It's common knowledge the FBI interfered in the 2020 presidential election by making claims, while knowing they were false, that the Biden family scandals exposed in Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop were Russian disinformation.
A subsequent survey showed that had the FBI not told legacy media outlets to suppress the truth, and had more voters known the Biden details, enough would have withheld their support that he would have lost the election.
Now the 2024 vote is just weeks away, and the FBI stands accused, again, of interfering.
This time by leaking classified information to the Washington Post about an "investigation" into President Donald Trump.
Only the situation developed years ago and it already was decided back then that there wasn't enough evidence to go on.
So why are the details coming out now?
The Gateway Pundit has an explanation, that comes from Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Ron Johnson, R-Wis.
They explain in a letter to Joe Biden's attorney general, Merrick Garland, and FBI chief Christopher Wray, that the "Biden Regime" appears to be "illegally leaking classified information to the Washington Post in order to interfere in the 2024 election."
"This appears to be yet another example of the Justice Department and FBI leaking material and information to the media while stiff-arming congressional requests for the same type of information. More than that, it also appears the Biden-Harris Justice Department and FBI intentionally leaked this information, to include potentially classified information, to the media roughly 90 days before the 2024 presidential election," they wrote.
The report explains the investigation dates to 2017 when "classified intelligence" suggested, without evidence, that Egypt's Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was donating $10 million to Trump's campaign.
"In early 2019, federal investigators learned about a significant cash withdrawal from the National Bank of Egypt on January 15, 2017, just five days before Trump became president. The withdrawal involved an organization called the Research and Studies Center requesting $9,998,000 in cash. Bank employees assembled the money in $100 bills, placed it in two large bags, and four men later collected it. The investigation began during Trump's presidency and involved Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller's team investigated Trump, including a secretive court battle to obtain records from the Egyptian bank, and concluded there wasn't enough evidence to pursue charges."
In short, there wasn't enough evidence … for anything, the report said.
So why, after it was closed for years, are allegations now being publicized?
The senators accuse the FBI of trying to interfere with this year's vote.
It appears, the senators said, "the Biden-Harris Justice Department and FBI intentionally leaked this information, to include potentially classified information, to the media roughly 90 days before the 2024 presidential election."
"This ongoing election interference by your agencies is another reason why the American people continue to lose faith in the agencies your responsible for leading," they wrote.
They want to know if the leakers now are being investigated.

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — Gunshots erupted in the vicinity of Donald Trump on Sunday afternoon as the former president was golfing at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The president is safe.
"President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time," said Steven Cheung, communications director for the Trump campaign.
Donald Trump Jr. said on X: "Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
"An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement. The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming former President Trump is safe. A suspect has reportedly been apprehended."
The United States Secret Service confirmed the incident, noting it's working closely with authorities and investigating.
"The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The former president is safe," the agency confirmed on X.
"Secret Service agent opened fire at suspected person with weapon while Trump was golfing, AP sources say," Meg Kinnard of the Associated Press said on X.
"Biden, Harris were briefed on reported shooting near Trump's golf course and are 'relieved' he's safe, White House says," Kinnard added.
The White House acknowledged the incident, saying: "The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team."
Sean Hannity of Fox News, a resident of Palm Beach, says the shooting happened on the fifth hole of Trump's golf game, and an AK-47 weapon was recovered.
"Within seconds, the Secret Service pounced on the president and covered him," Hannity said.
"You had snipers with tripods. They knew the direction where the shots had been fired, and they had eyes on the location where the shots had been fired."
The suspect, whom media reports say is Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested in Martin County, located just north of Palm Beach County, and his demeanor was said to be "calm."

"A lot of senior military leaders today clearly have resolved themselves to be order-following automatons, denying and/or impinging upon constitutionally guaranteed rights of the individual service member simply because that is what gets them promoted."
This shocking assessment of the degree to which groupthink has taken hold of many current leaders in the U.S. military comes from retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Ryan Sweazey, founder of Walk the Talk Foundation, an organization that advocates for and protects whistleblowers. The former F-16 fighter pilot, who once served as inspector general in the Air Force, spoke to WorldNetDaily in an exclusive interview.
At the extreme, Sweazey said, the thought process of too many of today's U.S. military leaders forces one to recall what happened in Nazi Germany. "I'm not making parallels between today's military leadership and Nazis outside of the incredible amount of groupthink psychology that's going on," he told WND.
