Suspect in YouTube shooting was an animal rights activist

As the hours pass, more and more details of the YouTube shooter are painting an ugly picture of the alleged shooter.

In addition to being angry at YouTube for restricting her videos, Nasim Najafi Aghdam, the alleged shooter, was a pro-PETA activist.

Making a Stance

Aghdam did not seem very happy with the western world.

One of her pet peeves, so to speak, was the military using pigs during live fire exercises.

In 2009, she was captured on film by a San Diego news outlet at a PETA rally.

She had numerous posts on her various social media profiles supporting PETA, but they have all been reportedly disabled or removed since the shooting.

Unhappy with YouTube

Aghdam had numerous posts ranting about YouTube.

One of her complaints was that her videos were being filtered by YouTube to prevent her from growing her viewership.

She compared her videos to “racier” videos by people like Miley Cyrus that were apparently untouched and unfiltered by YouTube.

In one of her videos, she stated, “There is not equal growth opportunity on YOUTUBE or any other video sharing site, your channel will grow if they want to!!!!”

Her rant continued, “Youtube filtered my channels to keep them from getting views!”

The Warning

According to Aghdam’s brother, who did not identify his full name to reporters, he warned local police that she “might do something.”

The shooter had traveled all the way to Mountain View from San Diego, where police found her in her car prior to the attack.

When police encountered Aghdam, they said “At no point during our roughly 20-minute interaction with her did she mention anything about YouTube, if she was upset with them, or that she had planned to harm herself or others.”

The police further stated they had reached out to both her brother and father, and neither of them said anything about her potential for violence at YouTube, which is contrary to what the brother had stated.

Ranting Lunatic

During the shooting at the campus, Aghbar reportedly started screaming, “Come at me.”

According to witnesses, she fired at several people, wounding three that we know of.

After her shooting rampage, she reportedly then took her life, bringing an end to her attack on YouTube.
