Shortly after a sniper shot at President Trump, injuring him Saturday, the left's absolute and irrational hatred of President Donald Trump surfaced online.

It was in a statement attributed to a staff member for U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi.

A report at the Gateway Pundit explained Thompson, who is campaigning to try to remove Secret Service protection from President Trump, should the Democrats’ lawfare against him succeed in obtaining certain convictions and penalties, offered “crocodile tears on X” after the failed assassination attempt against Trump Saturday.

His "canned statement" included "thoughts and prayers."

But the report noted his field director, Jacqueline Marsaw, unleashed a comment on what appears to be an utter hatred of Trump.

Her comment appeared to express disappointment that the attacker, now dead, did not aim well enough.

"I don't condone violence, but please get you some shooting lessons so you don't miss next time. Oops, that wasn't me talking," her statement, quickly removed from online, said.

The attacker, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old Democrat donor, was shot and killed by law enforcement. One bystander was fatally shot during the violence.

Social media users blasted Thompson, who is noted for running ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's tainted and partisan Jan. 6 committee that orchestrated witnesses, evidence, and testimony to try to make the events of that day at the Capitol appear to be Trump's fault:

President Joe Biden, the Democratic Party, the national news media and many social-media “influencers” have, since 2016, continually likened Donald Trump to the single most reviled human being in history, Adolf Hitler. Are they thereby complicit in the July 13 assassination attempt on Donald Trump?

After all, the most moral and righteous response to the real Hitler was to try to kill him. There were, in fact, 16 known plots to assassinate Hitler, and every one of the participants – from revered German theologian Deitrich Bonhoeffer to “20 July plot” ringleader Col. Claus von Stauffenberg – are to this day universally considered patriots and heroes.

But Hitler was a raging psychopath who murdered 11 million people, while Trump is a successful, much-loved American president who murdered zero people. Comparing the two is therefore not only obviously insane, it’s also straight-up evil – because it implicitly encourages unstable, confused and rage-filled people to consider assassinating Donald Trump.

Yes, Biden released a written statement condemning the assassination attempt, and then briefly went on camera to say a few nice words. But this same Joe Biden, less than a week earlier, on July 7, said: “We’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put >I>Trump in a bull's-eye.

Biden recently demonstrated once again just how wedded he is to the Trump-is-Hitler-so-vote-for-me-even-though-I’m-demented narrative. Even though leftwing factcheck site Snopes had just issued a belated but high-profile debunking of the infamous "Charlottesville lie" – that Trump had paid tribute to “very fine” Nazis after a 2017 Virginia rally – Biden just couldn’t resist telling the Big Lie one more time during his ill-fated CNN debate with Trump.

A picture says a thousand words, and this amazing photo may say even more as it captured a bullet in mid-air streaking by the head of former President Donald Trump during Saturday's assassination attempt at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The image was snapped by Doug Mills, a well-known photographer for the New York Times.

The bullet can be seen flying above Trump's shoulder to the right go his head as the president turned to the side momentarily.

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich told Sean Hannity of Fox News it was “providential” that Trump turned his head just before the shot, noting Trump “has been vilified by Joe Biden and the Democrats in the left wing more than any president since Abraham Lincoln.”

Mills kept clicking the shutter on his camera and caught the sequence of events as Trump was shot.

The FBI identified the gunman, who was killed by a sniper, as 20-year-old Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, saying:

"The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the subject involved in the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13, in Butler, Pennsylvania. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is encouraged to submit photos or videos online at FBI.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI."

The attempted assassination happened in Butler, Pennsylvania, where President Donald Trump was holding a campaign rally, at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Here's a timeline (all times Eastern):

6:02 p.m. Trump enters the stage, to the music of "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood. He waved.

6:05 p.m. The song is over and Trump is at the microphone to speak.

About 6:10 p.m. Rally attendees notice a man climbing to the top of a roof. Policeman climbs the roof, but retreats when the gunman points his rifle at him.