Groupthink, according to Psychology Today, can be defined as "a phenomenon that occurs when a group of well-intentioned people makes irrational or non-optimal decisions spurred by the urge to conform or the belief that dissent is impossible."
From Sweazey's perspective, as well as from his foundation's clients' perspectives, the continued abuses, denial of due process and lack of real justice systems in the military are highlights of this epidemic and are coming at a significant detriment to the force.
"A carrot was dangled in front of many, [providing] a path to become a senior officer and continue to progress their careers," Sweazey said. "It came in the form of something like implementing the controversial shot mandate or carrying out questionable implementations of divisive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies that many might not have wanted to accept, but they did it anyway to advance their careers."
"Others already assimilated into the groupthink circles of military leadership now infer or explicitly convey that the one thing that will result in you being culled from that leadership 'herd' is to go against the grain, to speak out of line, to not toe the party line," Sweazey told WND. "For these leaders, there's incredible pressure to maintain the groupthink mentality even if it goes against what you once believed in, or still believe in."
"The infiltration of questionable and/or illegal acts and policies into the ranks has become a more permanent fixture because no one is willing to speak out against it," Sweazey explained. "To speak out of turn, or speak out against a general officer or flag officer, is career suicide," he said. "As a result, nearly everyone is forced to toe the line, whether they believe what's happening around them is moral and just or not."
Unfortunately, adds Sweazey, there's a steep price to pay for this kind of unprincipled conformity to avoid trouble or for the sake of personal advancement.
"When no one resists, it tells me that the general officers and flag officers of today lack the moral courage to do anything else but remain in lockstep with everyone else," he argues. "This kind of groupthink is incredibly dangerous to the future of the military, and that's the parallel between our military and that of the German military of the 1930s and 1940s that cannot be ignored."
To save the nation's military and return it to a powerful fighting force, Sweazey argued, "Service members will need to be bold and be willing, at times, to accept uncomfortable risks to do what is right over what is clearly wrong."

In his latest damning report, Professor Javaid Rehman, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran, identified two major waves of massacres in the country as acts of genocide, in addition to the ongoing crimes against humanity. These genocides include the 1982 and 1988 massacres, orchestrated by Iran's religious dictatorship, which executed its enemies solely for their religious and ideological beliefs.
The Iranian regime viewed members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), its sworn enemies, as "enemies of God," apostates and hypocrites, while also labeling Marxists as apostates. Consequently, all members and sympathizers of these groups who remained steadfast in their beliefs – even if they had not participated in the war against the regime – were sentenced to death.
While the details of the 1982 genocide remain largely unknown to the public, the 1988 genocide, which involved the brutal massacre of 30,000 political prisoners – 90% of whom were members of the MEK resistance – has become a dark chapter in modern world history. This massacre, conducted in a few weeks during a scorching summer and in total silence, is now recognized as a crime against humanity. Even those directly involved, such as former President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19, 2024, have acknowledged and defended their roles in the atrocity.
Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian opposition, stands in stark defiance of the religious doctrines of Khomeini and Khamenei. As a Muslim woman, she has taken on a leadership role and is the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. She challenges not only the misogynistic tenets of the regime, but also its entire oppressive structure. Rajavi champions gender equality, the separation of religion from the state, and fights for an Iran free from executions and nuclear weapons, becoming a symbol of freedom for that nation. The courage and sacrifice of women during the 2022 uprising was inspired by her leadership and vision of Iranian women's emancipation.
One of the key issues Maryam Rajavi has confronted head-on is the regime's use of the death penalty. She launched a widespread campaign called "No to the Death Penalty" in Iran, aiming to galvanize international support. Iran holds the grim world record for both political executions and executions per capita. According to Amnesty International, 74% of the recorded executions worldwide in 2023 took place in Iran.
Rajavi asserts, "The God I worship is a God of kindness, mercy and forgiveness." For her, the death penalty defies the immense mercy and compassion that God extends to all his creations. She firmly believes that, in light of human progress, the death penalty is inexcusable in modern times.
In her book "The Roadmap to Democracy," Rajavi writes: "Our motivation to resist until victory is not hatred or revenge. Our motivation is love for freedom and humanity. This is the philosophy behind our perseverance."
