Probably no situation could make more clear the dramatic upheaval that has happened under President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal aliens in America than the case where prosecutors are dropping gun charges against a suspect and the defense counsel may want them reinstated.
It is the case against Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel now have successfully asked a judge to dismiss.
He was accused of having an illegal firearm, according to a report from Fox News.
Magistrate William E. Fitzpatrick granted the motion for dismissal but stayed it until Friday to allow Santos' lawyer to decide whether he would appeal, to have the charge reinstated.
It's because Santos is accused of being a top MS-13 gang leader along the East Coast, and without the protection of a pending court case, he could be deported.
The DOJ has been asking that the case be dropped since early in April, shortly after his arrest.
Santos' lawyer, Muhammad Elsayed, said during a court hearing the government hasn't told him what would happen to his client once the charges are dismissed, "suggesting Villatoro Santos would like to be 'summarily deported' without any due process," the report said.
Elsayed also charged the DOJ's decision on the case "came from high up in the Trump administration."
"They have already determined the outcome, that he'll go to the worst prison in the Western Hemisphere," Elsayed claimed.
The judge said it is up to the prosecutors to determine their deliberative process, and perhaps Santos would need to bring a case with the Department of Homeland Security as a party.
Bondi has been succinct regarding the case, "As a terrorist, he will now face the removal process."
Santos' lawyer earlier told the court, "The United States government, at its highest levels, has been publicly and loudly propagating allegations that Mr. Villatoro Santos 'is one of the top leaders of MS-13′ and 'one of the leaders for the East Coast, one of the top in the entire country,' claims made by Attorney General Pam Bondi at a high-level press conference on March 27, 2025."
In another high-profile deportation case, that of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported even though he had a protective order aimed at preventing his deportation to El Salvador, the fight continues as the Supreme Court has ordered the government to facilitate his return, without explaining that requirement.
Further, El Salvado's president said that will not happen, leaving a multitude of questions about how an administration is supposed to enter a foreign country and take back to the United States a prisoner the government there is unwilling to give up.
A report in the Washington Examiner notes that a return trip probably would be ineffectual anyway.
George Washington University Law School professor John Banzhaf said on social media it would be likely a wasted effort since the administration could easily change his immigration status and deport him again.
"Any such return might be nothing more than an exercise in futility," he said. "There might be little purpose in flying him back if, upon his return to the U.S., his 'withholding of removal' status would very likely be immediately revoked."
Reports reveal he entered the U.S. illegally in 2011 and has been described in court documents as a past member of the violent MS-13 gang, a declared terrorist group.
Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele told Trump this week he has no power to return him to the U.S.
"We're not very fond of releasing terrorists into our country."

An appeals court in Illinois has ruled that the zoning rules in the city of Rockford do not allow an abortion industry representative to set up its corporate activities inside a residential neighborhood.
The fight involves residents and homeowners who objected to the move by abortionist Dennis Christensen, his corporation, Rockford, and its Zoning Board of Appeals.
The Thomas More Society represented the residents and homeowners.
Peter Breen, society head of litigation, explained, "The court's ruling sends a crystal-clear message: zoning laws exist to protect our communities, and they must be enforced fairly and consistently, even when they impact the abortion industry.
"The court has exposed the Rockford Zoning Board's flawed reasoning and upheld the rule of law, ensuring that businesses, even abortion businesses, cannot ignore the laws and may not set up shop wherever they want, including in the middle of quiet family neighborhoods filled with young children."
The ruling is from the Illinois Appellate Court for the Fourth District.
The decision confirmed both Rockford officials and a lower court erred in allowing an abortion business to move into a residential neighborhood by calling itself a "home business."
Christensen and his abortion corporation Rockford Family Planning Center 2022 sought to convert a residential property, which originally allowed a homeowner to operate a home business. into an abortion business.
The ruling cited a long list of significant variances between the abortion business and the prior chiropractor's home business, including that Christensen's new business is not a "home business."
Plaintiffs included Shawn and Lisa Rylatt who challenged the scheme for its rules violations, noise, and reduced property values.

Artificial intelligence is the new web, the new cell phone, the new email, the new laptop, and the new tech that is expected to impact lives in a major way, as all of those earlier advances did.
But it also offers a threat, especially to families, according to a submission from the Family Research Council to the government's ongoing comment period for rules regarding the advances and use of AI.
