President Donald Trump's advocacy for secure American borders, deportation of illegal alien criminals, and support for American citizens was taken to a new level on Wednesday.
The Department of Justice, under Attorney General Pam Bondi, sued New York Attorney General Letitia James, Gov. Kathy Hochul, and Mark Schroeder, the state's chief of its division of motor vehicles.
At issue is the state's support for illegal aliens, to the point they are given privileges American citizens are not.
Bondi confirmed, "We're here today because we have filed charges against the state of New York. We have filed charges against Kathy Hochul, we have filed charges against Letitia James, and Mark Schroeder, who is with DMV."
She said, "This is a new DOJ, and we are taking steps to protect Americans, American citizens, and angel moms, like the mom standing right behind me … ."
She charged, "New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today."
The announcement came in Bondi's first press conference as U.S. attorney general.
The state and its officials are facing accusations in the legal filing that they have failed to enforce federal immigration law.
The action takes aim at a "green light law" that lets people who are in the United States illegally get driver's licenses in the state.
Bondi also charged that New York officials have limited their state's ability to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
The DOJ only days earlier had sued Illinois over its enforcement of federal immigration law.
"We did it to Illinois. Strike one. Strike two is New York, and if you're a state not complying with federal law? You're next," Bondi said.

Kristi Noem, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, has confirmed the return to the federal government of $59 million that workers at the Federal Emergency Management Agency has dispatched to New York City for the benefit of illegal aliens it is housing.
The decision to send the money violated President Donald Trump's orders against fraud and misspending by the federal bureaucracy and four workers at FEMA were fired for their actions.
Fox News reports DHS has confirmed it has "taken back" the money.
"Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels," a DHS official said.
The $59 million was identified earlier this week by the Department of Government Efficiency, which said the money was improperly sent for payments to luxury hotels for illegal aliens who have flooded into the sanctuary city.
DHS said the workers who issued the "egregious" payment were fired for "for circumventing leadership." They included the organization's chief financial officer, two analysts and a grant operator.
City Comptroller Brad Lander responded with a demand that the money be sent again.
"I call on the mayor to immediately pursue legal action to ensure the tens of millions of dollars stolen by Trump and DOGE are rightfully returned. If instead Mayor Adams continues to be President Trump's pawn, my Office will request to work in partnership with the New York City Law Department to pursue aggressive legal action," he claimed.
Mayor Eric Adams said he's asked for an emergency meeting with FEMA.
FEMA works with Customs and Border Control to dispense money to the Shelter and Services Program, which provides housing and other benefits for illegal aliens released into the United States.
This was an exploding program under Joe Biden's administration, which allowed millions of illegal aliens to cross into America under his open borders agenda.
As part of that, his administration reportedly lost track of hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied children., too.
President Trump already has instituted a number of program changes to crack down on illegal immigration, and to round up known criminal illegal aliens and deport them.
"These funds have been misappropriated going back to the Biden administration and New York City – a sanctuary city – has been wasting billions of dollars of taxpayer money to provide free housing, clothing, food, education and healthcare to illegal immigrants, including criminal aliens that are here illegally," charged, Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y.
"That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals," Elon Musk, who heads Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, said. "A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds."

President Donald Trump, in a Truth Social statement, has blasted to pieces the Joe Biden practice of giving massive billions of dollars to Ukraine to pursue its half of the war with Russia, by announcing he's discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin ending the conflict.
And the negotiations, in essence, are to begin immediately.
Trump had campaigned on the promise of ending the violent and costly war between Russian and Ukraine. Joe Biden had authorized sending some $66 billion to Ukraine, more than one-third of what the entire world had offered Ukraine.
Trump announced he discussed the war with Putin and they agreed to "work together, very closely" to end the fight.
Trump said he immediately would talk with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the progress.
Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's special Russia-Ukraine envoy, retired Gen. Keith Kellogg, are to meet later this week at a conference where Zelenskyy also will attend.
Trump's comments came only moments after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a NATO conference that some of Ukraine's aspirations, including NATO membership, simply are not realistic.
And he said American funding is dropping, meaning security guarantees for Ukraine will have to be funded by European countries.
Trump's statement said, "Just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects. We both reflected on the Great History of our Nations, and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we, likewise, lost so many!
"We each talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together. But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine.
"President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of, "COMMON SENSE." We both believe very strongly in it. We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other's Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now."
Trump said Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will be working on the deal-making.
"I feel strongly, will be successful. Millions of people have died in a War that would not have happened if I were President, but it did happen, so it must end. No more lives should be lost! I want to thank President Putin for his time and effort with respect to this call, and for the release, yesterday, of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man that I personally greeted last night at the White House. I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon!"
CBS reported that Hegseth's earlier comments explained security guarantees are needed for Ukraine, but they "should not be provided through NATO membership, but must instead be backed by capable European and non-European troops."
Hegseth had explained that Ukraine's call for returning to its pre-2014 borders wasn't a likely outcome.