6:11 p.m. Multiple shots are fired, Trump grabs his ear, and that drops to the ground as a voice is heard saying "Shots, shots, shots."

6:12 p.m. Trump is covered by Secret Service agents who, after making sure he was no longer in the line of fire, took him off stage and into a vehicle. Trump gives fans a thumbs-up.

6:14 p.m. Law enforcement vehicles lead Trump's limousine, and the rest of his motorcade, away from the rally grounds.

Shortly after the shots, Trump fist-pumps to his crowd, and appears to repeatedly mouth the word "fight."

6:42 p.m. It was an "incident," the Secret Service claimed, which confirmed Trump is safe. Within minutes Trump's campaign echoed that saying Trump was "fine."

7:24 p.m. Authorities confirm there are victims.

7:49 p.m. "Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi of the Secret Service says agents neutralized the attacker and he was dead. Also announced was the fact one rally participate was killed.

8:13 p.m. Joe Biden says he's trying to call Trump.

8:42 p.m. Trump confirmed on Truth Social the facts: "It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

9:33 p.m. FBI office in Pittsburgh says it is investigating.

9:37 p.m. Trump praises his own team.

11:53 p.m. FBI spokesman Kevin Rojek called the shooting an assassination attempt.

Dan Bongino, a former U.S. Secret Service agent and present-day talk-show host, is calling Saturday’s failure of the federal agency to protect former Donald Trump “absolutely catastrophic,” and says Kim Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service, should resign today.

Appearing on "Fox & Friends" Sunday morning, Bongino also said there's only "one entity" that rescued Trump from a certain assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, and that's Trump himself.

"There's only one entity out there that saved Donald Trump's life yesterday and it pains me to tell you guys this, you know who that is? It's Donald Trump," Bongino explained.

"If he moves his head an inch to the left or right, guys, this is a really different show today. I mean, this is – it's bad enough we have to do this show about this topic. Can you imagine what would have happened if Donald Trump did not duck?

"Looking at the stage there, I'm speculating but I'm pretty sure based experience that the bunting around the front of the stage is probably armor. Donald Trump knew to duck. Most people would. He saved his own life. That's just a fact.

"The evacuation did not go right. I mean the rule of the secret service is cover the protected and evacuate. The other rule is maximum to the protectee, minimum to the problem. Why minimum t the problem? Because you don't know that's the only problem. It could be a distraction. There could be another person in the crowd. If the you don't jump on the protectee, you could be looking at multiple shooters. So at least that part the guys stepped up there.

"But the failure here is absolutely catastrophic and I've got to tell you, the secret service should be very careful. I can tell you and absolutely confirm from the horse's mouth, from multiple people, not just one, and I saw congresswoman Waltz text this out before on X, there have been repeated requests to increase the security footprint around not just the residences of Donald Trump but the body itself and they have been rebuffed. There's ample evidence that the U.S. Secret Service failed in multiple ways – to allow a sniper to unleash a barrage of shots at President Donald Trump on Saturday – one of which apparently nicked his ear, and an expert on that topic, former agent Dan Bongino, credits Trump himself with saving his own life.

"If he moves his head an inch to the left or right, guys, this is a really different show today. I mean, this is – it's bad enough we have to do this show about this topic. Can you imagine what would have happened if Donald Trump had not ducked?" he said.

"There's only one entity out there that saved Donald Trump's life yesterday and it pains me to tell you guys this, you know who that is? It's Donald Trump," Bongino explained.

Trump himself, moved quickly to social media on the issue, but his opinion differed slightly.

"It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening," Trump said on the Truth Social social media platform.

Franklin Graham, chief of the worldwide Christian ministry Samaritan's Purse, pointed to the statement.

"Former President Donald J. Trump released a very powerful statement on his Truth Social this morning. He is an amazing man, and he credits GOD ALONE for saving his life," Graham wrote.

Joe Biden is under attack from all sides these days, including many Democrats.