The comment included a description of an incident uncovered by an ethicist who tested an AI chatbot. The question was about a 13-year-old girl whose 31-year-old "boyfriend" had "invited her on a trip and was talking about having sex with her for the first time."
The chatbot, it was not identified which one was tested, ignored the clear potential for criminal pedophilia, statutory rape, kidnapping, or worse, the report explained.
Instead, the chatbot "offered suggestions on how to make her first time special," FRC noted in its comments.
"Children's brains are still developing, and their emotions tend to run high. The possibility of social isolation for children and teens is even more pronounced and can severely affect their lives for the worse. An AI-saturated world presents new challenges for parents who want to raise children capable of healthy relationships.
"When children interact with AI, they may internalize distorted messages about human relationships and how to treat people. Since chatbots are designed to be addictive, they will often tell children exactly what they want to hear. This can hinder children's ability to handle disagreements, think critically about media, and respect their parents. Relying on AI chatbots will not help children develop into well-rounded individuals or integrate into society effectively. No matter how well-packaged certain apps and chatbots are, AI will never replace real friends, mentors, teachers, and family," the FRC said.
A report from the FRC said the comment on AI rules noted that "chatbots" will have the power "to morph into dangerous technology."
"Family is the foundation of society. Throughout history, major technological advancements — such as industrialization and communications innovations like the cell phone — have significantly impacted how people meet, marry, start families, and raise children. The rise of AI presents opportunities and challenges on a scale we have never encountered before, and they can be difficult to predict," the FRC explained.
The FRC itself was targeted by a leftist a few years ago. A violent criminal charged into its Washington offices with weapons, shooting and injuring a security officer who eventually was able to subdue the attacker.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed the attacker, who picked out the FRC because it was listed, wrongly, on the "hate" map assembled to target Christians and conservatives by the often-sued Southern Poverty Law Center, wanted to kill as many FRC employees as possible that day.
The FRC explained, "In February, Vice President J.D. Vance noted the second Trump administration is drawing up a 'precautionary regulatory regime' to allow broader use of artificial intelligence while assuring it serves everyone's interests."
The council said, however, that for "all Americans to benefit from the technology," any action plan must "prioritize considerations for how AI will affect families and children."
The report said already the "Veterans Administration will now use AI to analyze veterans' health care needs; NASA will use AI to plot space exploration; and the Justice Department will use AI modeling to assess patterns of crime."
"America is an exceptional country, and we can do this the right way. We ought to be careful not to rush into AI development, as we do not fully understand its potential impacts," FRC suggested.

The president of El Salvador scorched members of the news media Monday for suggesting he release a suspected member of the MS-13 gang back to the United States.
"The question is preposterous," said Nayib Bukele during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. "How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? I don't have the power to return him to the United States."
"How can I return him to the United States?" he added. "Of course, I'm not gonna do it."
When asked directly if he could release Kilmar Abrego Garcia inside El Salvador, Bukele replied: "Yeah, but I'm not really fond of releasing terrorists into our country. We just turned the murder capital of the world into the safest country in the Western Hemisphere, and you want us to go back into releasing criminals so we can go back into being the murder capital of the world? That's not gonna ever happen."
Trump added to Bukele's disdain of the media, noting: "They'd love to have a criminal released into our country. They would love it. They're sick. These are sick people."
Earlier Monday, Stephen Miller, Trump's deputy chief of staff for policy, explained in detail how Garcia was given a final deportation order in 2019, and since he is a citizen of El Salvador, that is the country where he should remain.

Democrats in Maine are arguing in court they can decide which lawmakers can vote in the legislature, essentially that an elected lawmaker has no right to vote there because of her conservative views on transgenderism, even though a majority of the state's residents support her perspective, not that of the leftists in the legislature.
The startling and extremist claim was made by Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey, a far leftist who has been trying to get the courts to dismiss a First Amendment fight brought by Rep. Laurel Libby, a Republican who was deprived of her constitutional right to vote by majority Democrats because she criticized their agenda to promote transgenderism.
Frey, a Democrat, claimed while failing to get the case dismissed.
According to the Washington Stand, Frey demanded, "Rep. Libby does not have a First Amendment right to vote, as a legislator, on any particular piece of legislation."
He claimed that the state House can "discipline" its members any way it wants.
WND reported that "discipline" was by Democrats who stripped the elected Republican lawmaker of her right to speak in the legislature, or to vote there.
