In the months following the Capitol riot in January, Democrats and their corporate media allies repeatedly asserted that Trump-supporting “insurrectionists” murdered Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who died a day after the unrest at the Capitol, and even included the charge in the failed impeachment effort launched after former President Donald Trump left office.
It has now been revealed by the Washington, D.C. chief medical examiner’s office that Sicknick actually died of natural causes following a pair of strokes caused by a blood clot that was likely linked to a pre-existing medical condition, The Hill reported.
Furthermore, contrary to unsupported claims that Sicknick died as a result of being hit over the head with a fire extinguisher and/or from being sprayed in the face with bear mace, the medical examiner reported that the officer did not suffer any sort of fatal internal or external injuries, nor had he experienced any sort of allergic reaction.
Dead of natural causes
On Monday, The Washington Post reported on the findings of the medical examiner’s office that sharply undermined and destroyed the false narrative regarding Sicknick’s unfortunate death that The Post and other media outlets had aided Trump-hating Democrats, and a few Republicans, in perpetuating over the past three months.
Medical Examiner Francisco Diaz told The Post that the thorough autopsy revealed “no evidence” that Sicknick “suffered an allergic reaction to chemical irritants,” which Diaz said would have immediately caused severe swelling and constriction in the officer’s throat.
Likewise, Diaz said there was “no evidence of internal or external injuries” — meaning Sicknick wasn’t hit on the head.
Instead, Diaz said that, according to the autopsy, the officer died from two strokes at the base of his brain stem that was caused by a clot in an artery feeding the brain with blood. Citing privacy laws, the medical examiner declined to provide any additional information on pre-existing medical conditions suffered by the officer that could have led to the blood clot and strokes.
Tragedy exploited for partisan gain
Breitbart‘s John Nolte noted just how devastating this revelation is to the baseless assertions and unfounded lies put forward by the corporate media and Democrats to try and hang a murder on a pair of Trump supporters, as well as Trump himself. In fact, two men are currently facing a slew of charges related to an assault on Sicknick and the Capitol riot more broadly.
It had initially been claimed by The New York Times, without any actual facts or evidence, that Sicknick had succumbed to injuries he had suffered when he was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher while defending the Capitol building from pro-Trump protesters and rioters.
That claim was eventually debunked and walked back slightly only to then morph into a similarly fact-free assertion that Sicknick suffered an allergic reaction to being sprayed with bear mace by Trump supporters during the chaotic incursion into the Capitol building.
The Daily Caller reported that House Democrats, in their memo supporting Trump’s post-presidency impeachment for allegedly “inciting a riot,” claimed as fact that “The insurrectionists killed a Capitol Police officer by striking him in the head with a fire extinguisher.”
The Capitol riot was bad and the death of Sicknick a tragedy, but those terrible things have only been compounded and exploited by the dishonesty of Democrats and the media in a blatantly partisan effort to advance a particular — and false — anti-Trump narrative.
