Sean Hannity has been dominating cable news for years now, and he has guided Fox News to yet another year of smashing success.
Fox News is killing the competition in ratings, and it is no surprise to many.
Americans looking for different opinions
It is no secret that a majority of the mainstream media outlets are left-leaning. Some are extremely liberal and may as well be billed as another wing of the Democrat Party.
Fox News, while perhaps not completely unbiased, at least attempts to be fair in its political coverage. This draws in not only conservative viewers but also centrists looking for balanced coverage.
So, thanks to a fair coverage standard and a line of all-star hosts, Fox News is experiencing major success. The network took the basic cable top spot for the 4th year in a row with an average of 2.5 million viewers compared to MSNBC’s 1.8 million.
Sean Hannity deserves special thanks for his role in Fox’s success. Hannity’s prime time show took the top spot in cable news for the 3rd year in a row with 3.3 million viewers.
What is even more incredible for Fox News is the fact it is the only cable news outlet showing notable growth. Fox’s main competition from MSNBC and CNN has been steadily declining, while Fox saw 3% growth in its viewership from 2018 levels.
Americans are choosing Hannity over the entire roster of hosts at leftist outlets. That should scare Democrats heading into 2020, as it represents strong evidence that viewers are growing tired of their anti-American narratives.
Mainstream media in decline
Fox News is an exception in an otherwise declining industry. Younger audiences are more dispersed these days among alternative media platforms that are more easily accessible than ever before.
News is available on social media platforms such as Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook. Thus, attracting people, especially the younger generations, to sit in front of the TV during a specific timeslot requires the creation of a product people really want.
So with that in mind, Hannity’s accomplishments are that much more impressive. People must really want to hear what he has to say.
Fox News truly is an aberration in today’s media landscape. The network’s success may not last forever, but the outlet is almost certain to outlast the competition.