A member of the Democrats' contingent in Congress stunningly has openly voiced the party's demand for the censorship of American people.
That censorship reached a peak under the Joe Biden administration, when his staff members berated and bullied multiple online social media platforms into censoring ideas they disliked.
It perhaps culminated when the FBI got involved in election interference, demanding publications during the 2020 election suppress scandalous information about the Biden family's overseas influence peddling operations because it was Russian disinformation.
Only it wasn't. It was all accurate. And a survey suggested that alone changed the outcome of that presidential vote.
Now it is Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., who has gone public with her demands
"Look, lemme tell you something, I'll take a bit of umbrage here, I'll speak on behalf of my colleagues," she said. "I think I can say we are all willing to work with anyone who's serious about doing the work of censoring the American people and advancing progress. But they are not serious."
A report at BizPacReview explained how Pressley "proudly revealed the very core of the progressive agenda, in turn admitting to how far the left will go to maintain power."
Online commenters pointed out how Pressley clearly doesn't understand the Constitution she has sworn to uphold.
Another commenter said, "If they can't control speech, they can't control the country. With free speech their lies, gaslighting and propaganda is exposed. They're going to do everything to silence opposition. Any politician who advocates stomping on rights should automatically be removed from office."
"'Censoring the American people and advancing progress?' Don't you love it when the Dems tell you exactly who they are?" said another.
And, "Free speech is the enemy to the radical left."

A watchdog organization is demanding that the U.S. government, under the administration of President Donald Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency, defund a giant in the nation's abortion industry.
A report at Fox News explains the former administration, under Joe Biden, handed over $700 million in money collected from taxpayers to Planned Parenthood, during one reporting period.
Now a group organized by former Vice President Mike Pence is urging Elon Musk, head of DOGE, to cut off the "wasteful" spending to the abortion company.
"For the sake of the American people and generations yet unborn, the time has come for the United States to finally defund the largest abortion provider in America," Tim Chapman, president of Advancing American Freedom, told Musk in a letter.
The Government Accountability Office previously has reported that the abortion corporation routinely is given hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars though Health and Human Services grants and public health programs.
"Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates accounted for $148 million in HHS grants and $1.5 billion in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP payments, with regional organizations receiving an additional $108 million. Taxpayer dollars made up 34% of Planned Parenthood's funding, the letter stated, citing a 2022-2023 annual report by the Charlotte Lozier Institute," the report explained.
The letter praised the administration for working to eliminate waste and fraud, and said that the "opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood may be yours and President Trump's greatest moment."
Trump already has worked to remove support for abortion.
He has restored the Mexico City Policy which prohibits federal funding to international non-governmental organizations that perform or promote abortions. And he issued an executive order enforcing the 1980 Hyde Amendment to prevent federal funds from being used for elective abortions.

