Former Vice President Joe Biden is about to have another legal problem on his hands.
According to the Daily Caller, an attorney for 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse has threatened Biden with a libel lawsuit, charging that the Democratic White House hopeful unfairly suggested that the teenager is a “white supremacist.”
Rittenhouse first made headlines in August of this year after he was “accused of killing two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin,” amid unrest there following the shooting of a Black man by local police, the Daily Caller reported.
Rittenhouse is now facing a murder charge and other counts that he has pledged to fight back against, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Biden, for his part, made racism and alleged white supremacy a prominent subject during Tuesday night’s debate between him and President Donald Trump. After Biden and debate moderator Chris Wallace challenged Trump to denounce white supremacy groups — specifically mentioning the Proud Boys — Trump did, sort of.
Trump told them to “stand back and stand by.”
The media pounced on his phrasing, and though Trump clarified his comments on Wednesday — even going so far as to tell the alleged white supremacist group to “stand down” — that did not stop the Biden campaign from running an ad accusing the president of being racist, and suggesting that 17-year-old Rittenhouse is one, as well.
There’s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night. pic.twitter.com/Q3VZTW1vUV

“You will hear footsteps”
After the ad blew up on social media, Rittenhouse’s attorney, Lin Wood, officially demanded a retraction with a lawsuit waiting in the wings. “Formal demand for public retraction is being prepared for Biden/Harris Campaign on behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse,” he wrote on Twitter, according to the Daily Caller.
Later in the day, Wood sent out another tweet threatening a suit against the Biden–Harris campaign.
On behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse, I shall sue @JoeBiden & Biden/Harris Campaign for libel.
I am partisan in 20/20 supporting @realDonaldTrump.
I am non-partisan trial lawyer who aggressively pursues truth to achieve justice.
Put in your hearing aid, Joe. You will hear footsteps.

It should be noted that President Donald Trump has disavowed hate groups more than 20 times publicly. And that doesn’t even count his plans to designate the KKK as a terrorist organization, something Joe Biden failed to do during his four decades in the Senate and eight years in a presidential administration.