The fight blew up into the headlines when President Donald Trump said the federal government's position is that there are two genders, male and female, and males should not be in women's sports.
Maine Gov. Janet Mills publicly defied the president, prompting the federal government to begin withholding federal funds to Maine, as well as federal investigations into possibly federal law violations by the state.
The fight has left Maine in "noncompliance with Title IX," and a poll by the University of New Hampshire showed 64% of the state's residents say transgender athletes "definitely should not" or "probably should not" participate in girls' and women's sports.
Libby meanwhile, sued the Democrats in the state legislature for censoring her because of her views.
House Democrats in the state have claimed that his Democrat party had to "punish" Libby for her beliefs.
The case is being heard by Judge Melissa Dubose of Rhode Island, because one of the transgender athlete's parents works in the federal court system in Maine, creating a conflict of interest in the case for that entire network.
The report explained Assistant Attorney General Kimberly Patwardhan told the court that Libby's representation of her constituents is unaltered, even though she cannot express their opinions on issues, measures, and laws.
Libby has charged the Democrats, in fact, are depriving all of her constituents of their right to be represented in the lawmaking body.
Free speech advocates say the case should be an easy victory for Libby.
"There is little question the House majority targeted Rep. Libby because of her viewpoint," said a filing from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression. Democrats there, in fact, are doing "an end-run around the super-majoritarian provisions of the Maine Constitution" and "an egregious violation of the First Amendment."
Democrats insist they can disenfranchise all of the voters in Libby's district when they choose.
Libby had posted an image of a boy who calls himself a girl winning a girls' state championship on Facebook.
"District 90 now stands voiceless on the House floor — unable to vote, unable to speak, and unable to be represented on matters ranging from an $11 billion state budget to local priorities impacting working families. The inability to speak to that legislation, especially in the minority, where it may not change the outcome but can at least register the opinion of my district, is crucial." Libby charged.
FIRE also pointed out that, as often happens, Democrats have not consistently applied the same standard being used to attack Libby to all.
Legislators took no action against Rep. Vicki Doudera (D-41) after she shared the name and photo of an underage chess champion on social media, the report noted.

Political rhetoric over the past few years has been littered with warnings about a "constitutional crisis."
That's been one of the Democrats' go-to talking points to attack President Donald Trump.
After all, they accused him of planning to set himself up as a dictator, to order the jailing of his political opponents, and even to use the military for his own political purposes.
To a much lesser degree, there have been reports of a "constitutional crisis" that has come about since he took office because of a long list of federal district judges, those in black robes at the entry level for the federal court system, taking over various responsibilities of the executive branch, including foreign policy, the border security and such.
But now an analysis at the Federalist pinpoints the actual trigger behind a "constitutional crisis": The Supreme Court.
For its refusal to rein in those judges, deliver a mandate that they are not to interfere with the president's constitutional rights, duties, and responsibilities.
The analysis is by Margot Cleveland, a lawyer and a graduate of the Notre Dame Law School, where she earned the Hoynes Prize—the law school's highest honor. She also has served for nearly 25 years as a permanent law clerk for a federal appellate judge on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She also is of counsel for the New Civil Liberties Alliance.
She explains, "The Supreme Court has interceded six times in less than three months to rein in federal judges who improperly exceeded their Article III authority and infringed on the Article II authority of President Donald Trump. Yet the high court continues to issue mealy-mouthed opinions which serve only to exacerbate the ongoing battle between the Executive and Judicial branches of government."
The problem is about to get worse, she explained, as, "Now there is a constitutional crisis primed to explode this week in a federal court in Maryland over the removal of an El Salvadoran — courtesy of the justices' latest baby-splitting foray on Thursday."
The fight is over an order from Paula Xinis, who told the Trump administration to "facilitate and effectuate the return of Plaintiff Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia to the United States by no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, April 7, 2025."
Garcia was deported to his native El Salvador after a court ruled he could not be deported to that country. Mitigating that mistake was the fact that the court order also concluded Garcia, as an alien illegally present in the United States, was subject to removal under federal law — just not to El Salvador.
Garcia's demands for asylum and other relief were rejected.
So followed the order from Xinis.
While the process found Garcia was "wrongly" sent to El Salvador, the Trump administration explained simply that Xinis didn't have the authority to intervene in international relations and order Trump to "facilitate and effectuate" the return of Garcia.