Elon Musk joined President Donald Trump in the Oval Office Tuesday to discuss "mind-blowing" amounts of fraud and abuse they're discovering through deep dives by DOGE, including people "150 years old" receiving Social Security.
"We had no idea we were going to find this much," Trump said. "We have already found billions of dollars of abuse, incompetence, and corruption."
"Could be close to a trillion dollars that we're gonna find."
Musk explained: "We do find it sort of rather odd that there are quite a few people in bureaucracy who have ostensibly a salary of a few hundred thousand dollars but somehow managed to accrue tens of millions of dollars in net worth while they are in that position, which is what happened at USAID.
"We are just curious as to where it came from. Maybe it was very good investing? In which case we should take their investment advice perhaps. But there seems to be mysteriously they get wealthy. We do not know why. Where does it come from?
"I think the reality is they are getting wealthy at taxpayers expense. That's the honest truth of it."
"It is mind-blowing," Musk continued. "We are really just talking about adding common sense controls that should be present that have not been present."
"If money is spent badly, if your taxpayer dollars are not spent in a sensible manner that is not OK. Your tax dollars need to be spent wisely on the things that matter to the people. These things, it is just common sense. It is not draconian or radical I think.
"It is really just saying let's look at these ventures and say is this actually in the best interest of the people? If it is let's approve it if not we should not think about it."
"There's crazy things," Musk explained. "Like just a cursory examination of Social Security, we've got people in there that are150 years old. Now do you know anybody who's 150? I don't. They should be in 'The Guinness Book of World Records.' They are missing out.
"So that is the case like I think they are probably dead is my guess. Or they should be very famous. One of the two. And then a whole bunch of Social Security payments where there is no identifying information? Why is there not identifying information?"
Musk also said terrorists have been funded by U.S. tax dollars.
"We are talking about terrorist organizations. We are talking about known fraudsters, known aspects of waste, no things that do not match any congressional appropriation."
Musk also said millions of dollars in fraudulent spending were discovered going to foreigners.
"If there's going to be fraud, it should at least go to Americans," he quipped.

As revealed in a recent report published by the Middle East Forum, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR – the supposedly moderate U.S.-based Muslim advocacy group whose leader openly praised Hamas for its Oct. 7, 2023 massacre of Israelis – has repeatedly worked to obstruct U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, encouraging noncitizens to defy immigration enforcement.
WorldNetDaily spoke to Anna Stanley, a research associate at the Middle East Forum, who authored "Islamists Obstruct Efforts to Deport Criminal Aliens." She pointed out that CAIR "distributes guidance on how to avoid compliance, advising individuals to stay silent and refuse to open their doors to immigration agents to stall or prevent deportation."
In addition, she said, CAIR actively campaigns against ICE operations and lobbies for policies that weaken enforcement efforts. A recent CAIR-Ohio "Community Alert" lays out a detailed strategy for evading ICE, instructing: "Do not allow entry and … refuse to answer questions," directly interfering with the agency's ability to carry out its legal mandate.
CAIR also claims that "ICE may use tricks, lies, or intimidation to gain entry," noted Stanley. "Because administrative immigration warrants do not give ICE the legal authority to enter private property without consent – unlike criminal warrants – agents sometimes rely on deceptive tactics to make arrests, a practice codified in ICE policy," she explained. "By promoting noncompliance with lawful enforcement," she argued, "CAIR actively undermines immigration law and impedes the work of federal authorities."
Disturbingly, revealed Stanley, "CAIR tailors its messaging toward the very individuals ICE prioritizes for enforcement, including those who are in the country illegally, have criminal convictions, face prior deportation orders, or are deemed national security threats." What's more, she said, "CAIR's use of the phrase 'noncitizens who have violated the terms of their immigration status' as a euphemism for illegal immigrants reflects its political stance on the issue, downplaying the legal reality of unlawful presence."
"By encouraging noncompliance among these groups," Stanley added, "CAIR risks shielding individuals who could pose a danger to the public and obstructing lawful immigration enforcement." Which begs the question, "Why should an organization that so openly advises against cooperation with U.S. law enforcement be allowed to operate without consequences?"
ICE's response, said Stanley, rightly highlights the dangerous consequences of efforts to obstruct immigration enforcement. "By spreading misinformation and actively encouraging noncompliance," she suggested, "CAIR is not just undermining the rule of law – it is jeopardizing public safety."
ICE's mission is clear: to enforce immigration laws and remove individuals who pose a risk, including criminals and national security threats. "When organizations like CAIR encourage defiance and spread misleading narratives," she warned, "they create unnecessary confrontations that endanger both law enforcement officers and the communities they serve."
For Stanley, "ICE officials are correct in warning that such actions can fuel hostility and even violence, making their already difficult job even more dangerous." Rather than hindering lawful enforcement, she said, groups that claim to support public safety should be working to uphold the law, not protect those who break it.
"Law enforcement should view CAIR's efforts as a direct attempt to obstruct federal immigration enforcement and weaken national security," she said. By advising noncitizens – many of whom are in the country illegally – to evade ICE, CAIR is not acting as a civil rights group, as it postures, but as an organization actively working against U.S. law enforcement, she explained. "This kind of interference not only undermines the rule of law, but also puts officers, communities, and even the individuals CAIR claims to protect at risk."
There should be clear policies in place that penalize organizations like CAIR that deliberately encourage noncompliance with federal law, she said. "No group should be allowed to operate with impunity while obstructing lawful enforcement efforts and shielding individuals who may pose security risks."
"Federal, state and local authorities must recognize the danger of allowing such actions to go unchecked and implement measures that hold these groups accountable for their role in undermining immigration enforcement," she added.
"CAIR's open defiance of immigration enforcement is not just a policy stance – it is a direct challenge to the authority of federal law," Stanley said. "No organization should be allowed to instruct individuals on how to evade deportation, especially when it involves criminals and potential national security threats."
If the U.S. is serious about upholding its immigration laws and protecting its citizens, she concluded, it must take action against groups that actively obstruct enforcement efforts: "Lawmakers and law enforcement agencies must ensure that organizations working against federal authorities face real consequences for their actions."

