Stormy Daniels breaks silence on Trump guilty verdict

 June 2, 2024

Former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict generated a mountain of responses, including one from Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress who was one of DA Alvin Bragg's star witnesses.

According to USA Today, Daniels' lawyer Clark Brewster told the outlet that his client felt a sense of "satisfaction" after the verdict was read last week in the Manhattan courtroom.

Trump was found guilty on 34 felony charges of falsifying business records regarding his so-called "hush money" payments to Daniels in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election

Her lawyer added that Daniels would rather wait "until the dust settles" to offer her extended thoughts on the outcome of the trial.

What'd he say?

Brewster said his client had a "tremendous" sense of satisfaction the wake of the trial, which lasted for the better part of the month of May.

You’ve got 18 people, 12 ultimately deliberating as jurors, who gave up a month-plus of their lives to sit and listen to that evidence,” Brewster said.

He added, “After going to the courtroom and testifying and looking the jury in the eye and seeing how the evidence was coming in and the cross examination, Stormy had a tremendous sense of not only satisfaction, but trust and admiration for how the system worked."

Brewster said his client feels as though the justice system worked in this case, contrary to the beliefs of many from both sides of the political aisle who believe it was nothing less than a political hit job on Trump ahead of the 2024 election.

“She's pleased that it's over, frankly," her lawyer added.

“Obviously, this is a historical moment; there has never been a president or a former president convicted so it’s momentous in that regard. … And she played a part in it,” Daniels said, according to her lawyer, who was authorized to speak on her behalf.

Truthful?

Brewster said Daniels was pleased that the jury found her "truthful" on the stand, even though her testimony shocked many, given its salacious nature.

"One of the things about Stormy is that it’s really important to her for people to understand that what she was saying was truthful and consistent,” Daniels' lawyer said.

Brewster added that he feels as though he had "been through a lot" in representing her at trial.

“We’ve been through a lot, me as her lawyer and her, not just the specifics of this trial but all that she's been through since 2019 when I began representing her. So it was, it was kind of a poignant discussion that we had at that moment."
