For several weeks now, Republicans have been doing some behind-the-scenes work that they have managed to keep quiet — until now.
On Friday, a story broke on Breitbart revealing that several Republican senators are attempting to reverse the Democrats’ accusations of wrongdoing by President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine by attempting to dig through Treasury records to find the truth about Hunter and Joe Biden.
“Suspicious activity reports”
Ask any conservative these days, and they will tell you there has to be something shady in Hunter Biden’s past. His father was the point man for Ukraine for the Obama administration, and numerous recent revelations implicate him in several of Hunter’s money-making schemes.
Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter to Ken Blanco, who is the director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, saying that “Burisma was paying Hunter Biden as much as $50,000 a month and their panels were investigating ‘potentially improper actions by the Obama administration with respect to Burisma Holdings and Ukraine.'”
The letter was requesting to take a look at “suspicious activity reports,” documents concerning money laundering and fraud filed with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network that could possibly shed more light on the alleged wrongdoings of Hunter Biden.
Additionally, according to Breitbart, the letter “asked the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration for records of a 2016 White House meeting between Obama administration officials, representatives of the Ukrainian government, and officials from the Democratic National Committee.”
They’re coming for Joe
What those records will turn up remains to be seen, but that is hardly all Joe Biden has to worry about these days. Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, claims to have a safe full of documents outlining four decades of financial impropriety by Joe Biden.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has also just asked for a readout of some phone calls that took place between then-Vice President Joe Biden and Ukraine leadership.
Joe Biden, of course, claims this is a politically-motivated hit job, but the eye test tells us all a much different story.
You need only look at Hunter Biden’s board position with Burisma to find improprieties. Hunter had no experience in the energy sector, did not speak the language, and did not have a home in Ukraine, and yet was being paid tens of thousands of dollars a month by Burisma to sit on its board.
Without even seeing any evidence, you can see how easy it is to perceive that as a payoff to buy some influence with then-Vice President Joe Biden.
The walls are clearly starting to close in on Biden, so expect his temper to get worse and his cries to get louder with each passing day.