The religious dictatorship's use of executions "in the name of God" began with the execution of Kurds immediately after the 1979 revolution. These acts continued with the 1982 genocide, during which hundreds of children and young people were executed daily, culminating in the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988. These medieval-style executions, such as the recent execution of 29 individuals on the day now called Bloody Wednesday, August 7, 2024, persist to this day.
Although hatred and resentment dominate Iran's current Shiite religious dictatorship, for Maryam Rajavi, who rejects fundamentalist, radical and jihadist Islam, the Moslem faith she embraces is "a religion of hope and mercy, emancipation, freedom, love, friendship, peace, progress and tolerance. It is a religion that embodies all the beauties of the earth and the true depths of human values."

Haitian migrants have made headlines lately over a spate of incidents that focused a spotlight on Ohio, after it has been inundated by aliens.
Tim Boggs, a business owner and resident of Columbus, told WND that there are so many migrants moving into the area, he is unable to hire people who can only speak English.
"I run a business managing cell-phone stores and at some of my stores I can't hire English-only speakers because they wouldn't be able to service our customers. At one popular store of mine I have to have a Creole (Haitian) working at all times because of all of the Haitians we have that shop there. At others I can only have Spanish speakers working because if the customers come in and see native 'white' people working they'll turn around and leave before attempting to buy anything," Boggs said.
Boggs indicated he is currently trying to help Cuban Christians who are being persecuted by the Cuban regime migrate to the U.S. legally. This includes filing all the necessary paperwork through the proper federal channels, and paying thousands of dollars in fees.
"One of our good friends down there who is a pastor was thrown in prison in 2023 after attending a public rally against the government. He has been put in prison a couple times to my knowledge and is under constant watch by the government even though all he did was attend the rally. The main reason is because they've begun cracking down on Christians," Boggs said.
Furthermore, despite the applicants being college educated, able to speak English fluently, and having a sponsor who will provide work and shelter, Boggs noted immigration officials have yet to respond to the application in almost two years.
"A year and a half ago we had a local law firm file the appropriate paperwork through the proper federal channels to get them approval to move to Columbus and stay with us. That paperwork has not produced results since that time. We are sponsoring them with both housing and have given them money to buy tickets to fly here when/if they get approval, so they won't be a burden on society," Boggs said.
Boggs said one reason he thinks there may be a holdup with visa applications is the increasing distrust from U.S. lawmakers regarding Cuban immigrants. Florida Republican Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, along with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, voiced concerns around the expansion of non-immigrant visas to Cuban nationals, citing it poses a national security threat.
However, in June, the Biden administration extended temporary legal status to more than 300,000 Haitians living in the U.S. illegally, allowing them to stay and work. It wasn't long before reports of Haitian migrants causing car wrecks, and snatching up animals, including geese, cats, dogs, and other small pets, started flooding social media.
Meanwhile, the left-wing media has been attempting to spin the migrant crisis in Springfield, Ohio, into a positive.
ABC and CNN also "fact checked" the claim that there had been a surge in Haitian migrants, deeming it "not a problem" – while Ohio's Gov. Mike DeWine has earmarked $2.5 million to expand primary care access to everyone who lives in Springfield, and is sending in state troopers to get on top of the car wrecks being caused by unlicensed Haitian migrants.
In 2023, an unlicensed Haitian man behind the wheel of a minivan overturned a school bus in Springfield when he crashed into it, causing the death of 11-year old Aiden Clark.
In a bizarre speech on Sept. 10, Aiden's father recently said he wished a 60-year old "white man" had killed his son, rather than wishing Biden's broken border policies hadn't caused his son's death in the first place.
There have been many other instances of dangerous driving by Haitians.
Other reports have stated Haitians are practicing voodoo, which includes animal sacrifice, during religious ceremonies, giving some credence to rumors Haitian migrants have been snatching up pets.
One American originally from Haiti confirmed Haitians are, in fact, using animals in their voodoo and witchcraft ceremonies.

Google, and other tech behemoths, long have been thought to be in Kamala Harris' camp, advocating for her and for the leftist ideologies that she adopts and promotes, and imposing an anything-but-neutral agenda on users.
Now we know for sure. From the mouth of an insider:
Dakota Leazer, a Google company growth strategist, is on video explaining, "Google was essentially promoting through its ads rhetoric that was very pro-Kamala."
