The unidentified source who alleges that President Joe Biden was once involved in a bribery scheme with a foreign national is an individual who has been used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) since the time of the Obama administration, Fox News reports.
What's more, is that the FBI source has been described as "highly credible."
Fox obtained this information from an anonymous individual who is said to be familiar with the situation.
If Fox's report is true, then there is more reason to believe that the bribery allegation is probably also true.
This report from Fox comes after a whistleblower told Republican members of Congress that the FBI was in possession of a document detailing a criminal bribery scheme that involved Biden, back when he was the vice president, and a foreign national. As part of the scheme, $5 million was allegedly exchanged for influence over policy decisions.
The document in the FBI's possession, which is known as an FD-1023 form, is dated June 30, 2020. And, the information in that document comes from the "highly credible" individual mentioned above.
Fox reports:
The source told Fox News Digital that the confidential human source was used by the FBI for "at least several years" before the generation of the June 2020 FD-1023 form detailing the Biden allegations. The source also told Fox News Digital that the confidential human source has been "consistently reviewed by the FBI" and has been "found to be highly credible." The source said the individual participated in investigative matters during the Obama administration.
All of these pieces of information would give one more reason to believe that the information contained in the document is true.
The problem is that the document's details have been hard to come by, and this is because the FBI has been playing hardball.
House Republicans have been trying to get access to the document described above. But, the FBI, under Christopher Wray's leadership, has refused to hand the document over. Republicans then responded with a subpoena, but the FBI still refused to comply.
At this point, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) threatened to hold Wray in contempt of Congress. This led to a meeting between Wray and Comer.
According to Comer, during this meetup, Wray admitted that the document does in fact exist.
Not only that, but Wray, according to Comer, has also now decided to allow members of Congress to view the document. The viewing will take place on Monday.
It could end up being an eventful week, especially for Biden.
