Shootings in DC leave 2 dead, 7 wounded: Report

Washington, D.C. is the latest Democrat-run city to turn into the O.K. Corral.

On Thursday, the streets of D.C. turned into a war zone, with a total of nine people being shot — two of them fatally, according to MSN.

Two shootings in one night

Around 10 p.m., the first shooting took place at an apartment complex.

In all, six people were shot, with one man dying.

Police had asked citizens to be on the lookout for two men in a light-colored Nissan sedan. They reportedly used an “AK-style” weapon in the shooting.

Authorities had not reported a motive for this shooting as of Friday.

About a half an hour later, the second shooting took place on the 1400 block of Rhode Island NE. In all, three people were shot, with one man dying from his wounds.

As is the case in the first shooting, police have no motive for the shooting at this time.

Where is the outrage?

Considering the national attention given to the recent shootings in Texas, one would think the shootings in D.C. would have been blasted all over the media.

But while the mainstream media outlets did report the incident, it was hardly done so in the same manner as the Texas events. Apparently, the media only gives real juice when they are sure the shooter is white and it happens in a conservative state.

And while most politicians ignored the shootings altogether, one member of D.C. City Council did speak out.

“It is beyond time to stop the epidemic of gun violence in this country, and I will not stand by while residents of Columbia Heights are again visited by the horrible specter of violence,” Brianne K. Nadeau (D-Ward 1) said on Twitter. But it looks like standing by is exactly what Dems like Nadeau are doing.
