Supreme Court closing in on Roe v. Wade draft leaker’s identity

Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo announced that the identity of the individual that leaked the Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade will be revealed in “short order.”

The news that the Supreme Court was set to overturn the landmark abortion law rocked the nation, and it didn’t take long for leftist protestors to take to the streets. However, many Americans were more interested in who was responsible for the unprecedented leaking of the opinion.

Now according to Bartiromo, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out who committed this heinous crime.

The walls are closing in

During a segment of “Sunday Morning Futures,” Bartiromo said, “We are going to know who leaked that draft opinion in short order. I’ve got [Sen.] Ted Cruz on the show today, and he basically walked me through it yesterday when we were talking about today’s appearance — that there is — it’s really a small group, 12 people. Because it’s three liberal justices that have four law clerks each, a pool of 12 people that people are looking at right now.”

The leaking of the draft opinion to Politico already drew heavy condemnation from the Justices of the Supreme Court, who have made it clear that they will not be intimidated.

Politico reported that “The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right.”

Now the question of abortion access will be relegated to states, an overwhelming number of which will act to immediately ban the barbaric procedure.

Of course, that still leaves questions about what will happen with the individual that leaked the draft opinion in a blatant attempt to intimidate the court into changing its mind.

Cruz offered his insight saying, “I think it is very, very likely a law clerk, and it is very, very likely a law clerk for one of the three liberal justices, that means there are twelve human beings who are your likely suspect pool, that’s not a big likely suspect pool. It is likely to be someone who is a hard partisan, and who was willing to burn the place down because he or she was so upset about what happened. If I were to guess, the most likely justice for whom the law clerk is clerking is Sonia Sotomayor.”

Undermining the Supreme Court

The leaking of the draft decision undermines the integrity of the Supreme Court and, by many metrics, can be considered a serious crime.

Once the leaker is identified, it is imperative that that individual is held accountable for attempting to intimidate the Supreme Court into changing an opinion by inciting unrest and potential violence.

Senator Cruz was particularly vehement about the seriousness of this situation saying, “It is difficult to overstate how destructive it is to the Supreme Court.” The only way to reverse that damage is to send a strong message that such actions will be strongly punished.