It's because of his declining mental abilities, and the fact those factors have been on public display in recent days, with the disastrous presidential debate performance and his news conference blunders where he said GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump was his "vice president."

He also misidentified the president of Ukraine as president "Putin."

Other factors have appeared, too, and even Democrats now, at least some of them, are trying to push Biden off the Democrat party ticket.

Slow down, warns President Trump.

In a Truth Social media statement, he offered Biden, "He shouldn't allow complete losers like George Clooney, under the total auspices and control of Barack Hussein Obama, to push him out of office. That must be his decision, and his decision alone. Good luck Joe!"

Trump, who is leading Biden in most polls assessing the November presidential election, explained, "They're blaming all of Crooked Joe Biden's problems on me, including his really bad performance in the Debate. Some say that I was not respectful of him, and he just plain 'choked.' Actually, I tried being as nice as possible considering that this is the man who has systematically destroyed our Country, and the man who has WEAPONIZED his Justice Department, doing everything possible to put his Political Opponent, me, in jail. Why should I be 'nice' to him?"

"During former President Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on the evening of July 13th at approximately 6:15 p.m., a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.

US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated.

The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of investigation.

A settlement of $140,000 has been obtained for a Jewish professor whose work at the University of Maryland, College Park, was destroyed by school officials just when she had started becoming vocal about her Jewish faith.

It is the American Center for Law and Justice that explained the positive outcome for Melissa Landa, who eventually was dismissed by the school.

The case was over the destruction of her career at the school, where she had taught with honors for 10 years.

She got her start there as a graduate assistant in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She was promoted to a full-time faculty position after just two years, in 2007, the report said.

"During her career at UMD, Dr. Landa received several awards, including the College of Education's Excellence in Teaching Award and the College of Education's Exceptional Scholarship Award. She also received a letter of commendation for her contributions to the Education Abroad Program from UMD's Associate Vice President for International Affairs. Dr. Landa was an excellent, competent, and beloved teacher who always got high reviews," the ACLJ said.

And she became an affiliate professor at the University of Haifa, a representation of solidarity with Israeli scholars who were being shunned by academics in their boycotts of Israel.

And, the report said, she was then involved in the Academic Engagement Network, an organization of American college and university faculty who oppose the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement – an international campaign that denies the Jewish people their right to national self-determination in their ancestral homeland, Israel."

She then was told not to display at Israeli flag in her office, her job responsibilities were reduced and she was taken off a course she had helped develop.

Her complaints about religious discrimination brought no response, until the ACLJ took the fight into the courts, the report said.

Property owners in Tennessee have locked in a victory in a trespassing fight with a state agency when officials failed to appeal a state court ruling against them.

Officials from the Institute for Justice confirmed the final victory this week.

The fight erupted years ago when Rainwaters and Hunter Hollingsworth both found hidden cameras on their properties. They had been placed there by operatives for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency who trespassed to do that.

The landowners sued the agency, and won in court.

The IJ explained "Tennessee, along with six other states, has rejected the century-old federal 'open fields' doctrine. This was the first such suit from the Institute for Justice, which defends property rights nationwide and is now litigating against open fields doctrines in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Louisiana."

Just weeks ago, a unanimous Court of Appeals ruling found that warrantless searches of private land that is put to "actual use" violate the Tennessee Constitution.

Judge Jeffrey Usman wrote, "TWRA's contention is a disturbing assertion of power on behalf of the government that stands contrary to the foundations of the search protections against arbitrary governmental intrusions in the American legal tradition…"

"Finding out you were under illegal surveillance on your private property for months is a hard pill to swallow," said Hollingworth. "Thanks to the countless hours of work from Jack Leonard, Josh Windham, and the Institute for Justice, Tennesseans don't have to swallow that pill anymore!"

The state agency claimed authority to trespass onto private property under the old "open fields" ideology. It was in 1924 the Supreme Court said the 4th Amendment doesn't protect land beyond a home and its immediate surroundings.