Appearing in an undercover video released by James O'Keefe, he says Google has been actively coordinating with the leftist campaign of Harris, who was picked by Democrat party elites to replace the aging and failing Joe Biden.
He said it has been manipulating its search engine advertisements to favor her in the 2024 election.
"It seemed to link out to legitimate news publication sites. So, it seemed like it was an ad from PBS, but it was really an ad for the Kamala campaign," he said, a deception that would make users "believe they were reading unbiased reports from reputable sources," the report from O'Keefe confirmed.
"Leazer also confesses that Google's primary objective is to generate ad revenue through fear-based content, explaining, 'I think whatever demographic is most fearful is going to be most profitable,'" the report said.
O'Keefe reports, "According to Leazer, the left currently represents the most fearful demographic, which is why Google has been pushing pro-Kamala narratives for profit, explaining, 'I think right now the left is more fearful than the right is.'"
O'Keefe revealed that shortly after the video was released, Leazer deleted his TikTok videos, "including the ones where he is seen wearing Google merchandise. He has also removed his bio and contact information. This follows his exposure on hidden camera, where he admitted Google has been coordinating with the Kamala Harris campaign and manipulating search engine ads to favor her in the 2024 election."
A report at the Gateway Pundit said the video from O'Keefe Media Group follows on reports that Harris was editing news headlines with Google search ads "to make it appear major news outlets such Reuters, CBS News, CNN, NPR and AP are on her side. While these major news outlets are shilling for Harris, her campaign edited the news headlines without the outlets' consent or knowledge."
The scenario was that the Harris campaign had been buying online ads and making up headlines and story descriptions, then using the names of established publications in the ads. The ads link to real news organizations, but those stories don't support the headlines being fabricated by the Harris campaign.
The Daily Caller reported it is WDAY Radio, a broadcaster based in Fargo, N.D., that was reviewing its options for legal action.
The report noted "the Kamala Harris campaign deceptively edited WDAY headlines to make it look like they supported her in an ad campaign."
Harris's campaign has taken advantage of the names of publishers including NPR, CNN, the Guardian, Independent, Reuters, AP and WDAY, the report said.
"We feel insulted and violated by what was done here," explained Steve Hallstrom, president of Flag Family Media, which owns WDAY, in an interview with the Daily Caller.
"You have a political campaign that used our news brand and our URL to effectively lie to people about the headline we wrote. They lied to every single person that saw that ad. It's misleading, it's dishonest, and it hurts us as the company, our news brand. So as of today, we're starting to make some calls here. We are considering all of our options here, including legal action," he said.

JERUSALEM – Overnight Sunday Israel Air Force jets conducted a series of airstrikes in northwestern Syria, targeting sites assessed to be used by Iranian or Iranian-backed forces, which were thought to produce chemical weapons.
According to Syrian state media, at least 14 people were killed in the strikes – thought to be some of the heaviest and widest-scale in years – with dozens more wounded. Reports suggest at least 10 sites were hit in Masyaf, in the Hama region. There were additional claims that there were attacks in Hama, Homs, Tartus, and Damascus, although later transpired impacts in the latter three locations were caused by falling Syrian interceptor missiles.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a U.K.-based war monitor aligned with the Syrian opposition, said there were four attacks in less than three hours, targeting military sites west of Hama where "where Iranian militias and experts are stationed to develop weapons in Syria," and a floating object off the coast of Baniyas, according to the Jewish Chronicle.
Among the sites hit was the so-called Scientific Studies and Research Center, known as CERS or SSRC, a major military research laboratory for chemical weapons. The center is thought to house a team of Iranian military experts – in other words members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – who according to Israel are involved in the production of precision surface-to-surface missiles.
Even before the Swords of Iron war, which Hamas started with Iranian backing on Oct. 7, Israel has consistently targeted weapons shipments from Iran, as well as men and materiel in situ in Syria. The Islamic Republic has used its leverage over President Bashar al-Assad's government, which it helped remain in power during the bitter fighting of the Syrian Civil War, to help create its land bridge to move weapons and men closer to Israel.
Jerusalem has neither officially confirmed nor denied reports about IAF planes striking targets in Syria, although it rarely broadcasts when it has done so. However, in February Jerusalem revealed it had attacked more than 50 targets belonging to Hezbollah and other Iran-backed terrorist groups in Syria since Oct. 7.
