Two Arkansas sheriff’s office staffers fired, charged with having sex with an inmate

There is nothing more upsetting than when someone in law enforcement abuses their authority — but that is exactly what happened in Pope County, Arkansas.

Two female members of the Pope County Sheriff’s Department have been fired after allegedly having sex with an inmate.

Disgraced Officers

According to reports, Lauren Elliott and Billie Tucker sexually abused an inmate.

When authorities were made aware of the abuse, both officers were immediately terminated, then arrested.

Elliott and Tucker are now facing charges of Fourth Degree Sexual Assault.

Tucker has also been charged with Introducing Prohibited Articles into a Correctional Facility.

Both abused the same inmate.

Heartbreaking Betrayal

Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones was visibly upset while discussing the report of the abuse.

“I am heartbroken by the betrayal of the two trusted employees and these actions will not be tolerated,” Jones said.

Full details of the abuse have not yet been released, as the investigation is ongoing.

Both former officers had their bond hearing on Monday.

Our prison system has been a prime topic of discussion recently thanks to Kim Kardashian, whose work led her to the office of President Donald Trump in hopes of commuting the life sentence of a convicted drug dealer, a feat she accomplished.

Since then, prison reform has been a pet project of Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner — and it seems he has more work to do.
