Earlier this week, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led a delegation of fed-up Republicans to stage a sit-in at a closed-door impeachment hearing being held by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) — and predictably, Democrats threw a fit over it.
When reports emerged that some of the GOP lawmakers had even asked to be arrested for storming the hearing, freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lost it. She slammed the Republican delegation for allegedly relying on “mountains of entitlement and privilege,” The Hill reported.
Take a look:
There have been many aspects of the GOP’s little flash mob that have relied on mountains of entitlement and privilege, but them *asking* the police to be arrested is just…
Well, let’s just say my community would find it hard to understand why *anyone* would ask to be arrested. https://t.co/ez5IsocNm5

AOC gets it wrong
When Democrats in Congress are involved in protests that get them arrested, they are celebrated by the likes of AOC. But when Republicans do it, she claims it is all about privilege.
Of course, that’s not what Republicans were going for here. By being arrested, they know they would have gotten more headlines, which means more Americans would be aware of the atrocities that are taking place on Capitol Hill right now.
Additionally, if they were arrested, there is a chance Democrats would have been publicly put on the spot to justify the secrecy that is veiling their impeachment inquiry.
Nancy locks them out
And make no mistake: the Dems are being secretive about it. In fact, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) recently went to the House records room to try to view testimony given in one of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff’s private hearings.
When he arrived, he was told the materials were not available to him, Crenshaw alleged.
This violates a House Rules and Manual stipulation that says even if these are committee meetings, all House members have access to the materials.
Point being: Democrats, specifically the House speaker and the House Intelligence chair, are now violating House rules to keep Republicans and the American people in the dark.
As Rep. Crenshaw stated at the time, this should be disturbing and cause outrage in every American — not just conservatives. What are the Dems hiding?
