Earlier this week, the House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress — a move that left conservatives outraged.
Why? Well, as Sean Hannity put it, the Democrats want Barr to break the law — or else, “they’re going to hold him in contempt.”
“That’s how twisted they’ve now become. Democrats want Barr to reveal secret, grand jury information from the Mueller report — or he’ll face charges from Congress. If he did it, it’s illegal — it’s a federal violation,” Hannity said. “They’re lawmakers. Shouldn’t they know this?
Breaking The Law
House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and company are touting that Barr is breaking the law, but that is a complete falsehood.
Democrats want to get their hands on a full, unredacted version of the Mueller report — but there is one small problem with that plan: they are not entitled to see it.
Most of the redactions in the report are related to grand jury testimony. By law, that testimony is protected and not supposed to be revealed.
Still, Barr has actually offered Democrat leadership a look at a version of the report with fewer redactions than the one released to the public.
That version would include information about procedural and investigative techniques that was redacted for national security reasons.
But that offer from Barr wasn’t good enough for Dems, who are now subpoenaing the attorney general to do something that is completely against the law.
Meanwhile, they are portraying the AG as some type of criminal for simply following the rules. And Sean Hannity has had enough.
Take a look at his full monologue:
Then There’s Comey
But Hannity wasn’t done after slamming Democrats in Congress. He also took some jabs at James Comey, the former director of the FBI.
It was recently revealed that the Justice Department’s Inspector General and the attorney general are looking into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe — which could be bad news for Comey.
Comey says he welcomes the review, but Hannity has advised him to keep his mouth shut.
As we have already found from the Mueller report, the basis for the investigation appears to have been fabricated with supposition and false information.
It was Comey’s job to verify these claims before launching such an investigation. But since he failed, there are really only two possible explanations: 1) Comey is completely incompetent, and 2) Comey knew the accusations were bogus and still chose to move forward because he wanted to take Trump down at all costs.
Either way, the DOJ’s investigation is probably not going to be good for Comey. As Hannity recommended, the former FBI director would be best served to maintain his silence right about now.
