Some Democrats still want Michelle Obama in 2024, which is a bad sign for Biden

Michelle Obama's name continues to appear on the wish list of some Democrats as an alternative to President Biden in 2024.

This is an anomaly that conservatives say is partially driven by liberals' and their supporters concern that investigations relating to Hunter Biden will reveal more damaging information before the election, as the Washington Examiner reported.

At least half of Democratic voters do not want Biden to run for a second term, despite his status, due largely to the fact that Biden is the nation's oldest president at age 80.

As new allegations emerge that he may have been involved in pay-to-play influence through his son's international business transactions, the level of discontent seems to remain high.

Possible Reprecussions

Even if Biden were to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election, there is no emerging consensus on his replacement. Even less party support exists for candidates such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

During their eight years in the White House, Mrs. Obama was generally more popular among Democrats than her husband. Some apprehensive Democrats keep bringing up Mrs. Obama.

She remains more popular among Democrats than Biden, according to a poll conducted last month.

The Center Square Voters' Voice Poll found that Biden would defeat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson with relative ease. But if Mrs. Obama entered the contest, she would receive more support from Democratic voters, 48%, than Mr. Biden, 36%, according to the survey.

More Democrat Opinions

“Biden is pretty safe in the Democratic primary. However, he’d better make sure Michelle Obama is on his Christmas card list,” said Mike Noble, CEO of Noble Predictive Insights, which conducted the poll.

In a May op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Democratic operatives Douglas Schoen and Andrew Stein referred to Mrs. Obama as the party's "strongest candidate by far" as an alternative to Biden.

Mrs. Obama "polls well and can replace Kamala without anyone calling it racist," said Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on social media.

“Watch for Democrats to start quietly pushing Michelle Obama more and more as a ‘unifying force’ for the party against [former President Donald] Trump.”

Conservative podcaster Dan Bongino stated that Mrs. Obama's popularity is not coincidental.

According to him, this reflects the left's concern that House GOP investigators, who have already uncovered evidence that Hunter Biden and his associates received approximately $20 million from foreign oligarchs while Joe Biden was vice president, will unearth more damaging information about the president before the election.