According to the Iranian resistance network inside Iran, Tehran is secretly accelerating the development of nuclear warheads for solid-fuel missiles with a range of over 3,000 km. These missiles are being manufactured at the Shahroud missile site, located in central Iran.
Disguised under the cover of a satellite launch program, the missile sites in Shahroud and Semnan are now in full coordination with the regime's nuclear militarization entity, the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, or SPND.
The SPND is particularly involved in designing nuclear warheads for Ghaem-100 solid-fuel missiles, which are equipped with mobile-launch platforms at the Shahroud site. It is also utilizing the liquid-fuel Simorgh missile, deployed in Semnan, for nuclear warhead development.
According to a confidential internal memo, revealed last week in Washington by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the regime is stalling for time by negotiating with European countries and even indirectly with the United States, aiming to maintain the current status quo long enough to complete its weapons program. This same document reveals the regime's concerns over the potential triggering of the "snapback mechanism" at the U.N. Security Council. The regime's plan is to drag out negotiations for another six months, after which the sunset clause in the U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231 would render it obsolete.
A regime of warmongering and chaos
The survival of the Iranian regime depends on war and chaos. Believing that this regime, even in a weakened state, could achieve peace and stability in the region would be naïve. Despite severe blows to its proxy forces and the loss of Syria – once a key stronghold of its expansionism – the senile Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has not abandoned support for the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Iraq, Hezbollah in Lebanon or the Houthis in Yemen. On Feb. 6, Khamenei hosted the head of Hamas' leadership council in Tehran. His rhetoric, claimed by Iran's ambassador to France as being about "a nonmilitary nuclear program," is nothing but a farce. As long as he has the means, Khamenei will continue his destabilizing actions.
Khamenei has repeatedly stated: "Young Syrians will liberate their country again." This is an illusion, but it exposes the regime's intent to sow chaos in the region. The brutal theocratic regime needs an external enemy to justify its grip on Iran and sustain its rule through war and repression.
In the past, Khamenei used to affirm: "If we do not fight in Syria, we will have to fight in Tehran and Isfahan." Today, after losing Syria, he has turned inward, erecting a defensive line against his own people by carrying out 1,000 executions in 2024. Domestic repression and military expansionism remain the two pillars of the regime's survival – pillars to which Khamenei clings desperately.
Revolt, resistance, and the regime's inevitable downfall
The mullahs' regime is surrounded on all sides: by resistance units and rebellious youth, by heroic women who refuse to submit despite brutal torture, and by a society on the brink of explosion. It is also facing internal conflicts, exacerbated by the collapse of its main regional stronghold, Syria, as well as mounting external tensions.
Amid its spiral of failures, the regime's rival factions have fiercely clashed over the issue of negotiations with the United States. The deputy intelligence minister of the regime has called negotiations "the deadliest poison." He further states that the Americans are telling them: "Either you retreat, or you are overthrown." Recently, Khamenei had the final say, declaring: "Negotiation is not wise, it is not intelligent, it is not honorable."
To compensate for its setbacks, the regime sees only one solution: to accelerate its nuclear program without restraint. Although its officials frequently cite Khamenei's fatwa supposedly forbidding nuclear weapons, they carefully avoid explaining why they are enriching uranium beyond 60% and constructing underground production sites.
Maryam Rajavi: The fall of the regime is certain
Meanwhile, Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian resistance, stated in a live televised message to 20,000 protesters gathered in Paris on Saturday, Feb. 8: "With or without negotiations, with or without a nuclear program, the uprising and the overthrow of the regime by the people and the organized resistance are inevitable."

