CNN’s Anna Navaro: Send Melania Trump, Cruz, Rubio back to native countries

On Sunday, CNN contributor and “Republican” strategist Anna Navaro made a suggestion to send Melania Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) back to their native countries, the Daily Wire reported. Her comment came after President Donald Trump said that far-left congressional members who constantly criticize America should go back to their native countries.

“And if we’re gonna start sending people back, I don’t know — ya know, listen, Ted Cruz was born in Canada, Marco Rubio’s parents were born in Cuba, Melania Trump was born where? Slovenia. How about her parents how are here through family immigration,” Navarro said.

Navarro then attacked Trump for his comments, even suggesting that he was racist for going after the Democrat congresswomen. “I am sick of this guy’s hypocrisy and his ways of dividing this country, pitting people against each other,” Navarro complained. “And I think it is no coincidence, it is no coincidence, that the congresspeople he’s picking on are all women of color, they’re all women of color.”

There has been strong backlash from Democrats and some Republicans against Trump for his tweets about far-left congresswomen including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MN).

What Did Trump Say?

“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run,” Trump said in a series of tweets.

He added that they should fix their countries of origin first before they tell Americans how to run things. Then he said he was sure House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) would be happy to arrange their travel.

Many feel that Trump’s comments toward the women were racist. Some even pointed out that Tlaib was born in Detroit, not outside the U.S.

In spite of criticism, Trump doubled down on his tweets, saying that Omar is an al Qaeda sympathizer. She declined to respond to his accusations.

What Did Trump Mean?

People, especially Democrats, have been calling Trump a racist since before he became president. Then again, people, especially Democrats, are often rather quick to throw that word around without really trying to understand any viewpoint different from their own.

Trump has been engaged in defending Pelosi against attacks by a small coalition of far-left Democrats that includes Omar, Tlaib, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

His comments pointed to a recent dynamic in which people come into the U.S. to escape oppression in other countries only to criticize the way their new country is run.

At times, some of these immigrants even seem to be trying to make their new country more like the old country they left behind. Instead of working to make America even greater, these progressive representatives seem to only be interested in tearing America down.