Garcia is a member of MS-13, a designated terrorist organization.
The Supreme Court granted a brief stay, then ordered the judge to clarify the order, specifically the demand to "effectuate" Garcia's return because that might "exceed the district court's authority."
Xinis then changed the order to have the administration "facilitate" Barcia's return, and further to file daily reports on where he is, and the administration responded with, "Foreign affairs cannot operate on judicial timelines, in part because it involves sensitive country-specific considerations wholly inappropriate for judicial review."
Garcia's lawyers then demanded the U.S. send someone to accompany him back to the United States on a special flight the government would arrange, and provide all documentation for him to enter the U.S.
The Supreme Court, the analysis confirmed, is facing the facts presented by the Trump administration that, "The federal courts have no authority to direct the Executive Branch to conduct foreign relations in a particular way, or engage with a foreign sovereign in a given manner."
That is, the administration said, "the 'exclusive power of the President as the sole organ of the federal government in the field of international relations.'"
"The justices should have foreseen this standoff and defused the situation last week by clearly defining the limits of the lower court's authority. The Supreme Court's continuing failure to do so is wreaking havoc on the reputation of the courts — and our constitutional order," said the analysis.

America is facing an "epidemic" of transgenderism among children, with more than 300,000 kids ages 13-17 identified as transgender during 2022, up by 100% from the previous estimates.
And it's a "cause for alarm," according to a new report from American First Policy Institute.
"Transgender identification increases risks for exposure to dangerous and irreversible medical interventions like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and sex-reassignment surgeries," the report warns.
"Transgender identification is the first step along a path culminating in medically unnecessary, dangerous, and life-altering medical interventions. The pain and suffering caused by these (often ghastly) procedures are especially tragic, given that the premise underlying this entire field of 'medicine' is so obviously in error. No person possesses a 'gender identity' contrary to that person's sex."
The report's conclusion notes that "The confusion that pushes vulnerable children toward these barbaric procedures is exacerbated by many of the nation's prominent institutions—its medical, education, and political establishments—embracing unscientific, gender ideology–informed policies, concepts, and jargon."
"The spread of gender ideology in K-12 schools is especially concerning. There is additionally good cause for believing online social media and pornography consumption contribute to gender confusion,' It explains the belief, promoted around the nation and the world at the highest levels when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were in office.
Actually, following the science, a man cannot become a woman, nor a woman become a man, because being male or female is embedded into the human body down to the DNA level.
The report cites Komodo Health, which drew on private and public health insurance claims to confirm that gender dysphoria diagnoses, "a proxy for transgender identification," rose 178% among children 6-17 from 2017-2021. Further, cross-sex hormone prescriptions more than doubled, and breast implantations, or removals, increased by more than 18%.
"These trends are stark. At the same time, the true scope of the youth market for transgender medical procedures is almost certainly larger than the analysis by Komodo suggests. A recent analysis of the National Insurance Database uncovered 'evidence of 5,288 to 6,294 'gender-affirming' double mastectomies for girls under age 18 from 2017–2023. Annual counts for these procedures exceeded 1,000 in both 2021 and 2022—far more than the 238–282 identified by Komodo," the report noted.
It confirmed that from 2019 to 2023, there were 13,994 transgender medical interventions were performed on children, 5,747 "sex change" surgeries were performed on children, and 62,682 hormone and puberty blocker prescriptions written for 8,579 child patients.
And nearly $120 million "was made from performing transgender medical interventions on children.
The result?
"Serious and irreparable harm. The side effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones include impotence, sterility, and physical health complications ranging from stunted growth to cancer. Notwithstanding claims to the contrary by transgender activists, these changes are often permanent. Sex-reassignment surgeries are worse still. Amputating healthy body parts because confused children believe doing so will ease their anxiety is reckless and cruel."
And it's the fault of adults, as children are not legally permitted to consume alcohol, and are not "capable of making life-altering decisions."
It is the "school-to-clinic pipeline" in which men, "who dress as hyper-sexualized caricatures of women and recruit children to publicly participate in their fetishes. It is adults who implement policies allowing boys into girls' sports and intimate facilities and who mandate the use of so-called 'preferred pronouns'. It is adults, not children, who create the online social media platforms and pornographic content that fuels the transgender social contagion."