Almost 17 years to the day, on Sept. 6, 2007, Israel conducted "Operation Orchard," which destroyed Syria's heretofore secret nuclear program in the Deir ez-Zor (or Dair Alzour according to the International Atomic Energy Agency) region of Syria. That attack followed the even more daring "Operation Opera," the 1981 attack on Saddam Hussein's nuclear reactor in Osirak, Iraq.
What it does show is a clear pattern of Israel following the so-called "Begin Doctrine," which stipulates that Israel would not tolerate the attainment of nuclear weapons by their implacable enemies and would do whatever possible to prevent this eventuality.
Shifting focus to the north?
These strikes come amid increasing calls – including from former IDF Chief of Staff and former Prime Minister Benny Gantz no less – for Israel to turn its attention with both urgency and seriousness to the northern arena. In particular the ongoing simmering war with Hezbollah shows no sign of abating, if anything it seems to be ratcheting up on a daily basis.
Israel's preemptive strike against hundreds of Hezbollah missile launchers in the early hours of Aug. 25 may have offset what was assumed to be a massive retaliatory attack for the killing of the Iranian proxy's CEO, Fuad Shukr, the threat still remains. And on the sidelines, Iran is still suggesting it is winning the psychological battle, boasting its response to the elimination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in an IRGC compound has yet to be avenged.

Managers of a seniors apartment complex decided to ban the word "Bible" in their community room announcements, which cover a wide range of topics of interest to residents.
And now they're getting questioned by a religious rights legal team at the American Center for Law and Justice.
The ACLJ has announced it has sent a demand letter to the complex in North Carolina over a decision by managers to violate the religious liberties of a resident.
The applicable law, the ACLJ revealed, is the Fair Housing Act.
"This is yet another in a series of attacks on Christian residents of senior apartment complexes. We continue to defend the rights of Christian residents to live out their faith free from censorship," the organization explained.
In this case, officials "banned our client from advertising his Bible study because the advertisement contained the word 'Bible' in it," the legal team noted.
"Our client leads a weekly Bible study with fellow residents in one of the complex's small conference rooms. Before June, our client was able to advertise his Bible study with no restrictions at all. Without notice or any indication that the advertisement violated any sort of policy, the complex removed his advertisement and replaced it with 'Spiritual Services.'
"When our client approached an employee of the complex, our client was told that the managing company does not allow 'Bible' to be included in the activities that appear in the calendar. Notably, however, nonreligious events freely appear on the apartment's calendar without any censorship," the ACLJ said.
The legal team's announcement said many senior living facilities mistakenly think they must refrain from association with, or mention of, faith.
"Contrary to this belief, the FHA prevents these facilities from treating religious activities differently from secular activities. Specifically, the FHA requires that residents be treated equally without regard to their particular religion. Even if the apartment complex was applying a neutral policy that had a discriminatory effect on a protected class, such as religion, federal courts have recognized that an FHA violation could still be established," the ACLJ reported.
The report said the center already has established that it lets residents advertise their events, and there is "nothing neutral about a policy that prevents advertisements with the word 'Bible' in them."
The legal team explains the conduct is "discriminatory and violates federal law" and it expects a response to its letter in just days.

President Donald Trump has moderated his pro-life position since eight years ago, when he was described as strongly pro-life. Of late, he's admitted the possibility for early abortions, within limits.
But he's been under criticism for changing his policy at all.
And that's not entirely fair, according one of the more prominent pro-life organizations in the country, Operation Rescue, run by chief Troy Newman, who long has been integral in America's fight against abortion.
It's because society has seen a drastic shift in recent years, largely prompted by the nonstop campaign from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on behalf of the members of the lucrative abortion industry.
In a statement, Newman said, "As the saying goes, 'politics is downstream from culture.' Unfortunately, 'woke' pro-abortion influencers have been dumping anti-life sewage into our society's 'river' for years. This has polluted our culture worse than Lake Erie in the 1960s and shifted politics away from the ideals championed by the first Trump administration that boldly promoted the sanctity of human life."
He pointed out that just before the 2016 vote, Gallup showed 46% of Americans identified as pro-life.