President Donald Trump on Monday escalated the world's war against the terrorists of Hamas, who still are keeping hostages in their underground compounds, by calling for a noon Saturday deadline for them all to be released.
Sticking a fork in the Middle East routine of terrorists capturing innocent civilians and then releasing a few at a time as they make more and more demands, Trump said he wants all of the remaining hostages released or "all hell is going to break out."
Now, Fox News reports Trump's comments were followed by a strong endorsement from Israel's security cabinet.
The report explained, "The declaration comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his security cabinet Tuesday after Hamas announced it is delaying the next release of Israeli hostages."
Netanyahu said, in a statement, "The decision I passed in the Cabinet unanimously is this: If Hamas does not return our hostages by Saturday noon – the ceasefire will end, and the IDF will resume intense combat until Hamas is decisively defeated."
The latest version of the war between the Hamas terrorists and Israel has been going on since Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas invaded Israel and slaughtered, often in horrific fashion such as burning whole families alive, some 1,200 civilians. At the time the terrorists also took hundreds hostage.
Netanyahu said, "In light of Hamas' announcement of its decision to violate the agreement and not release our hostages, I instructed the IDF last night to amass forces inside and around the Gaza Strip. This operation is currently underway and will be completed as soon as possible."
He also said he welcomed Trump's "revolutionary vision" for Gaza, where Hamas has maintained control and a stronghold for years. Trump's plan is to remove most of the residents of Gaza so the parcel can be cleared of wreckage, then rebuilt.
Trump insists on the release by Hamas of "all" hostages, "not in drips and drabs."
Hamas just a day earlier had complained about Israel and said it would delay the next planned release of hostages. It accused Israel of violating a ceasefire as the reason.
Hamas officials also complained they were denied "relief supplies."
Under the agreement that had been put in place, Hamas has given up 21 hostages in exchange for more than 730 Palestinian prisoners who were convicted of crimes and jailed.
In what could be another significant advance on a less violent Middle East, Jordan's king met with Trump Tuesday promising to take 2,000 Palestinian children with medical issues. He also said he is meeting soon with Israel's Arab neighbors to discuss relocating Palestinians out of Gaza.
Jordan's Abdullah II told Trump, "I truly believe, with all the challenges that we have in the Middle East, that I finally see somebody that can take us across the finish line to bring stability, peace, and prosperity to all of us in the region."

Four workers at the Federal Emergency Management Agency are being fired for unilaterally sending a massive $59 million payment for hotels in New York City to house illegal aliens.
The "egregious payment" came about after they decided to go about "circumventing leadership" on the issue of payments of federal monies to sanctuary cities.
Fox News reported the firings come after Elon Musk explained on social media, "The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants."
The report explained the FEMA works with Customs and Border Control to dispense money to the Shelter and Services Program, which provides housing and other benefits for illegal aliens released into the United States.

President Trump already has instituted a number of program changes to crack down on illegal immigration, and to round up known criminal illegal aliens and deport them.
City officials in New York admitted to Fox the city had gotten the money that had been designated by Biden for housing.
"Of the $59.3 million, $19 million was for direct hotel costs, while the balance funded other services such as food and security. According to NY City Hall, the funds were not part of a disaster relief grant," the report explained.
Musk noted, "Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President's executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds."
Biden embedded throughout the government multiple ways for tax money to be spent on illegal aliens after they break the law and enter the U.S. without permission. One of Trump's agenda points is to eliminate that spending.