It doesn't become a person's "identity" simply because there is a mental health condition, the report charges.
"As recently as 2012, transgenderism (formerly 'transsexualism') was widely recognized as a mental/sexual health disorder. For example, in the fourth edition of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV), the American Psychiatric Association (APA) defined 'gender identity disorder' (GID) as 'a persistent and strong cross-gender identification and a persistent unease with one's sex.'"
Needing to be recognized, too, is that transgender patients are nearly four times as likely to have been diagnosed with substance abuse disorders, more than four times as likely to have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, more than five times as likely to have been diagnosed with a mood or anxiety disorder, and nearly 10 times as likely to have been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Post-traumatic stress issues and personality disorders also are widely present in that community.
The problem was aggravated in 2013 when the medical community decided that it was the "stress" felt by gender-confused patients that was the disorder, not the gender confusion itself.
As of now, the report said, 27 states had passed legislation to protect children from harmful, irreversible, and unapproved transgender surgeries and medications: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

As millions of believers commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, they may be stunned to learn one of the most famous Bible verses dealing with the event is actually packing additional meanings that make the episode even more spectacular.
This is according to a Christian author who is shining more light on the content of Scripture.
The line in question is from the beginning of the 20th chapter of the Gospel of John where it states: "On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark. She saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb" (John 20:1 CSB).
"On the physical level, most people already understand what's happening in this passage," says Joe Kovacs, author of the best-seller, "Reaching God Speed: Unlocking the Secret Broadcast Revealing the Mystery of Everything."
"There's a believing woman in the person of Mary Magdalene arriving at the tomb of Jesus early Sunday morning and she sees the rock had been removed from the tomb.
"But when we open our spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear, this verse is broadcasting a mind-blowing double and triple meaning that sums up the phenomenal message of the Scripture in one single sentence. Once you understand it, you can't unsee it!"
Kovacs says the sentence to focus on is: "She saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb."
"Beyond the physical event that everyone already understands, there is a Spirit-based parable message being aired here, and to grasp its meaning, we only need to connect the dots with the rest of the Bible. It's actually quite easy and fun to do."
"Let's start with the stone. We all know what a stone is. It's a rock. And who famously is called a rock as well as a stone in the Bible? Yes, it's Jesus Himself!"
Just a few of the verses calling Jesus a rock or stone include:
Kovacs says the second word to focus on is "tomb."
"We all know what a tomb is. It's a grave. It's where dead people are," the author says. "And interestingly, Jesus even likens PEOPLE to tombs at times, especially when He's talking to hypocrites."
As He said: "You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity" (Matthew 23:27 CSB).
Kovacs says: "On the parable level using God's Spirit, tombs represent evil people. Even the apostle Paul calls our body of flesh the 'body of death'" (Romans 7:24 NKJV).
"Even though we think we're alive, unless and until we come to God, we're actually the walking dead, and Jesus called people that when He said, 'let the dead bury their dead'" (Matthew 8:22).
"So let's connect the dots now. When Mary saw the stone had been removed from the tomb, this is simply another way of saying that Jesus Himself had been removed from the tomb, as in resurrected from the dead! The stone or rock removed from the tomb ultimately refers to Jesus taken away not only from His gravesite but also from His body of death!
"To drive this point home, the very next verse of the Bible has Mary uttering these words confirming the thought: 'They've taken the Lord out of the tomb' (John 20:2 CSB).
"So yes, there's a secondary meaning in addition to the physical one of merely seeing a solid rock removed from the grave. It is the Ultimate Rock, Jesus, being removed from the tomb. But if that's not enough to astonish you, there's a third meaning as well."
The author, known for his "Shocked by the Bible" series, says not only do stones and rocks represent God Himself, they can also represent human people.
"Those who read the Bible know it's no secret that Jesus called Simon His apostle 'Peter,' a word meaning 'stone' or 'rock," says Kovacs. "And this stone called Peter can represent all believers who repent of their sins to follow God and feed the sheep, as he was famously told to do in John 21:17.
"Scripture also refers to all believing people as 'living stones' in 1 Peter 2:5.
"Even in the story of David and Goliath, the shepherd took 'smooth stones' (1 Samuel 17:40) as the weapon to defeat the evil giant, because we the believers are, on the metaphoric level, the fearless smooth stones prepared and polished by God to take on and defeat the evil giant, who is none other than Satan the devil."