"That year pro-life Americans placed a high importance on ending abortion and were more likely to cast their votes only for candidates that shared their pro-life views. I believe this was due, at least in part, to the gruesome videos Operation Rescue released one year previous as part of my leadership in the Center for Medical Progress (for which I was convicted of RICO and now owe $18M to Planned Parenthood). In any case, President Trump rode that pro-life enthusiasm into the White House in 2016. By nearly all media reports, it was the support of pro-life Americans and their grave concerns over the pro-abortion majority in the Supreme Court that earned him the surprise victory," Newman wrote.
Then Trump kept his campaign promises, appointing Supreme Court justices who eventually overturned the faulty Roe v. Wade and also denied Title X tax money to abortion industry giant Planned Parenthood.
The 2020 election, long past, now gives way to 2024, when society is in a "completely different position" than 2016.
"Gallup Polls taken this year show that the pro-life position now sits at a historical low," he said, with only 12% of respondents wanting to end it.
"Since the demise of Roe, we have lost eight statewide referendums on abortion. Bolstered by these victories, pro-abortion forces have placed abortion expansion initiatives on the 2024 general election ballots in ten more states," Newman said. "The tide has turned, and the pro-life message is now considered a political liability that could prevent President Trump's victorious return to the White House."
He continued, "The radical extremist team of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz threatens to demolish the America we love by dramatically expanding abortion, increasing persecution of pro-life activists, and amping up censorship along with other oppressive measures such as open borders, higher taxes, and continuing involvement in forever wars. An America under a Harris/Walz administration would be a bloody, morally debased Communist dystopia with increased abortions, a wrecked economy, non-existent border security, possible nuclear war with Russia and fewer freedoms."
That's why a Trump victory is essential, he said, and while "still pro-life, Trump's current position on abortion, which is more moderate than many pro-life supporters would like, is simply a reflection of the will of the people."
He explained, "As a staunch supporter of President Trump and the right to life, it pains me to point this out. So, whose fault is it that we find ourselves in a climate where the pro-life position is no longer a winner at the ballot box, as it was for so many years?"
He said since Roe was created, five decades have passed and still the culture's love affair with abortion exists.
"Although the pro-life movement has been responsible for closing 70% of the abortion clinics, saving millions of children, and electing scores of pro-life politicians, the disappointing result is that the American population is more pro-abortion than ever," he said.
"We also must stop pointing fingers at politicians like President Trump, expecting them to meet ideals that are unreasonable in the current hostile political and social climate – a climate that our own ministries have failed to mitigate," he said.
He said seminaries and churches today, while describing themselves as Christian, advocate for the wanton destruction of the unborn.
"If we are to ever create a government that values and protects innocent life, we must start in our own homes, churches and communities. The purified water of our own lives and movement would then flow downward into proper public governance. For streams do not run backwards."

Associated Press this week posted a false report on a comment by GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance, and Democrats quickly grabbed it to use in their campaign, even though it was, in fact, deleted for being false.
The AP statement, later deleted, claimed JD Vance "says school shootings are a 'fact of life.'"
The reality is that Vance said, "I don't like that this is a fact of life."
The legacy wire service announced, when it released a new statement, that it "replaces an earlier post that was deleted to add context to the partial quote from Vance."
The correction was seen by thousands even though the original incorrect posting was seen by millions. And the correction wasn't used by Democrats, only the original.
"Kamala HQ" said, "JD Vance responds to the deadly shooting in Georgia by saying school shootings are just 'a fact of life' and attacking common sense gun safety reform."
"Kamala Harris" then reused it.
So did Gavin Newsom:
Vance called out Harris for the misleading statements:
A commentary at Twitchy said, "Shame on the Associated Press. Well, we'd shame them if they had shame. But they're incapable of it."
Then it posted an image of the deleted claim.
Social media concluded, "This is a really misleading headline and tweet. AP should really change it."
But, Twitchy explained, "It was intentionally misleading."
Another pointed out Vance's full statement was: "I don't like that this is a fact of life. But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools."
Townhall noted the false statement was seen by at least 2.2 million; the correction only 100,000.
The Harris campaign later put out a fuller statement, explaining, "Harris said 'it doesn't have to be this way' in response to another senseless school shooting. Donald Trump and JD Vance think school shootings are a 'fact of life' and 'we have to get over it.'"
The Daily Caller News Foundation said the Harris campaign "and some liberal media outlets pushed a false claim on Thursday night indicating that Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance referred to school shootings as a 'fact of life.'"
