cause of one of the greatest medical scandals in world history.
That was 1962. Two years later, in 1964, the surgeon general of the United States revealed with maximum publicity that smoking tobacco – at the time widespread, heavily advertised and glorified throughout the culture – causes cancer. Oops.
Fast forward to today, in a time of much greater scientific and medical knowledge, experience and supposedly far stricter drug-testing requirements … and everything is worse.
How can that possibly be?
A brief overview of Americans' alarmingly declining health demonstrates conclusively that "Make America Healthy Again," the new Trump administration agenda inspired and led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., couldn't be more vital – indeed, crucial. Consider:
* The U.S. is in the grip of a full-blown obesity epidemic, with well over 200 million Americans – including millions of children – being overweight or obese. According to the CDC, over 40% of adults in the United States are clinically obese – a serious medical condition – in stark contrast with the 1950s, when approximately 10% of U.S. adults were obese.
* The number of American children and adults with autism spectrum disorders has exploded, rising by 175% over just the last decade. One out of every 36 children in the U.S. has been diagnosed with autism, up from 1 in 44 as recently as 2021. In contrast, during the 1950s, autism was virtually nonexistent, afflicting between 0.01% and 0.05% of Americans born during that decade.
* Early-onset cancer cases rose almost 80% over the last three decades and show no signs of slowing down. One major 2022 study reveals the incidence of early-onset cancers – including breast, colon, esophagus, kidney, liver and pancreas – has been dramatically increasing since around 1990.
* A staggering 38 million Americans are suffering from diabetes, a number expected to increase to almost 55 million in the next five years. During the late 1950s, the prevalence of diabetes in the U.S. was estimated to be 9 cases per 1,000 people, for a total of 1 million cases.
What's going on? Why is the health of Americans degrading so radically? With the rapid growth of knowledge and technology, including medical technology, one might expect the exact opposite to be the case – that everyone's health would be ever improving.
Yet Americans are becoming less and less healthy, including, tragically, the nation's children. Statistics vary, but as many as half of America's children are dealing with some sort of chronic health issue, up from less than 1% five decades ago.
Obviously, with Americans' health in crisis, the goal to "Make America Healthy Again" is welcome and necessary. But there's one major obstacle to achieving this goal that needs to be addressed up front.
They all lied
As deadly and traumatizing as the COVID-19 pandemic was, it did bring about a mass awakening in at least one important area: Americans discovered they absolutely could not trust the government agencies tasked with safeguarding their health. From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to the Food and Drug Administration, to the National Institutes of Health and other branches of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, they all lied to Americans, either explicitly or by willful suppression of the truth.
Most visible, of course – and setting the standard for all other government bureaucrats – was Dr. Anthony Fauci, longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, under the NIH. Fauci acted the part of the kindly, grandfatherly presidential adviser on all things COVID. Unfortunately, he turned out to be a classic sociopath, smiling while lying about virtually everything – from mask-wearing (he initially admitted the truth, that masks are ineffective, only later doing a full 180 and insisting on universal masking, even outdoors!) to imposing the "six-foot rule" (later admitting this arbitrary rule was based on exactly zero science), to perversely denying that natural immunity provided ideal protection against COVID-19 just as it does for other viruses – a pivotal and unconscionable lie that flung open the doors to ruthless vaccine mandates.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared in Washington for a Senate hearing on his confirmation to be President Donald Trump's Health and Human Services secretary and came face-to-face with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who went bonkers over onesies being sold to parents for their infants.
It's because the clothing items, sold by an organization that Kennedy no longer has an affiliation with, express vaccine-skeptical messages.
One message stated, "Unvaxxed. Unafraid," while the other indicated: "No Vax, No Problem."
Sanders was described as going "unhinged" and demanding whether Kennedy was going to do something about the sales of the clothing by the outside organization.
"Are you supportive of these onesies?" Sanders demanded, over and over.
Kennedy, long known as a vaccine skeptic, has confirmed multiple times that there are good results from some vaccines, but that all vaccines carry with them the possibility of affecting different people in different ways.
Also in the hearing:
Kennedy dismantled claims from Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., who brought up excerpted comments from Kennedy about his opinion on vaccines.
Kennedy schooled and scolded Wyden:
"Senator, as you know, because it's been repeatedly debunked that statement I made on the Lex Fridman Podcast was a fragment of the statement," Kennedy charged. "He asked me and anyone who goes back and looks at this podcast will see this. He asked me whether there were vaccines that were safe and effective and I said to him some of the live virus vaccines are. And I said there were no vaccines that were safe and effective for every person. Every medicine has people that are sensitive to them, including vaccines. He interrupted me at that point. I've corrected it MANY TIMES, including on national TV. You know about this, Senator Wyden, so bringing this up right now is dishonest."