"So let's again connect the dots from the Gospel of John, keeping in mind that God often is 'declaring the end from the beginning' (Isaiah 46:10 KJV). When the verse says 'the stone had been removed from the tomb,' this is also a prophecy for the future for all people who come to follow God. Because we ourselves are the stones that will be removed from our own personal tomb, our body of death, our grave of perishing flesh. Like Jesus, we will be removed from our grave when we are resurrected from the dead and granted everlasting life!"
"Yes, folks. One single verse from the Bible that we've been reading all these years is broadcasting so much more than has ever been trumpeted. It's so much more than just a physical stone being removed from the tomb. It is about the spiritual Rock Jesus being removed from the grave 2,000 years ago, as well as all of His other stones, the faithful believers, eventually being removed from our temporary tombs in which we walk around every day.
"With ears to hear, the glorious conclusion for your life is no longer hidden. So when we hear someone say, 'He is risen' (Matthew 28:6), it's not just directly referring to Jesus rising from the dead, it's also alluding to the wondrous immortality for every single person who truly follows Him in order to get out of his or her own tomb."
Endorsed by Chuck Norris and other Christian champions, "Reaching God Speed" is nothing short of a breakthrough work, as it probes God's hidden messages embedded in popular movies, hit songs from (Adele and the Beatles to Frank Sinatra and Led Zeppelin), the stories we tell our children, everyday phrases we all say, historic news events, famous commercial campaigns, nature itself, and typical life activities such as inhaling every breath you take, sleeping, waking up and many more.
It features a myriad of stunning biblical revelations, as the book:

Saturday in West Palm Beach, President Trump was presented with a life-size bronze statue of himself posing with his fist in the air in defiance – just moments after an assassin's bullet nearly took his life in Butler, Pennsylvania, last year.
Former congressional candidate Anthony Constantino, the CEO of Sticker Mule, gifted the president the monument, which will be a permanent fixture at his Trump International Golf Club.
Dubbed "The Defiance Monument," the 7-foot-tall statue sits atop a stone pedestal with Constantino's name engraved on it.
"The president was in a happy, joking mood, which was great to see," said Constantino, according to a statement.
Trump and Constantino met at the monument before the president went out to play a round of golf. According to the statement, they were joined by Roger Stone, who's become an adviser and friend to Constantino, as well as Bo Loudon, a friend of Barron Trump.

Whistleblower already has charged the company with being willing to jeopardize national interests
Mark Zuckerberg, the chief of Facebook and a key player in America's Big Tech industry, has been "invited" to tell Congress about if, and how, his company kowtowed to China, possibly to the detriment of America.
That invitation comes from Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., who has written Zuckerberg a letter calling for his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism.
It follows revelations by a former Facebook insider, now a whistleblower, Sarah Wynn-Williams, who has finished telling Congress Meta, Facebook's parent, didn't only sell out Americans, it surrendered to the Chinese Communist Party.
She explained there was a secret project, called "Project Aldrin," that apparently involved handing to the CCP access to U.S. artificial intelligence tech.
The senator told Zuckerberg, "The American people deserve to know the truth about your company."
He cited the testimony from Wynn-Williams who told of the company's willingness "to jeopardize American national interests, betray American consumers and Chinese dissidents alike, and lie about it to Congress."
The claims include that Facebook briefed Chinese officials are AI tech allowing them to compete against American interests, were willing to hand over the data on users that the CCP wanted, and muzzled a Chinese dissident.
"Worse, your company lied directly to Congress about deplatforming Guo Wengui. A top executive of your company, under oath, claimed that Facebook did so according to its normal policies. Documentary evidence unveiled in the hearing, authenticated by the whistleblower, proves that the action was taken due to pressure from China."
It previously was reported that Wynn-Williams, who worked for Facebook from 2011 to 2017 and served as director of global public policy, told Congress the corporation was willing to capitulate to the Chinese government.
Facebook claimed her testimony wasn't accurate.
But in her prepared opening statement for a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, Wynn-Williams accused founder Zuckerberg of pledging himself as a "free speech champion" while working "hand in glove" with the Chinese Communist Party to "construct and test custom-built censorship tools that silenced and censored critics of the Chinese Communist Party."
Wynn-Williams charged, 'I watched as executives decided to provide the Chinese Communist Party with access to Meta user data — including that of Americans."