The Gateway Pundit commented, "The early award for most unhinged lunatic questioner goes to Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) who set out from the beginning to conduct a massive character assassination on RFK Jr.. But the man at the forefront of Making America Healthy Again (along with President Trump) was more than ready and blew up his lies."
Also, Kennedy called out Democrats and ripped them for burning money.
"I would ask any of the Democrats who were chuckling just now, do you think all that money, the $900 billion that we're sending to Medicaid every year, has made Americans healthy? Do we think it's working for anybody?"
Kennedy also pointed out the failings of the Obamacare plan, the Affordable Care Act, with concerns about its inefficacy and fiscal wastefulness.
"Americans, by and large, do not like the Affordable Care Act. People are on it, they don't like Medicaid, they like Medicare, and they like private insurance," suggesting a huge overhaul is in order.
He explained the president has asked him to work on the chronic disease epidemic in America, and that's his goal.

The White House has begun spotlighting some of the criminal illegal aliens who already have been arrested under President Donald Trump's border security agenda.
That includes not just securing the border but also arresting and deporting those who broke the law to enter the U.S. illegally, and especially those who also are criminals.
Among those taken off the streets is Edgar De La Cruz-Manzo, a convicted child rapist.
And an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador wanted for aggravated homicide. And another wanted for aggravated homicide.
And a Honduran national found with cocaine, fentanyl and a firearm. And a murder suspect wanted by INTERPOL.
Others included those who were convicted of sexual abuse, kidnapping, assault, manslaughter, and much more.
A report from a CBS affiliate in Colorado confirmed that agents raided a "makeshift nightclub" near Denver over the weekend and captured almost 50 people, many who reportedly are affiliated with the violent Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela, whose members have been disrupting the local economy by simply moving in and taking over various apartment buildings, collecting rent from the residents who previously had been paying the building owners.
The report said, "TdA gang activity is partly to blame for unsafe conditions at several apartment buildings in Aurora. City officials there announced last week their intent to seek closure of the five remaining buildings in the Edge of Lowry complex at Dallas Street and East 12th Avenue. Residents have already been asked to vacate a sixth building in which a migrant couple was taken captive and beaten by alleged gang members late last year."
Previously police there said 19 people were arrested after an investigation, including 16 who are part of the gang.
Fox News reported that on Sunday alone, the Trump campaign to remove illegal aliens, especially criminals, from the United States took into custody nearly 1,000.
The report said a Nicaraguan national was arrested in Florida for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon, discharging a firearm in public and driving with a suspended license; a Jamaican was arrested for possession of oxycodone and displaying a firearm during a felony offense, and more.
Hundreds of similar arrests have been made each day since President Donald Trump was inaugurated a week ago.
Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed those deportation numbers will be going up, and the security plan ramps up to full speed.
Over the weekend, an impasse developed in Trump's program when Colombian President Gustavo Petro refused two U.S. flights carrying deportees back to their homes there permission to land.
It was resolved within hours when Trump then announced a 25% tariff on Columbian goods, and that prompted Petro to back down.
"For Trump, the episode gave him a chance to show the rest of Latin America the risks they face if they do not fall in line with his deportation plan," a report said.
A commentary at Twitchy explained, "During his administration, Joe Biden defended his open border policies by calling all those who streamed into the country on his watch (along with 'border czar' Kamala Harris and DHS Secretary Mayorkas) 'model citizens.'"
While demanding that Congress support his open-borders agenda, Biden had said, "We are a nation of immigrants and we shouldn't forget it. … Give me a break. These have been model citizens. Congress has to act."

A new lawsuit is challenging the blatantly racist practices of the state in Gov. Tim Walz's Minnesota.
It is from the Pacific Legal Foundation and is on behalf of Do No Harm, an association of medical professionals.
They are contesting the "racial quotas" that are imposed by the state on its Health Equity Advisory and Leadership Council.
"Public advisory boards for government agencies are common and typically help state agencies make informed decisions in implementing public policies and priorities. HEAL is no different, but there is an exception: its racial criteria," the foundation reported.
"Racial quotas deny public service opportunities to qualified professionals based solely on their race," explained Wilson Freeman, a foundation lawyer. "That's racial discrimination and it's a clear violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution."
The report said there's no shortage of qualified Minnesotans for the board.
But the state insists "HEAL membership must include representation from specific racial groups, including African American and African heritage communities, Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, Latina/o/x communities, and American Indian communities and tribal governments," the report said.
Stanley Goldfarb, Do No Harm chief, said, "Patient care should never be sacrificed on the altar of identity politics, and state medical councils cannot properly safeguard public health when membership is based on the color of their skin over their medical expertise. This blatant racial discrimination is demeaning, patronizing, and unconstitutional. President Trump's recent DEI executive order should motivate public officials to eliminate this type of racism."
The case was filed in federal court in Minnesota in the case Do No Harm v. Cunningham.
